Beautiful county park that functions as a backdoor trail system into Red Rocks. All the views and then some with 98% less tourists. Highly recommended for day hikers or trail runners. About 3 miles will get you to the overlook that looks over Red Rocks Amphitheatre, trails are well marked and maintained. Definitely worth your time!

Great place for a trail walk and even to take your kids to splash in the creek. 3 picnic tables, but plenty of creek bank space. Camping Bathrooms are clean, no sinks though to wash your hands so bring some hand sanitizer and plenty of water! Lots of parking which is nice cause there can be alot of people walking the trails.

Awesome, easy access park with easy to moderate terrain with great views! Hikers, runners and bikers share the sometimes narrow, sometimes wide paths, usually everyone is courteous.I love the red rocks loop (~3 miles) after work (M-F) on my way home. Weekends can get pretty crowded. Trails are meticulously maintained. Im super impressed every week with the active and obvious maintenance of this park. Thank you JeffCo Open Space Parks!!

Had a nice sunny day a few weeks ago and decided to check this place out! It’s a moderate hike but not too long maybe around 3 miles round trip. My dog loved it although come in the spring or fall to avoid harsh summer temperatures. Parking lot was full so I parked on the side of the road leading into the park.

Tons of great hikes in this area, very close to town easy to get to from just about anywhere. There are clean restrooms at the main trailhead, and all the trails are well marked and easy to follow. If you are looking for some amazing views of Red Rocks and a change to make a great loop I would recommend taking the Red Rocks trail and the Dakota Ridge trail to make one large loop. I would definitely recommend this area to new hikers. Lots of great views everywhere you look and most of the trails can be hikes all year long.

Desert terrain featuring huge red rocks. You can even hike into Red Rocks from the trail. This is a great place to go when its wet or cold in other parts of Colorado. There is not a lot of shade. One of my favorite places to trail run because of the gorgeous views and unique rock.

A co-worker and I did this trail on 9/7/2019. We started around 6am and had the trail to ourselves for quite awhile. Not a difficult trail, but very pleasant and good for all ages/experience levels. We didn’t run across any snakes while we were on the trail.Once the sun comes up, you are pretty exposed, so make sure to bring a hat/sunscreen.The trail got pretty busy after awhile...lots of folks walking their dogs and bikers. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly.

This place is a gem! A lovely park for hiking, jogging or just taking a stroll in the foothills. The trails and terrain are awesome, the amount of people here was too much to enjoy the rest. The breathtaking views that I remembered here are being replaced by new developments; huge buildings and neighborhoods. So sad. I at least managed one shot back at red rocks with very little intervention before descending back to the parking lot.

Good hike close to Denver. There are bathrooms near the trail head and a few tables to relax or enjoy a family meal. There is also a creek you cross at the trail head near some of the tables that are in the trees making this area shaded. The trail is mostly packed dirt. Most of it is open but some goes through patches of trees. Doing the full loop would take a few hours. Not too difficult. Good for a relaxing hike or trail running. Good amount of parking but seems to always fill up so you may need to park along the road.

This is a nice trail with moderate use on the weekdays. Pretty nice views and a decent workout once you get a bit further up the trail. You can also hear Bandimere Speedway and Red Rocks further up the trail too. They also have bathrooms at the beginning of the trail which is nice and a nice size parking lot with some overflow parking up the road. I havent been here on a weekend, but imagine its pretty busy.

Very outstanding!I come here for my grandma’s birthday sometimes. Lots of open space and some good nature. One complaint is that sometimes people let their children ride unattended through the parking lot on a bicycle at dusk while cars are backing out. It is more a fault of the negligent parents than the park, but be careful when you come here. They have a hiking trail and some picnic tables to eat your food at. Very convenient. The other complaint is that sometimes you can smell the stinky truck’s brakes coming down from the mountains.

Quite popular with mountain bikers, some of whom dont have very good trail manners toward hikers. Many said nothing at all when coming up behind hikers.
