Absolutely beautiful and lots of history here

I really hate it when somebody gives a 1 star review that has nothing to do with the site or their own stupidity. read the only 1 star review here and youll see what i mean. anyways i stopped here on a cloudy day in January and really like this site. they had the information signs up where they should be and the old builds were so cool to see. after walking and reading all the information signs and stepping back looking over the land (as i do at all these kind of sites) i try to imagine if i was there as it was happening. i get a chill every time as sadness comes over me. how close they are to each other in these battles. i cant imagine what must be going on through these mens minds as they are killing each other. most people only look at these site for their entertainment value of today. so the next time you visit a place like this really take the time to learn why it exist and try to place yourself there.

Great little Historical Park. It is kept clean and the area is easily toured on foot.

This site was worth the quick stop. Theres an audio tour that you can do on your cell phone that I would like to do one day when not chasing a 2-year old. There are enough informative signs around that you get the jist of the historical importance and what had happened there during the Civil War. The buildings are neat to walk around- though you cant go un them nor can you see inside them, maybe you can in the summertime really not sure.

Interesting displays and exhibits. Some interpretive signs hard to read. Excellent interpretive program over cell phone.

Reeds Bridge is an unexpectedly living Civil War site in the middle of Jacksonville. Annually there are reenactments, but the little homestead is active - gardens, flowers, up-keep - but no livestock. The site is also spread out in 3 nearby areas.

Interesting place but not well maintained. Some areas in disrepair and plaques were so dirty could not read them. This was a part of history that I did not know about..but did learn a bit from the internet.

Very easy to find. They work very hard to preserve the history of this battlefield. In fact, of the 3 battlefields in the area, this one is the best preserved.

I absolutely love this place. The people there are very friendly. Although its small compared to say, Pea Ridge, you can still walk away with a sense that youve stepped back into a bygone era and learned something. Watch for living histories and reenactments!

Seems that people have stopped using the park for regular reenactments. But every other Saturday a group meets for a LARP. Very fun, and family friendly.

Awful! We went to go see this area because of the reviews. However, when we arrived a family was there, practically looked like they lived in the old buildings and a kid with a bat was following me around trying to hit me to get out of his house! We will not be back again!
