Absolutely stunning. Unbelievable artistry and craftsmanship. I’ve never seen stained glass so magnificent. A beautiful tribute to all that is sacred. One cannot help but feel hopeful after spending some time here. We stayed an extra day in Helena just to visit the cathedral and so glad we did!

This Cathedral is an amazing piece of European architecture and art, sat in the mountains of Montana. The stained glass is surprisingly detailed. You must come see this in person!

This was such a great experience to visit and I was in awe of the beauty inside. If you visit Helena and not make time to see the attention to details here, youve missed a golden opportunity. I immediately was reminded when I was fortunate enough to see the Vatican in Rome Italy and Notre-Dame in France.

Not sure what their open hours are, but wow! What a gorgeous place! Would love to hear the pipe organ.

Very beautiful and peaceful cathedral. It was completely empty and seemed to have great COVID protocol. They had hand sanitizer and masks up front, but we were not there for mass or anything. Beautiful stained glass and architecture.

Beautiful architecture on the outside of the building. The interior is even more inspiring. There was a service going on when I arrived so I just looked on quietly for a moment. Would love to have an opportunity to take in all its glory in a timely manner

This is truly a work of art. Even if you live in Helena and have not gone to see it in a while. Do yourself a favor and go sit in the quiet beauty that is our Cathedral.

The Cathedral of Saint Helena is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena, Montana. Modeled by architect A.O. Von Herbulis after the Votivkirche in Vienna, Austria, the construction began on the Cathedral in 1908, and held its first mass in November 1914. The Cathedral sustained significant damage during the 1935 Helena earthquake, which required extensive renovations. The Cathedral was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

This is probably one of the most breathe taking experiences in Montana to behold. If you are ever in Helena you should make the stop to see this work of art. The stained glass alone is literally priceless. It is truly an awe inspiring experience just walking in the door.

It was breathtaking to walk inside and see this place. You can see it towering above the town from almost anywhere in town. Its great that the let anybody walk in and see it. There is art and decoration on every square inch of the outside and inside of the building.

Musikanten, my favorite musical and choral ensemble offered us Lessons and Carols to celebrate the season of Advent on Sunday afternoon, the 8th of December. This year, the event was held within St. Helenas beautiful art-filled gothic architecture. Sublime music. With gratitude, I offer my thanks and greetings of the season to the Catholic diocese.

Very nice new Bishop and a great Cathedral, but since Im from Great Falls, St Anns Cathedral, though not as grand as St Anns, seems better. Probably genetic.

They are open 24/7! Brilliance radiates from the sanctuary. Please dont miss this when your in the area.

Simply AMAZING! We showed up for 7:30 am Mass, it was dark outside, then slowly the sun came up and illuminated the beautiful stained glass windows. It was BREATHTAKING.The North glass window of St. Helena showed a sunrise. So cool!The priest was gave an excellent homily, informative and entertaining.We travel a lot, and this was one of the most beautiful churches weve seen. Helena should be proud of this National treasure! We will be back!

I’ve been in jaw-dropping cathedrals all over the world, from Nigeria and Japan to France and Italy. And St Helena’s Cathedral is just as gorgeous as the best of them! Just one or two of the many ornate stained glass windows makes a trip worth while; every time I’m in the Helena area I must stop by. The glory and presence of God is truly felt in this place, it is a powerfully moving experience.

Beautiful place with spirit

I am Christian, not Catholic. But this is the most beautiful Church and the most spiritual experience being able to walk throughout the church and look at the beauty of it. And the story behind it, being donated to the city of Helena by Mr. Cruse is pretty incredible!! I I am blessed to live one block from this cathedral get to hear it bells everyday and able to see those twin Steepls shining through the night.

Would have lived to visit, but no hotels in the area are safe.Quality inn has employees living in it, a fact previously obscured by my hope theyd treat me well. I left crying into the dark cold. Pure evil.
