Reasonable ticket price. Fun and long ride. They have a practical approach to keep social distancing during the covid. Very impressive.

A great inexpensive way to see Hermann Park. The railroad is located fairly close to the Houston Zoo entrance, but the railroad does not take you through or around the Zoo. Instead, the railway takes you around many of the other activities available in Hermann Park. The ride is not down a really short path either. Without timing it, I would say it lasted 15 minutes or so. Our entire family enjoyed this experience.

During Covid-19, the workers put safety first. Social distancing is enforced, wearing a mask is must. Hand sanitizer is available. Seats on the train is sanitized after each ride. Kids will love the train ride! Price is good, $3.75 per person.

A great trip and a fresh update on a childhood favorite memory. Social distancing doesnt do much good if the employees dont wear masks or dont wear them properly.

This park is family friendly and lots to do with the kids. We go here all the time and we always have a blast. The parking is a bit challenging because there are always more visitors than parking. Parking is free.

The best thing of going for a ride here is seeing the happy faces of all the children while the railway is coming! Personnel and drivers are very nice people that understand how much of a big thing is for the kids to ride it. The view while in the railway is just breath taking. All for a very low cost per person. Each ride lasts about 15 to 18 minutes. It is for sure a must thing to do during summer break from school.

My daughter loves this train! It was a very inexpensive way to see the majority of this park and could comfortably seat two adults across. One stop was right by the kids playground and we got to stop and enjoy the splash pad. The staff was very nice and because it was our first visit went out of their way to explain how the train system worked so we would get the most out of our day at the park.

The train ride was awesome. What we saw along the route were nice. The park itself is very nice. We took the ride from the museum to the park near the lake. My son would love to take another one but it was too short for 4 dollars. So I did not go the second time. Instead, we took the paddling boat on the lake.

Its from 10 am to 5 pm, train has 3 stops along the trip you can get in those other stops however it needs to have a space from the central station, I mean it should be less crowdy. I enjoy the ride it takes 15-20 minutes to complete, it was around $3-$4 per people, they dont get ticket less than 2 yo.

Been on this so many times that now I actually nod off at times on it. It is a great rickety little train that shows you around the park. The audio system is a bit miffed so you have to focus to understand what is being said. You can get on/off at each station which makes access to the kids play area and splash pad easier from the main parking lot

18 minute train ride around the park. The ticket price is $3.75 per person, and there’s a little gift shop at the train station as well if you want to pick up something to remember the trip by. Wouldn’t really put this as a must do if you’re visiting; there wasn’t anything special to see or anything. Probably cute for little kids (probably not older than 7 or 8) but would skip this if you’re in a group of adults.

I cannot rave enough about the train. My toddlers absolutely love riding it, it makes moving from the Houston Zoo to the Houston Museum of Natural Science and back again so easy, and the all day riding pass it very reasonably priced. The ride is about 20 minutes with three stops before returning to the station, and the staff have always been extremely friendly and engaging with my little ones. Wonderful park activity!

Older Houston Train - well kept but really squeaky! Conductors are professional & sweet! Like many large cities we have our homeless - but the kids live seeing the ducks, wildlife & even bunnies!

This is a great attraction for kids. The train has been apart of Hermann Park for decades. The entire ride takes about 20 minutes and winds its way around the park stopping at various stations that you can get off and on at. We usually buy a day pass and ride all we want. Ride twice and it pays for itself.A word of caution to families with young children, heck anyone for that matter. A portion of the ride goes to one corner of the park that is nearest the medical center. There is always a large concentration of homeless folks hanging out around the statue of Mr. Hermann. They wont bother you as train riders but they seem to be in various states of mind at any given time. Some forget to wear the proper amount of clothing at times so be on the lookout. This is absolutely no fault of the Hermann Park Railroad, however it does need to be mentioned.Overall a great ride for kids and one that I will continue to enjoy with mine.

Its a great family park. My children love riding the train, getting off at the playground, playing and then getting back on to ride to the station. Though there is a lot of parking because of the zoo, it generally fills up on holidays, weekends and special events so it helps to arrive before 10am on holidays and weekends if you want to find parking quick amd easy. Saying that, we generally arrive afterwards and drive around a few minutes for a spot. Have a great time.

One of the coolest park railroads I’ve been on! If you get on at one of the other stops they don’t ask for tickets but you have to get off at the main station and get tickets if you want to get back on and get dropped off where you got on. Even though the trip is 18 minutes there are usually several trains running.
