Quick visit to see the humble beginnings of President Eisenhower. The visitors center is currently closed due to COVID, but the staff has pamphlets available outside the center for self guided tours. Call ahead to reserve a time slot to do a self guided tour of the house. Masks are required. The staff was very friendly. Although the gift shop is closed for in store shopping, you can call to place your order and the employee will pop out with your bag of items. Very clean restrooms.

Its awesome that this part of American history has been saved for all to see. As a women in 2019 I am amazed at what the living conditions were in 1890. How hard it was to take care of a family and a home.

A very nice place to remember a great President. They kept the grounds immaculate. We didnt go for the tour, but did watch the 7 minute video, which was very informative. Did you know he was in Dennison for only 18 months of his life? Yupp. A must go, definitely a hidden gem.

Nice quiet location. There is no fee to walk around the location. Great for those who enjoy photography. However, if you would like to visit the inside of the house, there is a small fee. If you find yourself visiting this location, make sure to go and check out Eisenhower State Park. You will enjoy checking this historic propery out.

I was driving through from my trip to Arkansas, back to Dallas, and in a previous drive to the east coast I had planned to visit Eisenhower National Historic Site where he lived the last years of his life in Gettysburg, PA. So many times I had driven past Denison though was always too tired from driving, and I couldnt pass by this time and not see some of it, so I have uploaded some photos.

This site has a lot of information on Preside t Eisenhower. The house he was born in is kept up really well too. It would have been nice to see some items in the house that was used by his parents, but they do have items from the 1890s which is really nice. The office has a few pamphlets on other sites you can visit as well.

Was passing through and did the detour on a whim. Well maintained facilities that merit a walkthrough. I hope that the next generation or two will sustain the maintenance of the facilities connected to the leader of very, very special persons, many of whom gave their lives so that we could enjoy the longest peacetime in centuries.

Go for the Eisenhower history, leave educated about life in the early 1900s in Texas. This place has some amazing tour guides who are very knowledgeable and excited to share it with their guests. You will find the actual house President Eisenhower was born in, a museum about his life, and a very beautiful setting. There is a $4.00 tour fee, but otherwise it is free to visit the grounds and museum.

This is a great historical gem. The staff here are very knowledgeable and friendly. The welcome center has a lot of pictures spanning Ikes life and a short video of his life and when he came back to Denison after WWII. We spent about an hour visiting the welcome center, taking the guided tour of the house, and the grounds. This site is also very easy to get around. The town of Denison is also interesting and worth visiting. If this review was helpful to you, please give it a like.

This was ..interesting and worth the stop..but I got the feeling that they were sort of stretching a bit with the Eisenhower connection . I mean, he was born there, yeah..but left when he was one. He didnt have any recollection of Texas at all. It wasnt until decades later this womens historical society saved the house and incited him for the opening of it. I mean, Im glad I went...but the connection was a little tenuous.
