I remember this place being amazing, but I drove from Denver to Kansas City specifically to go to this haunted house with my kids this year, and honestly I wish I would not have wasted my time. It has really gone downhill. It has so much potential! The setting is amazing, the scenes in each of the rooms are amazing, the way that you get out of some of the rooms by crawling through fireplaces or whatever… It’s so cool! But they totally dropped the ball. You don’t get to experience a lot of that because they are just pushing you through as fast as they can. I was very disappointed. Aside from the scenery, everything about this haunted house field. And I know it’s called the edge of hell, but does it have to be as hot as hell inside the attraction? Really disappointed.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I loved these haunted houses. My boyfriend and I attended Saturday and while going through the metal detectors, we were told to put our belongings in the bucket to walk through, as we did. When going to get our belongings once finished my boyfriends wallet was gone. We checked all around us to find nothing. The worker told us to check our car when we left which we did to find nothing. He knew he put it in the bucket. Management had us leave our name and number in case they found it, which we never got a phone call about. Come to find out, while at work today, a coworker of mine mentioned he had the EXACT same thing happen to him Saturday as well. We know that worker took it, but we tried to remain positive about the situation. This is so unprofessional and I will be making a police report. We were just trying to enjoy our night out and got 300 dollars in cash stolen from us along with my boyfriends personal information. It’s disgusting.

Came a long way to see the haunt, but couldnt go though because they decided to close at 9pm on a Friday night because they didnt want to pay their actors anymore for the night, despite the website saying that they are open until 12am. Someone in my group was told that we need to plan better by one of the actors there because they told us to come back tomorrow and we said that we couldnt because we were only in town for the one night. I would love to leave a better review if I get the chance to actually go through sometime. But it was a disappointment for our group, having driven 8 hours to go through the place.

I have done smaller scale haunted houses but nothing like this before. I loved (hated ?) this experience. Deff do the combo VIP pass to skip the line, it is well worth the money. I had a group of 5 and we did sometimes find slowing down a little to give space from the group in front made it more enjoyable. I was legitimately terrified at times. Would definitely come back, I loved the slide at the end of the Edge!

Me, my best friend, his brother and his friends went here tonight. It was a lot of fun and there were some spots that got us good. It wasnt as scary as I was expecting it to be and I thought wed be spaced out much more due to COVID, but we kept catching up to the people in front of us. I think the experience wouldve been much better if the staff could space out groups more. So for now, this was a mediocre experience, but still fun!

I love these haunted houses but was super disappointed this year. No one really popped out. Just a bunch of sideways floors and twisting and turning. I am hoping it was due to COVID and not just being later in the evening. Usually worth the money but should of saved my $200 this year.

Went for the opening. Must say Corona virus im not super worried about with my family. Was just me and my boyfriend. We arrived at 6pm. Line was long, people were following covid guidelines.... THEN it started to get dark. As in the sky. Then people started cutting line. A LOT. No workers. No police to supervise line. Nothing. We waited for 3 hours and left after the 3rd fight broke out. Still no police authority brought to pending issues. Dont go. Believe me its not worth it.

Review №15

Before I went to The Edge of Hell, I read the reviews first to get an idea of what to expect and I will say that this haunted house exceeded my expectations! I am unsure if its because of COVID or, the night and time I went to the haunted house but, the lines was extremely short. I am glad that I didnt purchase the VIP tickets! It took about 30-45 minutes to get through the lines. There were police officers there and metal detectors for security. I definitely felt that I got my moneys worth because the whole walk through of the haunted house was about 45 minutes. It is a work out too as you will have to crawl, duck, bend, slide you way through it so dont wear your best clothes because at the end, you will slide down a slide that has baby powder on it lol. The spacing was decent and it was only a few times where we had to wait until some of the crowd went through certain parts of the haunted house before we could continue through. Its pretty scary as you never know who is lurking in the corner in the darkness and who / what may jump out and scare you. The actors were in character and they helped guide you if you were lost or didnt know where to go since it was SUPER dark. Overall, I really had a great time and would highly recommend The Edge of Hell!!!Pros: Worth the money. No long wait times to get through the lines. The Edge of Hell put a lot of work into this haunted house. Felt safe. There was a bar and snack bar. My scare level on a scale of 1-10 (7)Cons: Super dark inside so I got lost and didnt know which way to go at times but, the actors helped us get back on track.

Review №19

Absolutely disappointed. Went here as a recommendation. This was such a waste of money. I dont mind standing in line to get into the attraction, but there were at least 5 different lines INSIDE the haunted house. Tons of animatronix that didnt go off properly or even at all due to basically being in a constant line of people, the actors were basically just standing there, and for some reason the slides became the main point of this haunted house. Not to mention the COVID precautions are non-existent. Like, sure youre using UV lamps on the fingerprint to kill the virus, but people are packed like sardines in the entrance way, no one is enforcing wearing a mask, and people were coughing nonstop in those lines. That means theres like a 30% chance of people getting covid even if they wear their mask. Way to go.Heres how you fix this. #1 More actors. #2 send groups of people in actual waves instead of 2 -8 people every 20 seconds. #3 its literally just dark in certain areas which is pretty lame. Like, thats not scary its just annoying. Maybe make better use of the dark areas?Anyway, junction city, ks has a better haunted house than this one for a quarter of the price lol.

