This is a village near downtown Fort Worth. It is great for the kids because each station that you go to talks about what life was like back then. The day I went the weather was perfect. The people dressed up and were knowledgeable about living conditions, blacksmithing, extra-curricular activities that they did. The photos that I am posting is of the herb garden that is near the blacksmithing station. Also, some pictures are the schoolhouse and what it looked like.Great lesson for how herbs grow and can be used for cooking. Also, there is one that if you rubbed it in between your hands smelled like licorice. Not to bad was $5 per person, but no more than 10 people in a party. Also, when you pay to do the tour only one person can be in the store since Co-Vid. This place is a great place to get some fresh air and has tons of spots to sit down and enjoy the weather.

Very informative and fun, especially for kids! I came in with fresh eyes, not knowing what to expect. I admire that the guides stay in character and are interactive teachers open to any questions you have. It was a little slow when we went, on Saturday morning, but still very interesting! I would go back again and again because there is quite a lot to learn and piqued curiosity. I definitely recommend going here for education purposes, fun and support our community with this activity.

Corona has forced them to be creative, as the usual experiences were not available. Yet, they managed to engage our elementary aged girls for over 2 hours, patiently answering all their questions and helping them understand the way people once lived in the past. Awesome collection of preserved cabins. Lots of signs explaining the history and original owners. Free parking and about $5 each to visit. A huge herb and butterfly garden exists. People dressed in period clothing are there to answer questions. No snacks or beverages available on site. Handicap access available. All cabins have ramps or ground-level entrance. Uneven and hilly terrain, so wheelchair assistance may be needed. Highly recommend visiting.

The houses are really cool with a lot of info about the houses and families associated with them. I would recommend this to anyone. My kids had a great time as well and my daughter even got to use an old drill press. It must have been boring living back then but it was eye opening.

I hadn’t been here since I was in school, and the cabins and features they added are wonderful. Even my two-and-half year old had a blast. They have a cabin that you can go in and touch everything. My son loved playing with the homestead toys, and I was completely surprised when I sat on the bed to find out it was made of rope! The cabin also has a chicken coop with play eggs and stuffed animal chickens to gather them from, a garden to bury and dig up play potatoes, carrots, and onions, and a working water pump. That cabin kept my son as husband occupied while I got to look at the other cabins and structures. Too many to go into detail, so go check it out yourself. If you enjoy living history, you won’t be disappointed. Also, if you go during a weekend , you might get to help make candles or see a demonstration of a man powered lathe. We went during a Dutch oven demonstration and got to taste some marvelous cooking. Can’t wait to go back!

Visited the Log Cabin Village on a field trip. I have driven by this landmark of Fort Worth for 15 years, but never had visited. I have friends who remember visiting LCV when they were in school. I enjoy learning about American History, especially this time period, so I thought the exhibits were really neat, and historically correct. Theres only so much a kiddo can learn from a textbook. When they SEE and FEEL things they have read about they have a greater understanding of the material.
