Stopped in Ft. Worth to see the longhorn cattle drive, which is every day at 1130 and 4. Its no running of the bulls - more like beautiful animals on a stroll. Afterwards we went to a maze that I wasnt sure wed ever escape, and then a petting zoo with a variety of talkative animals. It was definitely fun. Theres an outdoor mall across the way where they had a gun battle simulation that we missed, but later one of the cowboys gave my son an exploded bullet, and THAT made his night complete.

Great place to take friends visiting from other states or countries. I grew up here in fort worth but its nice to re-visit when Im giving tours to friends. The petting zoo is amazing ️ i could play with the animals all day. I just wish that long horn steer didnt have to stand outside all day for pictures ..he always seems to be suffering

Come for the longhorn cattle parade, but make sure you take it all in! We came to Dallas for the Cowboys game but walked away with this excursion being the highlight of our long weekend. We loved the shops and the old west feel, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful while being mindful of social distancing. Note every Friday and Saturday evenings they have live rodeo competitions between 40 local ranches. This is a must if you want to experience the old west!

The shopping experience is awesome in a style of wild, wild west. There are plenty of wild adventures such as mrchanical bull ride and cowboy maze to be explored. It is indeed a cowboy town paved with cobbled stones in a pedestal way. Be prepared to feast the smoky barbecue in the heart of Texas.

Seeing the Longhorns walk was really cool. My 4-year old loved it. The cattle drivers did a great job keeping the cows in line and making sure to keep the audience back and everyone safe. They had a cute little petting zoo, options to ride a horse-drawn carriage and options to sit on a Longhorn for a picture.

Amazing place to spend time with family or friends. We went there at 4 p.m. for longhorns show. And left just at 11 p.m! You could walk, eat, drink, go to petting zoo, take a ride on horses (adults and kids), and of course went to a rodeo at 8 p.m. It was our first trim in Texas from Florida and now I’m in love with that place!!!! The atmosphere is amazing!!!

Very different than it was even just 5 years ago. The area is very well lighted compared to years past. There are dozens of shops to check out, there are lots of restaurants right in the stockyard area, and even more just outside of it. They have built and are building nice hotels in the immediate area of the stockyards. And the area is very clean compared to years past. Very family friendly and a great place to bring friends and family to get the Texas experience. There is free parking in the outer areas but in the stockyards proper there is a charge to park.

If you are in the DFW area this is definitely a must-do. I recently went during Texas being #1 in covid cases and I will say most people were not wearing masks or social distancing and while stores do require masks there is no customer limit so they can get pretty packed. If thats a concern for you then definitely wait until it is safer to go.

Please read carefully-It’s a sad day. I have worked at the Fort Worth Stockyards for 25 years carrying flags and also for the last 5 years scheduling flag carriers. Today I was informed of a new production decision to cut the opening down to 1 min 30 seconds with the song God Bless the USA. They edited the song. That whole opening in today’s age especially, is more than just an opening. It’s a way to show people from all around the world, rodeo still has its patriotism. My Dad, my Grandpa, and other family members of mine served in the military. Every time I carried that flag, I thought about what people lost fighting for it and I carried it proudly. To say 3 min 12 seconds is too long to show our American pride, our gratitude for service men and women, our thankfulness for our freedom, that’s a sad day. I could not agree with that decision so I quit. To some it may just be an opening, just a production. To me, it was showing people from around the world that rodeo loves this country and our military. A way to show our thankfulness to God for our freedom and privilege to live here. It won’t ever be the same. I know some will say they didn’t cut it totally out but to me it’s the same thing. Every word of that song people need to hear right now.If you get down to it, it has nothing to do with a time issue. They’re saving 1 minute 42 seconds. What does that possibly do?Just think about that for a minute...It was an amazing experience I will forever cherish. The anticipation building every time the chorus came around to finally hearing the crowd roar with pride when the flag flew across the arena. It was indescribable. I will never forget it nor my patriotic pride.God Bless The USA

The old-fashioned shootout to a cattle drive down the middle of the street. If you need to try your luck on a bull, theres a mechanical bull.
