Solid artwork. I loved the atmosphere. I unfortunately didnt see enough variety in game options as I thought there would be. Did not go here for any food, so unable to comment on this. I still enjoyed the nostalgia trip though. Great attentive service noticed while moving through tables to get to a different arcade machine. If in the area I might stop by again.

Came for the 5 year anniversary celebration today, as the specials were fantastic--but Ive been here dozens of times, as this is one of my favorite spots in Kansas City. Part theater, part arcade gamer hangout, part local-enthused draft bar, Tapcade owns the hearts of local geeks and brewers. The selection of taps and arcade machines is expansive and happy hour specials are always worth it. Definitely check this place out on a Tuesday night. The food here is also way more than bar food, surprising everyone with choices like the Buffalo Chicken Rangoons, the Impossible Burger, and KC Poutine.Parking here can be tough, but its not an impossible distance from KCP&L garages or the Streetcar if youre desperate. If you want some local flavor and are feeling nostalgic, stop by--youll love it.

Arcade is full of retro games and for $5 all you can play arcade, you cant go wrong. This place was a lot of fun and a great time. Only issue, bar full of people and only two bartenders and getting drinks was a nightmare. I waited over 20 minutes for one drink and to get my stamp to play the arcade. But the atmosphere and games really were great.

I had a wonderful time at Tapcade. We were there for a special viewing in their media room with 80 to 100 friends and family members. The location is walking distance to Sprint Center and Power & Light, Taylor our server was great, and the food was 9 out of 10. My cheeseburger was great, except the bun was way too big for the burger.....size does matter. The bun should match the burger. We will go back, very good experience.

Really cool place, great beer selection but the shame is for most of the major machines that you expect people to play they either have joysticks that are gummed up and not responsive enough to play enjoyably or for example I was pumped to play metal slug but the jump button kept jamming and sticking in its socket. Pinball machines are great but only three of them. I wasnt able to try the food or cocktails while I was there.

Went here during a convention time and it was AWESOME!! A bunch of arcade cabinets for those gamers, a place full of nerds and geeks to talk to, and all in a really cosy atmosphere. But let’s say you don’t like video games and you were dragged here by some friends. Movies are shown all around the place, with special theme nights every now and then! Nice place. Good food. The arcade game model is fun because $5 lets you play most of the games as much as you want. The pinball machines are 25 cents per game which is a good deal. The wait staff can be rude though if you are there around the switch over time. We had a kid with us. They said we had to leave around 8 pm because of the kid when we arrived which is fine. As soon as 8 pm came, they became very rude and stood over us until we left. They could have handled it differently and been nicer by coming over a quarter to 8 with a reminder. I wouldn’t go back.

To preface our visit we showed up around 430 on memorial day so we didnt expect it to be super busy and it wasnt. When we showed up it was oddly quiet and took a few minutes before anyone seated us. The one beer my wife and I wanted they were out of and the soda machine was broken so the kids drink options were fairly limited.Decent variety of games to choose from and our kids had a lot of fun.Food was tasty and fresh also. While eating the back of one of our chairs broke which didnt help with our overall experience.Again...our kids had a blast here....they had good food...but our experience overall wasnt worth the cost in my opinion. If we return we will likely stick to drinks and games even though the food is good.Theres definitely room for improvement.

Tapcade is a fantastic bar! Its one of my favorites in Kansas City. Just as a bar on its own, its a good place to get drinks or hang out with friends. Its not too loud, the employees are very polite and power provide great service by getting drinks for you or helping you out, and work hard to keep the place clean and make everybody happy. Tapcade also has a great beer list. What makes Tapcade more than just a good bar and gets it a five star rating are the games. They have at least a dozen old school arcade games you can play as many times as you want for free and you can play almost all of them with a friend or, for at least one game, with 3 other people. They also set up an Nintendo 64 on a projector so you can play Mario Kart with four people total and have other games or even other systems on projectors elsewhere. You can spend a long time getting drinks (at reasonable prices) and playing old arcade games (for free) with friends not even notice the time pass. Usually it isnt very crowded and I rarely have to wait to play a game or get a drink.Id recommend Tapcade to anyone, even if they arent a particularly big fan of video games. Once you get in the atmosphere - and have a couple drinks - youll learn how much fun they can be. Tapcade would get six stars if I could give more of them!

Best beer bar in KC. Rotating tap selection always has new stuff, heavy on unusual regional beers, but plenty of normal stuff for your Bros too. So there are a lot of positives but also a couple of negatives about Tapcade.Positives:-$5 all you can play video games - a much better model if you want to spend a chunk of time playing and not keep coughing up quarters-They have a movie theater! They have movie events, show older movies and serve food. Its informal and really fun.-Drinks and food are good and there is a variety of options. Its not one of this places where you only have 5 choices and hope for the best.-Lots of tables and fun to bring kids during the day, but also, nice because kids arent allowed at night.Negatives:-Depending on timing and your accessibility issues, parking can suck. Sometimes its packed down there.-They stop serving their full menu at 10 and some movies start at 10, so you have a MUCH smaller selection to work with if you plan to eat.-Their pinball options are lame and no skeeball.-The theater is smallish so if your chosen movie is popular, make sure to get there early and stand in line because there are no assigned seats and it will be a dash to sit with your peeps.
