Free admission and free parking across the street (1 hour). Closed Mondays. It takes about an hour to see the gallery. Presently 4 artists on display (large section for each). Recommend visiting the beautiful Catholic church 2 blocks away while there - its beautiful inside.

Small but mighty art gallery. Brilliant installation by Catherine Weldon currently, great artwork by women from Peru, live demo of loom work and wool spinning. Lots to see, buy and treasure!

A wonderful art museum that changes exhibits regularly to keep things interesting. Free entrance but considering donating. Membership is a reasonable price. Has a nice little gift shop with all local artist work. Wheel chair accessible building and restrooms. Has a fantastic after school program for teens. Offers fun adult classes as well for a reasonable price.

The Holter Museum is a very inclusive and welcoming place for all people to enjoy, with amazing displays that change completely every month or so, making every visit unique. The staff are kind, and understanding. There are classes to sign up that are fun, and teach the potential students of figure drawing, which is a rare sight in Helena.I highly recommend visiting.

The Holter Museum of Art is really a hidden gem within the hidden gem of Helena Montana. Which in and of itself is surprisingly modern or perhaps even post modern if you should happen to have the experience. Go b cause I already anticipate my return visit next time I am passing through.

I wish the lighting were better in some of the galleries. It was small but had great exhibits. I was bummed that the Warhol was displayed in the dirty front window so you couldnt get a great look. Recommended donation $5-8

Richard Swansons Red Shift Rocker is a public art installation at the Holter Museum of Art in Helena, Montana. The piece is quite lively and animated and reminds me of a roosters comb! The gallery handles work by many diverse and talented artists and has something to fit most everyones budget. Definitely worth a visit!

Full disclosure: I am a docent at the Holter, so I know I am not objective. But way before I became a docent I loved the Holter -- this is one of the reasons Helena is such a cultural city. We have the Archie Bray Foundation, the Myrna Loy, the Helena Symphony, Grandstreet Theater, other theater groups, several amazing dance studios, and lots more.Holding it all together is the Holter Museum of Art with international quality exhibits, an awesome educational program and regular gallery talks and artist residencies. If you dont already attend Holter events regularly, consider making the Holter part of your routine. The creative inspiration will fill your well!
