Very pretty park. Public restrooms (that were clean), emergency alert pole near playground. Nice docks and lots of them. Lots of playgrounds too. Even a workout playground.

I love coming out here to go on my daily walks with my daughter and our pet maltese puppy champ..he loves it as well! It just an all around perfect place to bring the family to cookout, fishing and get some exercise in while the kids play on the play grounds!! Just perfect for your family outing!!

Hester Park is a hidden gem! I frequent the tennis courts often even though they need repairs, but this was the first time I explored the whole park. Theres a lake and a lot of open space to walk. There are shelters for gatherings and a huge fields for archery, volleyball and football. Theres an Adult Active Center and I plan to check that out as soon as possible. I heard they have basketball courts inside. I would give it 5 stars but Parks & Recs has disabled the tennis courts lights and will not invest money in maintaining the tennis courts even though they are frequently used by so many.Of course I have called Parks & Recs but money is dumped on the courts on the other side of town. Overall its a very nice park and glad its a part of my community.

It is a gorgeous park. The lake in a beautiful showcase and the expansive park is really a star. Congrats to Greensboro you have something special.

I love it here! It is never overcrowded. Its a great place to walk, relax in your car, cookout. Whatever, you name it. There are plenty of picnic spaces, gazebos, restrooms and playgrounds at both ends, tennis courts, volleyball courts. If you have your fishing license, you can fish. I go here to walk. I also go here to just sit in my car and think. If youve never been, you should.

I love going to Hesters park because during this pandemic its a quiet and clean place to get away to. You can Walk around the trail or go fishing which I love to find my own quite space. Its kept clean and you can also have a nice picnic there. Enjoy a time at Hesters park!

I love everything about this park! I have lived in Greensboro for almost a year and never knew about this park. It’s never crowded and has a beautiful scenario when the sun is. There are trails, equipment for the kids, plenty of parking spaces and a great place to walk or just park and think and enjoy the beauty.

This is a running perspective. Hester Park is a great sports and picnic facility. Went there to run as I was on that side of town. The park trail is wide, well maintained, short (~1mile) gravel fitness trail (workout stations along the way) around a small lake. The trail was not a loop but could be a loop if you went through parking lots and the road some.

Nice and quiet place for family picnic. Fishing, children playground and bbq spots, shaddy areas are the best. I loved how it was really windy by the trees which helped kill the heat.Highly reccommended.

I pulled over and into the parking lot to use my phones gps, I was there about 10 minutes and had someone claiming to work there tell me I couldnt park there, the lot was almost empty and I wasnt close to the other 3 cars so I couldnt understand the issue but left none the less.

Pretty but need to stock pond, being going for years and yet to see a big fish caught and use to have paddle boats which helped to have more fun. I believe yall use to have a concession stand for food too. Please consider bringing these back.

My kids and I, love this park. There is more than one jungle gym there and plenty of park space for you and your family, while other families are out enjoying themselves also. Great park!

I grew up in this community where this park is located. It has since been revitalized in to a beautiful out of the way park with a walking/exercise trail,fishing area, picnic area and playground. There are tennis courts and a gymnasium as well. There is plenty of shade provided by the tree top canopy. The park is located off Vadelia Road about three miles from down town Greensboro, NC.

Best place to Relax and Exercise

Safe, serene, & tranquil place to exercise, be alone to clear your head, take your children or go on an inexpensive romantic date. I go to walk with my dogs and enjoy nature.

We used this park to have 2, 5k walks in the month of May to support Lupus Awareness and Mental Health Awareness. Very serene and clean. A beautiful park for events and for family outings.

Its a really nice park were you can go fishing if you want to. Has shelters with cooking grills you have to bring ur own grill stuff.

We always love our time here. Especially my baby. The restrooms are very clean, and there are several shelters that are very clean and well managed. The park is very clean, and there is a lot of parking.

They have everything youd want from a park. Easily accesible and convenient location. Make sure you are out of there before the gates close or your car will get locked in! Helpful staff though unlocked it for me so I didnt have to escalate the situation!

Love this park! Very pretty, clean, good tall, and lots of activities. Would be great if it had more bathrooms or if the available ones were always open.