We spent time in the wrong line because people told us it was the right line. The line we were in were buying tickets there. Those people got to go in first for some reason? Anyways we moved to other line and the wait was so crazy long for the online ticket orders. It wasnt helping that one of the workers was super aggressive about it. By aggressive i mean that he yelling and getting into peoples faces screaming at the top his lungs. The other staff was trying to apologize for his actions. If you have a few hours to waste in line go ahead, but just know there’s a chance you won’t get in. They have a pretty good scheme of letting the entire line for VIP in before letting one person in the regular line in, so that way people cave and pay the extra money and continue building the VIP line. A person in line was let in about every 10-15 minutes and the line continued through the entire haunted house so there were no scares. Waste of money.

It started out amazing! But then, we ran into a line and literally stood in the middle of the house for about 15 min. This happened twice as we went through and the lines outside werent even that bad. I think they need way better timing or crowd control as they let people in. Very dissapointing.

Long wait for a house that was, in the worst way, a hellish experience I wish I had been smart enoigh not to go in. The house was pretty full, but not with actors and scares but rather with other guests. After the first few rooms, we wound up back in line for the rest of the house which was start and go the rest of the time. Mostly forgettable, it was just standing in line in various states of being in the dark on uneven surfaces. You could probably walk around your own house at night and have more of a thrill. Would absolutely not recommend visiting this house. Ever.Bonus: Draculas very visible American Eagle underwear pretty well marked were the house became boring, not scary, and just a solid line to look at two snakes.

The only reason Im giving 2 stars instead of 0 is because I have been here before and know this can be a good haunted house but on this particular visit it was terrible. The wait to get in was over an hour but once we got inside the house it was backed up so bad we stood behind everyone all over again only this time it was pitch black and hot. They let so many people in at once it was completely at a stand still and horrible. We shuffled along for a bit but had enough and took an emergency exit. What a waste of time and money. The Beast was a much better experience. I hope they figure out how fix the issue here so people dont get backed up so bad. It was really uncomfortable and not cool at all.

I went on October 20, 2017. Overall it was a good time. The three us paid for the VIP tickets and it was well worth it. Our lines were super short (we went to two of them). I think they were understaffed. Our interaction with the actors was pretty limited. As a business owner, I am pretty sure their lack of staff was not due to a lack of trying. It is so hard to get and keep people. Some of the actors went a little above a beyond and tried to do a good job. My favorite part was jumping out the 2nd story window onto a large air bag.

Review №55

I would have given a better review but... the line wait inefficiency really discouraged me from ever wanting to attend this attraction again.Worst part - The kid who was in charge of letting people in from the 3 different lines was ONLY letting in VIP people. At any amusement park usually you take a group from the regular line and then switch to VIP and then back to regular line and then back to VIP, so both lines would be moving, obviously VIP getting in faster then just the normal line. NOT in this case. The boy in charge never switched from VIP to the online purchased ticket line or purchased tickets on site at the haunted house line. He was strictly only letting VIP in and the line never dwindled. We were almost at the front, like 10 people away, and stood there for a solid 30min before they even let people in from either of the other two lines, add another 15min before letting people in from our side finally and then add another 10min before finally we got inside the building (btw theres another line in the building - much shorter). Not efficient whatsoever. And very much disappointed they would run their business like this let alone not correct this inefficient practice by their staff. By far the most disappointing of any attraction/haunted house Ive ever been to when it comes to waiting in line. Extremely inefficient.Haunted house - Overall the haunted house part was pretty good. It does seem a little dangerous though. Theres various level changes in the floor and majority of the building itself is pitch black so when the floor changes to steps or slanted there is no warning. Definitely understand why they do the fingerprint as a waiver bc its EXTREMELY EASY to get hurt in this place. There werent a ton of actors, but overall the special effects and actors who were there made it fun. Definitely got a few good scares out of our group. The haunted house is definitely pretty good when I compare to all others Ive been to. However that very first part (line wait) for my first time experience of this attraction really did make me never want to come here again. Hopefully they talk to their staffing about this issue. If they had been more sensible with this, i would have given a 4 star review.

This was my first and will be my last experience at the edge of hell. Had an absolutely horrible experience. Bought tickets online ahead of time and was charged a $10 service fee for each ticket, just to end up standing in line at the door for 2+ hours anyways. Once we got inside it was obvious that they were understaffed. We saw maybe 10-12 actors the entire time we were inside. They ran out of 3D glasses and pushed us through anyways so we didn’t get to enjoy any of the 3D effects like groups ahead and behind us. Before we were halfway through we were at a standstill in a single file line for the remainder of the time until we got to the slide which ended up being wet and impossible to slide down. My entire group had to scoot all the way down a wet slide after waiting 30min in a hot and miserable line at the end of our experience. They keep letting them in before everyone else. So if you have a family and don’t or can’t spend $300 to enjoy legally skipping the line, and you can’t wait for hours while being treated like a second class citizen, go somewhere else tonight! There is no consideration for family or for the honest and right thing at The Edge of hell.
