It was a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere with lots of smiles and friendly hospitality. The horses are well loved and like family. There were two children on our ride that never rode before and the horses took exceptional care of these kiddos. It was cool to see them doing their job and listening with respect to the kids. Jessica, our trail guide, did a fantastic job sharing about the culture and rich heritage of the land. The numbers are smaller, only six per ride, which makes it so personal and relaxing. Thank you Canyon Trails Ranch for one of the highlights of my trip.

What a great experience! The landscape is second to none and so peaceful. Our guide Jessica was very knowledgeable of the area and her horses were great too. It was my husband’s first time riding and Tonka was very patient with him. We’ll be back!

The ride was gorgeous, all of the horses well behaved and very well taken care of. Jessica and her family take absolutely wonderful care of their animals. She is very knowledgeable about the area and historical ruins you will ride by. Very nice family!

Jessica was amazing. She made us feel very comfortable. The cute doggies that accompanied us on our ride were a great bonus.

What an incredible place! My time at Canyon Trails Ranch was a wonderful experience. From the guided horse back ride in the beautiful dessert canyon, the history and biology lessons about the region and enviroment, the amazing restored carriages and buggies, the dutch oven cookout, the mountain bike trail information, or simply the delightful and joyous people who share their home with you for a little bit when you visit. Jessica was a great guide, she grew up on the property and is very knowledgeable of the area. The tour was amazing, the horses were great, and the views spectacular. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience on our 3 hour horseback ride. We were able to access BLM trails and visit ancient Puebloan ruins that are closed off to the public.

Super friendly and welcoming! Just the wagons and Rodneys workspace were something to see! Amanda was our Wrangler and could not have been more helpful or caring! She made sure I was taken care of (handicapped) and gave us an exceptional ride! You could see the horses were well cared for and she knew exactly how to match the rider to the horse! My family had a wonderful ride complete with a small hike and plenty of water! Loved it! We have ridden in each place we visit while rving thru the states. Probably my favorite ride!

I cant recommend this enough! My sister and I stayed at an Airbnb up the road, and our hosts highly recommended we check out Canyon Trails Ranch. We called and were able to book for the next day. It ended up just being my sister and I and 1 guide - a private horse back ride through ancient canyons...it doesnt get better than that! It was truly an amazing way to experience the land and hear all about it from someone who grew up there. We stopped for a bit to let our horses rest, and hiked up old ruins and had a snack. Their adorable dogs tagged alongside the hike and made the trip that much more memorable! This family was so welcoming and wonderful and we will absolutely be back! Plus, the horses were SO well trained and listened extremely well. Which was perfect since we are in no way expert riders!

We had an amazing three hour trail ride with an excellent guide and wonderful horses. Best ride we had in Colorado! I would certainly recommend this. Our teenage daughters had a blast as well.
