The Christmas lights at Loy Lake Park are spectacular! It’s a great family tradition that will slowly wind you through the park while looking at light displays from the twelve days of Christmas, Santa, Rudolph, and many many more! From 75, it’s easiest to exit number 68 for W. Crawford Street in Denison. If you’re coming from south of Denison, take the turnaround to head back south on the access road and you’ll see the lights and signs. It’s completely free and they ask for donations to help keep the tradition going. It’s just a very short drive from Collin County and well worth it!!

Went to the park for the Holiday Lights in the Park. It was a great display and more than I was expecting! It is a drive through light show. It’s free but they do accept donations at the end of the light show. The kids loved it!

Worth the stop, even if you only have 10 extra minutes, while youre travelling into Texas.Small lake / large pond stocked with perch (Texas catch-all slang for yellow bellies, sunfish, brem), cats, and largemouth bass.Ample shaded parking.

Its a decent spot. Getting to it is confusing. The park had a few people/cars when i got there. The spillway area is about the only spot you can fish from, and thats difficult even with topwater because of all the grass...a kayak would be perfect. It had a fair amt of litter all over the park...half deflated balloons surely from a birthday party, drink and fast food wrappers scattered. What the hell is wrong with some people...just put it in the trashcans ... geez. I didnt see a restroom but i didnt look real hard. I wouldnt swim here...no playground but i didnt look for it either. Its more of a sit in your car, ride your bike around, bring your dog, maybe have a bbq at one of the gazeebos or picnic in the grass at the very back. I dont think there was potable water available but i may be mistaken....nothing fantastic to go outta your way...but if you need to pull over and rest awhile its not far from 75, so thats good.
