Although this says Butte Valley Wildflower Sanctuary the sign says Butte Valley Wildlife Sanctuary. The tiny yellow wildflowers are amazing this year. The Joshua trees here are huge. Its nice to wander around, and find those little things that are easily missed.

With all the rains this year, thought it would be fantastic to visit--as Id never been before. The blooms indeed were impressive, particularly with the Joshua Tree desert backdrop. Also visited the Poppy reserve this year, but what I particularly liked about this location is that we were the only ones visiting. The crowds at the Poppy reserve were comparable to an amusement park.

It is a big area that you cant drive on where wildflowers grow in spring if get rain. There is no structures or lots street parking only. Day use only no night time access aloud.
