Living in Orville for the past 2 years and not much of dog options as some areas are in port condition. This place is great for us! It’s open space and a fun time for BoHe even nows when we take a drive he gets so excited before we turn in! Recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a safe place to play and get in good outdoor time!

Nice play to let your dog socialize and run around. I havent had a problem here. My dogs love to run around, meet new dogs, chase a million balls and call it a day. Its clean here and people usually are pretty good about picking up their dog poop. If not there are free bags to do so.

The dog park was formerly half covered in grass, but heavy use has stripped it down to mostly dirt, some bark (ha), and a strip of grass. Its human visitors are often less than responsible, leaving their canine companions refuse lying on the grass, just begging to be stepped on. Doggie doo bags are available at multiple points in the park, so these people have no excuse for their reprehensible behavior. But I digress. There are some benches and picnic tables and shade to enjoy on those hot summer days, and a couple of kiddie pools for the pups to play in.

Great park. Dogs of all sizes and personalities are there. Many things can start an incident. Throwing balls, dogs chasing each other, dominance, and even people can start or make interactions worse. Not all dogs are fixed but Ive never truly seen that be a reason for a fight. Its usually over a toy or a smaller dog goes at a larger breed and retaliation ensues. Watch the dogs and talk to the owners. You will learn a lot and everyone will benefit from the mutual understanding of the doggos.

Took my dog there for the first time a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the supportive people there and the way they encourage people to get out of socialize their dog. Absolutely love this place on the late afternoon early evening trip with my little dog Gus

I love coming here and the facility is great and that’s why I give it four stars. However I keep having issues with people bringing their dogs that aren’t fixed or untrained there and they don’t monitor them. I have two male Italian greyhounds that are fixed and the bigger dogs become obsessed with them. The owners aren’t anywhere to be found and it always causes issues. Rather then them addressing the problem, their dog, they react with you shouldn’t bring smaller dogs. Even when their large dogs are jumping on me and cornering me and my two dogs against the fences. I just feel like they need to have better monitoring for when people break the rules. I have been there everyday this week and have had like three issues. I end up having to leave after 20 minutes each time. If I notice my dogs being annoying I always leash them and walk to the other side to avoid issues but am followed by these dogs. I feel bad because my dogs love to run and after the fire they’re now apartment dogs. I would love to petition something where on the weekends they have allotted hours at this park for smaller dogs to prevent issues. I will be doing research and seeing if I can make anything happen.

The dog park is large enough for a lot of did to run explore and have fun with each other.fresh water, poop bags and plenty of garbage bags to make clean up easy. During the summer months there is a kiddie wading pool. Dog park people are the BEST kind of people. Just sayin

Was actually not too bad. Thought it would have been muddier from the rain but it wasnt. I was impressed and glad its still a good park after so many years.

I live out in the country so its hard to socialize my dog. He is a giant 105lb American Bulldog, which is a breed that requires a good amount of socializing. Degarmo Dog Park is the only dog park close by, and Ive never had an issue. In my experience, the moment that any dog starts acting aggressively, the owners are quick to respond and remove the dog. All of the dog owners are always so friendly, and I find myself striking up conversations frequently. The only reason that I dont give it 5 stars is because of the lack of grass, the location during certain times of day, and the fact that there is no separation of dog size or age. It is mostly dirt, which gets hot in the sun. Its next to an elementary school so I highly advise being aware of when school gets out or you will be stuck in number to bumper traffic. The park allows all dog sizes and ages in, which is great... But some dog parks have a two separate parks, one for small dogs and elderly, and one for bigger dogs or puppies. Ive seen some aggressive things happen simply because of 4 month old large breed pup tried to play with an elderly lab with arthritis. This is why I give 4 stars instead of 5.

Mid-week is best to visit but only if youre a reasonable pet owner :) The park gets cleaned every Wednesday & they do an excellent job keeping it tidy. My puppy loves it!

Doggy bags along the path going around the perimeter. Lots of friends to play with. Nice size area for plenty of dogs to run around.

