Nice long trail. The trail is all dirt, and some sand. My husband and I walked the whole trail. This trail can get muddy after rainy days, so probably not good idea to come here for a walk. We seen armadillos, deers and lots of grass hoppers. There are two restroom areas along the whole trail. Wear good shoes there are some up hill elevation to walk.

No DogsNo DogsYes, this is in the rules. It took me a little effort to actually find it.We drove out from Mansfield, only to get there and see the no pets sign.but, we see dogs coming out of the park.We got back in the jeep and left. Please, make this easier to see on the website.Like in front?I am sure others will have the same problem or they will just ignore your signs at the park.Part 2 : parking sucks be prepared to park along boat club road.

Fantastic lake to tie up in party cove. Atmosphere is great for adults at the party cove but they also have an area that is shallow to beach which is great for kids. No drama, everything is very friendly and has all the makings of a great weekend! everything is very friendly and has all the makings of a great weekend! everything is very friendly and has all the makings of a great weekend!

Probably the best hiking trail(natural and not man made) ever. I enjoyed it, even my six year old loved it. Make sure you put Eagle Mountain Lake Trail on the map otherwise it will take you ta a private residential place. I would prefer trail boots over running shoes unless you are there to run.

Fantastic for this part of Texas! This trail really has a bunch of different environments to hike in! Ups and downs, dirt, sand, and rocky terrain. Parts of the trail are unshaded and it feels like the desert south west, then the next thing you know how deep under the cover of trees... You can even enter the lake in a few spots if you want.Be prepared to see all sorts of animals too! Ive seen white tailed deer, squirrels, cardinals, baby scorpions and on Memorial Day I saw a pretty good sized snake out by the rest area on the North loop!

I cant say that everyone will have the same experience I had today, but it was peaceful and sort of took me back to my youth. It was the first time I think that Ive ever really taken a stroll. You know, the kind of walk where the journey was the goal and not just getting somewhere. I saw several armadillos and watched a couple of those little guys just meander through the grass. When I made it down to the lake a family of deer were grazing in the shade. It was nice to sit it the shade with them and just watch them go about their day instead of my usual deer encounter, you know, when they turn into clandestine deer-missiles trying to destroy you and all you love. Anyway, my experience today was great, and Im so thankful. If youre still reading this, I hope you stroll through this place and that it blesses you as it has me or more so. God bless you!

I go here all the time. If you like to hike you need to visit sometime, this place has two trails (one is a two hour hike, the other takes about four hours) and lots of woodland creatures to gawk at. Finding little shores to walk beside the lake is a little rare but they exist lol.

Nice lake to chill out on the pontoon. A lot of houses though. So you if you are looking for serenity and a more natural environment not the lake to choose. Only a couple dock/marina areas with gas and food...expensive to get lake access for the most part. I have never seen police or law enforcement on the water which allows for some boaters to be very discourteous. All in all we always have fun.

Favorite hiking spot. Trails are maintained. After strong storms there always seems to be large tree debris on the trails. A simple email and they get back to you quickly thanking you for the heads up, and within days they have cleaned it up. Ive seen lots of wildlife, snakes, and insects here, if thats your thing. The only nuisances are the photographers hogging up the trails. Cant really blame them since its also a great place for photographers, but annoying if youre trying to keep your heart rate up or pace. Also, if its been raining more than normal, be ready for lots of mud.

This is a beautiful place to hike and/or picnic with the family. We are big people and if you have breathing problems, like asthma or allergies or, like me, a few extra pounds pulling you down, be prepared. Bring water, and a cell phone. Take a picture of the map. If your fit, this is still a good place to get worn out, it just might take you a few more miles. Stay on the trails, and dont feed the wildlife. Go to the bathroom. before you set of on the trails.