I love this place I always come with my kids to have a good time I used to always come to this park myself as a child. This weekend I had rented a shelter for my daughter‘s birthday party it was great and all but the security or whatever they call themselves were threatening us to lock us in there because it was time for us to go but yet he could’ve just told us it was closing but he decided to have a nasty attitude instead the whole time bickering and we heard him 1000 times . How rude can someone be ? Never again.

Its a good place to walk the dogs and cookout, but a bad place to go fishing the feeder has been broken down for over 2 years.

This garden is a gem in the middle of busy streets around the area. Its area is literally an area of a block or so and can take just 15 minutes or less to finish a walk.Once you are inside, you can explore the plants, the trees, the ponds or even take a short route inside the garden to explore more of the areas/animals in the area. You can breath in the nature and forget about other things going on for a bit (though at some point, you can still hear the cars on the roads nearby still).-1 as the place is rather small. I like the garden and the greeneries and the freshness there, but for the fact that its so small and the loop can be completed within 15 minutes, if you are looking for a longer, more satisfying walk, better go elsewhere. If you are already in the area, and just want a quick exploration, this garden though if perfect!

Really, a beautiful little lake. Grounds are OK, just well-used. Not much grass in picnic area (well, none, actually.)

I went with my mom and cousin. We walked the trails, and saw a blue herring. That was cool! We got a few nice pictures of it and the lake. I love the quietness and the beauty of it all.

Had a family function there recently (April 2019).Moderately clean bathrooms.Clean grounds.Playground for kids.Accomodating.I like the lake for fishing there, and the wooden pier!

A lot like Country Park in offerings. Hester Park is open for cars on the weekend however. There are two entrances, off Vandalia and Groometown. The entrances meet up so you can enter one and exit the other passing through the entire park.Shaded shelters, plenty of parking, pond with several docks, tennis courts and soccer field, volleyball nets, several bathrooms scattered, tables, gazebo, etc. One small playground.The knock on Hester is the area isnt the best in Greensboro. True. The fields and tennis courts seem a tad run down and under utilized unlike Country Park which is booming. The rest of the park seems well maintained however.Hester doesnt seem to have the traffic as other parks in the city so it is never as busy as other parks.

Pretty nice park, clean pond you can fish in. Playground areas are geared towards younger kids, my 7 and 10 year old kids werent impressed. Great place for bike riding!

Nice park but needs more kid friendly things here. Great cookout areas plus nice lake. Also has tennis courts along with football field and seating. A great family park as well as romantic place for couples. Not loud or overcrowded at all. Actually rather clean for a park. But little kids has no true play area and you have to keep your eyes on them due to the lake. Thats if you are in the area close to the lake

Quiet and peaceful.A very nice place to take a walk or a jog.

Used to be nice when I was a little girl, but that was over 20 years ago, I took my daughter to play on the playground and there was broken glass everywhere and one the slides had a dangerous drop off height.

I live right around the corner from this park, used to go here ALL the time. That was until I noticed one of the workers followed me around EVERY time I went there. Couldnt walk my dog around the pond without seeing him staring at me MULTIPLE times. Cant walk my dog around the back field without him OBVIOUSLY popping up like hes checking on us. He has talked to us one time. Stoped right in front of us in his truck(on the trail, mind you) started saying something about the dog making a mess, I held up the bag, like quit being a douche when you dont have a reason to be, he sped off up the trail. We went back a few more times after that incident, still seeing him, lurking, but not so obviously. We asked around about the archery range in the back, if it was open to public, etc. And was told, if we brought our own target we were welcome to it(by multiple parks associates). We took our bows out there like 5-10 times without issue. Even had a pair of cops come by and chat with us a while, said theyd come there and shot their bows before. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE ONE. From anyone. Until we get there one day, when he is the only one working, unload everything and start shooting, only to have him ride up so quick I could hardly grab my dog in time. Talking about how we have to leave, being so uptight we couldnt get a word in edgewise.. We went to the park office, just to realize he was the only one there. We went on home and called the parks department and filed a claim against him. This all happened a few monthes ago (April), I have yet to return to this park.

Were looking for a park for my date and I to sit back and view a beautiful lake but the water look murky. There were a place for the kids to play though if you have kids.

Nice kid-friendly playgrounds. Well kept picnic shelters. The only negative was the bathroom facilities were closed for the season. One would think if you reserve a shelter the bathroom facilities would be available.