Doggy bags inside the fence and alongside the field, various sized buckets of water. Expect to get dirty. Dogs of all sizes. Some owners don’t leave the park with their aggressive dogs even after problems pursue. Pups that are too young and don’t have all their vaccinations. Parents bringing their infants/toddlers and not being able to watch or care for them and their dog(s). Owners (including me) have to leave in case their dog or eager pup bumps the kids.

Lots of fields for football, soccer, lacrosse. A few baseball fields. Large clean bathrooms. Ample parking wich includes overflow parking closer to the street. There are plenty of covered picnic benches and a dog park. Even the older kids love the playground.

This place is amazing for my dog to get his energy out. Always come here with my furry little guy, he loves making new friends.

Very fun place for dogs

It is a great place for dogs to be socialized. If you forget your poop bag, there are plenty there. There are different areas, such as a grassy area, water area, dirt area and a dirt/rock path. I like that my girl can socialize and get off the leash training at the same time.

I love the dog park! One of my favorite places in Chico!! I wish there was more of these in Chico just to change it up a bit

Not a bad dog park, very open and spacious. Lots of places for your dogs to get a drink of water. Not much grass so prepare for your pouch to get very dirty/dusty.

This is a great dog park. My Chihuahua has a blast every time we come. We have not had a bad experience so far. All of the regular dogs here are so sweet. The only thing I would change is the grassy area is pretty destroyed and it seems that there are a fair amount of people that miss picking up their dog mess. All in all this is a wonderful dog park. Highly recommend it, especially for new dog owners trying to socialize their pups. This is one of the best places to socialize your puppy.

For the very first time for my dogs one is a lab and pitbull and a pomeranian only been with each other the lab had a very fun time but not my pomeranian didnt new I have a place to take my lab to play and have fun.

Pretty small dog park. Its not bad other than I dont like it being on the same property as the elementary school.... Im not sure why. =_=

This place always has a lot of dogs which is awesome for my very social dog. My dog loves to go there and never wants to leave. Its a great way to get all of her energy out.

Nice place for taking a couple dogs. Nice shade, decent amount of running space, and plentiful water for your dogs! Make sure it isnt a busy day when youre there, or that youre okay making friends, cuz theres only about four tables to sit at.

Unfortunately there isnt a separate area for small dogs. I have had to leave every time that someone brings an agressive larger dog because I am afraid that my little french bulldog will get hurt.

My dogs love it, but have had to leave due to rough dogs being let in. ie: a pitbull on a leash with an ignorant owner and the pit wasnt fixed/snapping at other dogs.

Fun for the whole family. My 2y old loves the play area. We have 2 dogs so its nice to go somewhere dog friendly. It can get busy on the weekend.

Good dog park, always busy. No separate side for small dogs and big dogs like other parks. No grass, all dirt. Its a great place to bring the dog to run around d and play. Though! They do have puppy pools, but keep in mind that since there isnt grass, they run around in dirt after swimming if they go in, and get really muddy.

Highly recommend small dog and senior dog section preferably expanded into the grassy field, not dirt.

It was clean and well taken care of. No issues with any of the dogs they were all very cute. The grounds were well manicure and my friend and I will most definitely take his doggie back there again

Such a fun park! More than just a dog park, the kids playground is so much fun! Definitely worth checking out while rolling through Chico.

Its a huge dog park with lots of room to roam around, a lot of other dogs to play with normally, and its made so theres two gates to get in, minimizing risk of any runaways.

A great park with a generally very friendly crowd (both dogs and people). It gets horribly dusty in the summer and horribly muddy in the winter.

I like the area itself, but there is always the issue of people bringing aggressive dogs and not introducing them properly or leashing them to socialize them. Also, people have an issue picking up after there dogs. The park would be a lot nicer if some would be more considerate of those who come to appreciate the park as well.

Decent park! Theres a walking path along the perimeter for the humans to stroll along, there are plenty of trashcans and dog bags, and the park is pretty spacious. I just wish there was more grass and a park for big dogs and one for small dogs instead of a co-mingling one.

