This is a nice place to view the Everglades. You are over the water and have a chance to encounter all kinds of wildlife from the Everglades and some that is not. It is a short walk to the Observation tower. The tower is not that high but offers a great advantage point to look out over the Everglades.

Great place to stop and view the Everglades as the earliest visitors must have seen it. A quiet solitude that is awe inspiringly beautiful. Ahhh...

Love this place especially on a sunset. Tower with a panoramic view on the park. Ive met a barrel owl there several times I cant express how happy I was. Its so adorable to see such a intelligent expression and enormous degree of its neck rotation in real life. If you a nature lover you know where to go)

This is also located along the highway 9336 which runs from the Ernest Coe visitor center to the Flamingo visitor center inside the Everglades National Park. This is a very short trail which leads to a lookout which provides a beautiful view of the entire marshland or the wet prairies as they call it. Definitely worth a visit and doesnt take too much of your time.

Short, elevated loop walk into the Everglades with an elevated section at the end (tower is a distinct overstatement) that allows you to see over the sawgrass and appreciate the hammocks scattered around the river of grass. Certainly worth a stop to take the walk.

Beautiful view of the Everglades. If I just saw a picture, I wouldnt believe there was even water (slough) under the Sawgrass. Theres so much more here in the Everglades than just swamps and mosquitoes, definitely worth a visit. If youre looking to see alligators, the dry months (Dec-Apr) are actually the best for that.

Just Amazing! It‘s a must do in the Everglades! In front of the trail is a big parking lot. The trail is short (only 250 meters). There is a platform (maybe 5 meters high), where you can see over the everglades ... just enjoy it!

Its OK. There are a few bird species here, and the explanation of the water flow and hammocks was good enough that I learned some things. The observation roof needs to be fixed, it was scary and loud in the stiff wind!

Once all the noisy tourists left the area, we were awed by a cocophony of sounds from different creatures, including a huge owl which perched on a tree near us. Unfortunately another loud group arrived and scared off all the beautiful creatures, including a group that were excitedly talking under the owl at the top of their lungs, scaring the owl away. Will be back next time and stay longer and hopefully get lucky without all the loud tourists.

This is a decent trail and lookout, second to the Anhinga Trail, in my opinion. The old boardwalk winds through a grove of trees where you can see a variety of Everglades flora. The lookout itself is up some stairs and looks out over a vast expanse of swamp. It gives you a good feel for the scale of the park. One thing thats weird is that there are signs saying the trail is handicap-accessible, but if you go counter-clockwise around the trail, you run into stairs. So, go clockwise in order to get up to the lookout.

Trees unabridged!Water, water, and more water! And trees!Oh ya, and wild life...It is a natural area look out tower that allows you to see the area from a higher elevation than ground level. However, the parking area seems to be full with a waiting line to get inside; unless you park along the road and pay the walk in fee.Too avoid the fee, look up access passes on the national parks website.

Pa-hay-okee Trail is a quarter-mile boardwalk that leads to an elevated observation deck to view the marl prairie and Shark River Slough. This is the same Shark River as Shark Valley to the north; the lookout tower is about 15 miles north from this point. Pa-hay-okee is a Seminole word for grassy waters, an appropriate name for the views. Alligators, herons, and egrets can be seen in the shallow waters around the boardwalk. There is also a cypress swamp to walk past - a lot to see in just a quarter mile. The access is road is about 12 miles west from the entrance at Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center and maybe 20 miles before Flamingo. Its definitely worth a quick stop.
