Gorgeous area. Be sure to bring bug spray! The hike is about 4 miles total and around 2 until you get to the beach. A good mix of shaded area and beach area on the trail. $5 a card, exact change only or card. No pets allowed on the beach. Has plenty of shaded picnic areas by the beach and a small restroom facility. No outdoor trashcans unless near the pavilions

This is our *go to* beach. Whenever we arent sure which beach to go to, this is what we always fall back on. All the park rangers are great! Camping here is fantastic, weve gone 2 years in a row and will keep coming back. They have very clean bathroom/shower facilities, and camp sites have electric and water.

There are lots of great options in this area when it comes to parks, there isnt really anything bad about this park but I usually like some of the other parts in the area. It is good if you want to park close to the waves in a nice big parking lot. It s like asls had lots of pavilions. We went to test out our bikes and it was great for that. We started at the north end and traveled South to a nice pavilion with a water fountain for us and our dog who surely appreciated it.

Awesome, secluded beach with white sand and plenty of shells. I would recommend water shoes or sandals if you want to walk a lot because the shells do irritate your feet after a while. The boardwalk to the beach has wild blackberries growing if you look carefully! Its a gorgeous area and Ill be back.

Great place. I didnt go to the beach as I had my dog but, walked around the picnic area a little. We drove to the end and walked around one of the picnic areas. Cant walk on the Dunes though to the water. The view is still amazing to me. My opinion. Its the little things in life that matter with the family. Thank you Park Staff/ Rangers

Visited Little Talbot Island earlier this Summer. Nice views and relaxing atmosphere. This undeveloped stretch of coastline has five miles of prestine beaches. It takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Jacksonville to a more laid back beach atmosphere. Lots of wildlife can be seen while visiting Little Talbot Island, not to mention some good fishing. So come relax, fish, swim, camp, or just stroll the beaches.

The campground is across the street from the beaches, and although its dog friendly, the beach part is not. Also the roads in the campground need grading and are really rough. Tons of low branches. Just go very very slowly.

Check out sites if possible when it rains a lot of them are under water. Mosquitoes are horrible. The area is beautiful and our bike ride to the beach was nice. Try to get site 33 or 38 they seem not to flood and its close to the water to put your kyakes in and fish.

Only a few dollars to get in for the day. I spent most of my time on the beach, not hiking or biking like I saw others doing. It was beautiful. The beach is long and quiet, and the driftwood is a protected part of the environment. Great for quiet relaxation or outdoor activities.

Little Talbot Island is a wonderful place to see and visit. There is paved parking, covered pavilions with picnic tables, charcoal grills, restrooms with changing stalls and a drink machine at the first restroom building. There are also outdoor showers to rinse off after a day in the surf and sand. There are also lower sprayers to rinse your feet. We had a blast and are already planning to cisit again.

BLACK SANDS BABY!!!!! Just the kind of thing I had hoped to find (the unexpected)!!! Seemed a bit secluded. But, who doesnt want access to A SECLUDED BEACH?!!! EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE!!! Fun beach for family gathering as well! More than a few pavilions. Plenty of water spouts for rinsing sand from your hands & feet, prepping food for a BBQ, or cleaning fresh caught fish! Little Talbot Island is beautiful. We have been here two times now (we live in TN), and plan on stopping by again in the near future. Swimming is not advised due to sudden changes in water levels, but if you are looking for a quiet peaceful beach, and want to find some awesome shells this is your place!

Little Talbot is one of the best state parks I have been too. I am probably saying this based on the fact that you can experience the seashore the way it once was without buildings and tourist. My boys (11 and 14)and I hiked the The Dune Ridge Trail, Two miles in the woods and finishes up on the beach. Once you exit the trail you step on too a shore of beautiful white sand, waves, driftwood, shells and sand dunes. I suggest this hike to anyone looking to experience diverse ecosystems and sheer beauty. We saw turtles, starfish, fish and birds I have never seen in Daytona or the gulf.
