Nice place to exercise, hang out, eat and more. Bring a cardboard box or something else to let your kids ride down the cardboard hills. Take a stroll over one of the bridges. Walk thought and read about the history of the area. Its a cool place with a lot of past.

Cheap fun, Kids love it!Softer boxes are better than hard one. We keep one on our trunk just in case we drive by :)Only downside: not every pet owner is considerate of others often leaving dropping on the grass so watch out for it on the opposite side of the hill or at the bottom of the hill :/

Parking fees are very reasonable, and I can only imagine the open train would be great for flying a kite. We came on a call Mcday afternoon and found dozens of people “sled” on pieces of cardboard down the hill. Watch out for a few bumps, but better entertainment cannot be found!

Love taking the dogs for a walk here, hate having to pay for parking. But there are paved paths to walk along as well as gravel and wooded. Beautiful views of the city, a great place to have a picnic or hang a hammock. Highly recommend stopping on the bridge and seeing how many turtles you can count.

Dog friendly, interesting architecture, has the ability to have decent sized groups in multiple spaces without them even knowing the others are there. Beautiful view of the aquarium and the downtown area.Side note used to be the sight of a dump and parts of the outdoor architecture now serve to clean and filter the ground water before it goes back into the Tennessee river.

Its sometime hard to uplift a place in the off season when all isdeadif you will. That said, there is a certain feel about this place for me best described as peace a type of comfort Ive not had the pleasure of indulging in quite sometime. I ofcourse had the blessing of my better half accompanying me( thank jesus)I wanted to jog, read a book ,sit in silence reflecting. Along with the architecture of down town, the bridges, water, and realy the vibe of the people.why cant everyday be as nice

Take cardboard or some sleds to enjoy a thrilling slide down the hills. I took a plastic sled I found at Target and I flew down the hills. Everyone had some much fun with it. And it has a breath taking view. Specially when there is a baseball game on Fridays you can sit at renaissance park and enjoy some fireworks. Dont forget your doggies! Theyre welcome there just dont forget your plastic dog poop bags!

Review №46

So, I really LOVE this park. And, what I love so love so much about it is that it has trails around a wetland that is constantly being invested into in an effort to reintroduce native species of plants and such. There is a pier that overlooks the wetland as well as a footbridge on the other side to view all the native aquatic creatures. You will see turtles basking on logs and bobbing in the water. You will also see Herons flying hunting for fish and frogs. The frogs at night sound amazing!! Also, if you walk down steps to the bottom to one of the banks of the wetland you can watch tadpoles, fish and minnows swimming in the shallows. All of this wild natural native beauty....in the heart of our city!! Sidewalks are all around. Restaurants, other parks and waterways, a picnic pavilion, 2 big hills for kids to slide down on cardboards, or to lay out and get some sun, or people playing fetch with their dogs and helping them burn off energy on those steep hills. Ive seen yoga classes out there, Ive seen school athletes jogging, etc. It is a wonderful wild space for the whole family!

Co
Review №47

Love that Chattanooga is cultivating native plant species and wildlife in this wetland that is gorgeous. Surrounded by sidewalks and short natural trails that lead to the river. You can see the TN Aquarium, grill out, and do audio tours of the native plant species around the park. You wont be sorry you visited!! Oh, also a pavilion with clean restrooms.

Br
Review №48

Love sliding down the grassy hill but the smell of whatever plant is down in that area is very distracting. It would be nice if the bathrooms would stay open for the kids to use. Maybe keep the same hours as Coolidge since its right next door. Also it could use more lighting. A lot of dark hidden spaces. Love the sound of the frogs in the marshy area.
