Well ... that was a huge disappointment! No sign telling what went on here! No sign telling when and how it was built! No sign showing what it would have looked like when in use! NO NOTHING!! A few picnic tables, a few rusted out cannons( were they actually used there??) Don’t bother.
Very small but incredibly peaceful and beautiful. Plan to go here as well as the other 6 state parks near by for the full experince. This is a site during the civil war where we took in cargo from the river. There are signs posted for no digging and you can use a metal detector. You have to report anything you find but take tons of pics
Always love spending some quite time in the park. Great crowd, made some good friends.
This is not a big park (nature trail) but its still beautiful. Great spot for photos and a wonderful view of the dames point bridge. As a photographer i can see myself bringing clients here for Portraits. The trees are amazing. If your looking for any of that or a small walk of nature id go here. Perfect also for quite family picnics very shaded.
A very very short walk. Be careful of the giant ant piles, especially in the parking lot near the main sign. The park is a lot smaller than Google maps shows due to the fencing. Great shade and photo ops!
Great place to relax and enjoy some quiet time..
This is a very small park with a few picnic tables but no other amenities. I was absolutely memorized by the beautiful trees here. As I walked through the park I was surprised by how quiet it was there being so close to the port terminal, you can hear the nature around you. This is a good place for a short walk, picnic or just to sit and enjoy the quiet of nature.
This quiet Park is tucked out of the way but you can feel the history emanating from the old fortifications
If youre in the area, its worth a stop and see. Its a piece of our history. Great view of the Dames Point bridge.
Nice spot. Quiet.
Expected a larger park... Its peaceful, but very small.
Needs some upkeep. Not much worth seeing. I did not even get out of the truck.
Nice quiet spot to contemplate our national history.
Interesting spot and history, no hiking, great for a picnic though!
Nice little hidden park.
Great family time educational!
Nothing here except a small plaque and a few randomly placed cannons. Surrounded by developed industrial sites from Jax Port. It seems to have lost its significance for being preserved as a state park.
Nice little park tucked away. Beautiful piece of history.Great for picnics.
What a nice pleasant place
Not every historical site can have a visitor center, bathroom, museum, movie theater etc. This is a nice place to walk around, observe nature and learn some history.
Is just a small park not much to do there...
Beautiful
Good
Nice
Verry funny
Would not have recognized this as a park if there was not a plaque.
Great place to hike.
Its ok
Small. Nice and shady for a picnic though
LOVE it
Good stuff
No place to sleep over night
Its a shame that they dont try to re fabricate something there theyve got to have some old pictures somewhere in the archives
Not much here to see.
Nothing here but a warehouse inside a locked fence with For Sale Signs
All that was there was 4 tables and thats it