So disappointed with this dog park. People constantly bring their aggressive dogs, they let unneutered large and small breeds run loose on the fields. There is absolutely no patrol for safety or enforcing dog rules. People are disrespectful with their dogs, if you go, j ist be prepared to have an aggressive dog encounter. And with no police help, no security help, no park employee help. You will just have to fend for yourself and your dogs life.

If it werent for rule-breakers, I would bring my dog here a lot more. Its a great park, but when another dog attacks mine and the owner is nowhere to be seen or visibly does not care, Im not happy. My dog deserves to run and have fun, not be terrified.

Several water stations, plenty of poo bags, lots of space with a variety of terrain to sniff yo brains out....friendly dogs and humans.

Too many big dogs that are not trained. Some dogs have fleas. I stopped taking my dog there .

Love this park so much!! Wish the grass inside the fence was kept better but youve got dogs running all over it all day so I guess I cant really complain. Still never had a bad time coming here to get doggie lovins!

Friendly atmosphere, the cutest little free library with a nice selection for different age groups, play structure for the kids with lots of different physical activities and a swing for kids with different needs, nice field for sports and tossing around a frisbee, and a place for running your dog.My only complaint is not enough benches near the play structure to be able to sit comfortably and be close enough to keep an eye on your kid(s). Not everyone can sit on a stone wall for very long.

As far as parks go, this one comes loaded with play options...well maintained and groomed baseball, soccer, volleyball, general room for anything, playgrounds, dog park, and picnic area...I think theres much more but that will be for the next trip!

This is a great dog park. Plenty of room to run, as it has a large, open area for play plus several tables and benches for sitting. Three poop bag dispensers so you are never far from one. We have been taking our lab there for 4 years and have never had a bad experience. Owners are responsible and most dogs are friendly and well-behaved.

The place is very nice for my dog! I do wish there was a big dog small dog separation so my dog wouldnt have to wear a muzzle, but other than that nice, well kept, and safe place for my baby to run free. (hes usally trapped in a house all day)

Lots of dogs. The owner pay attention to their dogs ans usualky ckean up after them. Good place for social interaction for both dogs and owners. It could use more toys and ways to play with your dog. Only bring what your willing to share and may not get back.

Awesome space thats large enough for even the big dogs to get a proper run! There are some balls around and throwers, too. Plenty of seating available, though I wish that other dog owners would be better about cleaning up after their dogs.A bit noisy, would prefer more to block the park from the freeway traffic nearby.

Great and safe place to let my dogs run and play. Wish they had a separate spot for my smaller dogs but I’m still happy we have this one.

My opinion, is that for a town like Chico that really has no where else that you can take your dog off the leash, its a nice park. Completely fenced, separate area to de-leash before having to come into contact with other dogs, little kiddie pool, water, everything they need.My dogs opinion: If I dont take her there at least once a week, weve got problems. If she had it her way, it would be daily. Enough said.

Its a great Park its clean they need to supply more water for the dogs and owners need to take responsibility and pick up the mess from their dogs and focus on their dogs and not focus on their cell phones you wouldnt do that if you took your child to the park you would focus on your child course some people would focus on a cell phone thats what I have to say.

I wish there were more grass and trees (for shade). I find the crushed granite/gravel to be messy when my dogs get wet and not as forgiving on my dogs paws/pads. I do like the I water for my dogs and that the park is gated.

Not a good place to take little dogs, the bigger dogs can get aggressive. Be careful.

We usually take our Chihuahua and my mothers Maltese mix dogs here! Theyre often the smallest dogs in the park, but weve never had any problems! My only wish is that more dog owners would pick up after their pups! Great park though!

DeGarmo Dog Park has a large fenced area where you can let your dog off leash to play with other dogs. There are a couple drinking fountains for dogs, a dog statue, and areas to sit. People are there mostly walking around, reading books, and throwing tennis balls.
