The hunter museum is beautiful at night. Albeit a tad creepy, but it gives a sense of adventure at night. The downstairs may need to be avoided however as many homeless camp there and usually are trying to sleep. They seem to not bother anyone but the sleep fairy so. All in all a nice , scenic walk.

As a photographer, I can say the Walnut Street Bridge is truly a dream! Its the perfect venue for a photoshoot! Located in downtown Chattanooga, the bridge connects you to downtown and Northshore. Its beautiful overlooking the Tennessee River! If you are searching for a peaceful place downtown, the Walnut Street Bridge is for you!

Nice way to get across river. Pedestrian traffic and bike traffic. I think the Pedestrians should stay to right but tend to walk down the middle as that makes it difficult for biking. Overall a nice trip across.

Stopped into Chattanooga with the Mrs. for a spell during a drive back to Georgia and it was lovely. During our walking around we strolled across the Walnut Street Bridge, and it was as great as I remembered. We came to Chattanooga on our first trip together, and revisiting now was a blast. The bridge is a great way to cross the River, and has all kinds of sights from atop.People are always using it, but it never feels crowded. Plus, there are plenty of benches, so you can relax on the bridge as well! Just be careful of crossing on a hot sunny day, as it gets warm out in the open like that!If you are swinging into Chattanooga, you should certainly make time to walk the Walnut bridge!

It was a beautiful bridge. I would like to see some restrooms close by. My grandson needed to potty , thank goodness for the ice cream shop that was right there, we were allowed to use theirs. It was very peaceful to sit on the bench and watch the boats and people go by.

For those from out of town, this is a walking bridge. It gets a lot of foot traffick depending on the day, but almost always empty at night. Goes from the Hunter art museum on one end to right above Coolidge on the other. Great for exploring the city. Some of the best views of Chattanooga.

Very nice bridge for a stroll. The wooden tread and the blue painted metal make a nice combination with the surrounding water and views while youre walking. The bridge is very popular and busy, so expect lots of other people to be walking/biking with you. I wouldnt recommend crossing the bridge during hot summer days. There is very little shade, and the sun will be beating down on you. Probably early Fall or Spring would be the best time to enjoy the walk with cooler temps. Im guessing it took us about 20-30 min round trip to traverse the bridge at a leisurely pace.

Beautiful, clean park and bridge, totally dog friendly locale. Views from the bridge were breathtaking. Not too crowded. Parking close and reasonably priced. Coolidge Park is right there with lots of room for outdoor activities or just relax and people watch from the grass or a nearby bench. Lots of great spots for a little amature photo shoot! Tons to see. Had such a blast taking in all of the sites. Close to shopping, food, gift shops, and all the things. Cannot wait to go back! You could spend a whole day here and not even realize it!!

A special place for my wife and I and a Chattanooga must see. The Walnut Street Bridge will always be one my favorite places as it’s where I proposed to my wife. I did work on this bridge with the lighting and have walked it over a hundred times. I love that the city has a bridge like this just for pedestrians, bridging both sides of the city together. I recommend parking in Coolidge and walking to the Chattanooga side. Way more parking options on the Coolidge side.

Can you believe they wanted to tear this bridge down in the 70s? Im glad the city leaders at the time had a vision for it. Its now pedestrian and bike only. There are some interpretive plaques and benches near the middle, but otherwise its just a wide, wooden walkway. Take the free shuttle to the north shore, then walk back to downtown!
