There was so much to see and explore . we really enjoyed it. My family lives out there and they had never been there. I guess it took us out of towners to get them to go. It really is quite a site.plus they also had some interesting plants and flowers which was very pretty to see. Oh and the largest Valentine is there so cute. Will have to go again next time we visit.

What an amazing place!! Unless you see it in person, you would not believe it. Beautifully maintained by current owners. Very clean, easy to walk, guided tours are very well organized. If you get tired or too warm depending on Floridas weather, there are many comfortable seats scattered around in the shade on the premises to sit down. You will find it hard to understand how a 5 foot tall, 100 pound man could build this castle by himself! How did he lift these heavy, (some pieces weigh 5000 tons), coral rocks, much less carve them, design them and stack them. Why did Ed Liedskalnins from Latvia build this place? On the night before his wedding to Agnes Scuffs, her mother forbid him to marry her daughter because of their age difference and that he was not good enough. Heartbroken, 26 year old Ed left Latvia for Canada and eventually came to Florida to build the Coral Castle for his love and hope that she would come to him in America to live with him. To find out the rest of the story, you need to visit this beautiful, intriguing place. Easy parking, gift shop, vending machines for cool drinks available. We hated to leave and after the tour, we spent more time on our own exploring the beautiful grounds.

The history is very rich and the staff is very friendly and the guide has a lot of knowledge of the place and are very friendly. Very nice place to visit when you are around if you are a history lover because there are hardly any highly historic places around. After half hour of the guided tour, we strayed away from the group and walked around and explored every corner. Its really an amazing accomplishment if Ed built it all on alone! The reason I gave four stars is because I think the admission is a little expensive.

Its a quirky roadside attraction. Not a destination unto itself but a fun place to stop off for an hour if youve got the time. I thought the $18 price tag was a bit steep considering its fairly small. However, if youre into odd stuff and curiosities, I would give it a go anyway. The tour is fun and informative and will leave you surprised at some of the things one man was able to accomplish. Youll be outside in the sun for close to an hour, so wear sunscreen when you visit.

Great place to visit! It is amazing that such a little man built this home out of Coral Rock for a woman he never actually won over. All done by hand without any equipment. How on earth did he move a 2000lb piece and make it into a revolving door that you can push open with one finger? Go check it out!

I loved the idea of this place before coming here. Those who are not into this, stone masson art and the mystery... find something else to do. To call it a tourist trap is crazy. Are you that gullible enough to buy the shell necklace...or the magic beans... thats on you. It was $19/adult...worth the time and effort the team puts in to telling you the story of this place and the man who made it. It was smaller than I thought, but after the tour we walked around on our own and went into the sleeping quarters and saw the tools used to create this place. Its great to behold. It was hot as hell out when we went, so heads up if the heat is an issue for you. They have complimentary umbrellas to shade yourself, use em.It was worth every penny...because I am one of those people who love the concept, history and mystery. So get over yourselves, adults choosing to spend money then calling it a trap...lmao.

Ok it was made to be a tourist trap. Made by some old immigrant to make money and it’s still going. Cost a bunch to see. Maybe the size of a large city yard. This well organized and unusual attraction was a delight after a long day on the near-by Florida Keys. It wasnt crowded. What a relief. Additionally, the interesting story of a small man who mysteriously builds this stone structure almost singlehandedly about 100 years ago was delivered by a very articulate and friendly person. It doesn’t worth time and $20 entrance fee. Tour guides just tell you stories that they can sell. It would be much more interesting to see the techniques that the author used to build the “castle”, but unfortunately, they will tell that he levitated the blocks. At first glance it is hard to appreciate Coral Castle, but then upon learning the stories behind the structures and how Ed hand carved each 6+ ton slab of rock. When you consider that he lived in rustic Florida having no electricity and no modern machinery, he manually excavated each block. This 5 foot tall man with a 4th grade education then moved them, placed them and shaped them.He had everything mathematically and astrologically aligned. He was truly amazing. And I am glad I had the opportunity to learn about his achievements.

Either youre going to love this place, or you are going to say what did I come here for?. As for us we like the mystery. There are other places like this come, for instance the mole of Fresno California, But this one is right up there with its Combination of mystery and grandeur; 20 ton rock slabs and more lifted with a 10 ton block and tackle, please explain exactly how that works. The multiple ton swinging gate that lasted for so many years, needed a huge Crane to make a small adjustment and then froze up just a few years later. How is that precision done in the time period that this place was created. This man had a 4th grade, formal education, created a pair of rocks that allow one to sight the North Star. He also created a Sundial that Tracks time even as the Sun moves through its annual cycle through the seasons. For the curious and inquiring mind there is a lot to contemplate here, for anyone who has an idea of what it takes to construct a place like this place, alone, at night. The grounds have been improved somewhat in the 7 years since we last visited. Perhaps that is just the time of year so certain plants are in blossom, and they offer a Stark contrast to the rock. We ran out of time, or may have stayed longer.
