Beautiful park with amazing playthings for kids of all ages!

This has always been my favorite park in the city. Enough room to feel private yet enough people around to give it a cozy feeling. Beautiful view as well. Playground for the kiddos. Awesome place to picnic or read a book.

This is a great area. Theres a very spacious field for activities or a picnic. Tennis courts are great, walking trails, and bathrooms!

They got Volley ball courts, tennis courts, baseball, 3 mile trail, calisthenics or fitness park, golf, play ground so a really good park

I like the soft yet solid ground and separate sections for older and younger kids. Also a lot of open grass and a shelter

Great park with lots to do. Great place to simply hang out outdoors as well. No matter your age, Prn Park had something you can do.

Perfect in the afternoon. The trees create shade over both play areas and seating. Bathrooms are very close. Great for small kids.

Excellent, safe park in a more upscale neighborhood of Charlottesville. I traveled here to take my family members to UVa Medical Center, and needed somewhere to take my toddler and my 6 year old while I waited for them. They had a blast. There are restrooms and ample parking. Toddler play structure and older kid (5-12) play structure, along with a fun music area and swings.

Pen Park was awesome. This is a great place to meet with family and friends and also to take your little ones to run off some of that bottled-up energy. This is also a nice place to go if youre seeking tranquility.

A childrens park with an Golf Court attached, the view is awesome during summer and Fall.

Only went to playground, but it was great for my littles!

Peaceful, quite and has a exercise track and nature trail. Tennis courts and golf options. Nice place for kid b-day celebrations or gatherings.

A good workout routine in the back trails

It was the first time I had taken my 20 month old son and he had a blast! Loved the swings and both play areas! He also loves watching people play pickleball and he even ran on the baseball field! Highly recommend for kids!

Good for family gathering

Nice park with views. Biggest plus for us is one of the tennis courts has pickle ball lines!

It was a nice park to take a walk in. I followed the trail and enjoyed the walk. There is a playground as well, but I didnt visit it this time.

The fitness park here has me considering getting rid of my gym membership!

Fun for the family

There has been so much red dust here ever since construction on Rio began a few years ago. Make sure your kids have on things that can get messy! Also the stink bugs are a little excessive but they are just annoying...no real harm. My kids love this park and I really like the trail.

An wonderful place to take family friends and pets to have a quiet lovely moment away from the hussle and bustle of the world.

This park is beautiful. Theres a little kid structure, an older child structure, a music area, shade, picnic benches, trails tennis courts, etc.

Peaceful and spacious!

Meadowceek Golf Course is such a great place to golf. Ive played here on numerous occasions and have always been happy with the conditions. We checked in early and were able to play before our tree time. The woman at the counter was amazing. I mentioned that my nephew is active duty Marine, my brother a retired Army officer and myself an Army veteran. Not only did she give us a good deal, but it was almost too good to be true. Then we made small talk, had a coupla breakfast sandys and choices then hit the links.

Very tranquil and pet friendly.

One of the only parks in the area that still has grills (greenleaf and Darden towels as well) ...the shelters also gives you a bit of privacy because their not too close together theres also a water pump which was even more convenient. A fitness trail that is .5 mi round trip and a nature trail. Ive been going to Pen Park since I was a child, its only right I give my children the same honor!

Very fun place for the kids to play not only on the playground but there are fields where my girls practice softball. There are also pavilions for cookouts and get togethers and tennis courts, a little concrete bike path, as well as a trail in the woods. Penn Park has a little of everything!

Great areas to partake in extracurriculars. Baseball parks, play areas, and plenty of parking. Walking trails connect to the Rivanna and community gardens.

A fantastic park for kids of all ages. There are tennis courts bathrooms swing a childrens toddler area for changes to do five and then another larger playground with five to nine ages. I went in the middle of the afternoon on a nice day and what I like the most with there are benches picnic tables and lots of shade if you want it. there is ample parking and the crowd is very good. we will be returning soon

Had a ball in which I do each year I Church have service and a funfilled day there.

Beautiful experience...my daughter had an amazing afternoon and because of that I give it 4 stars... itd take only a water fountain to receive 5... with this heat we all got a little parched. A cool sip of water wouldve been much appreciated.

Nice big park with lots of different things to do. Musical instruments, slides, swings, climbing things. Good time and nicely shaded during part of the day.

This is a great park! Large park with playground equipment for toddlers and older kids. Has picnik area and tennis courts. There are also bathroom facilities. My kids just love playing on the playground.

The park had so many amenities and areas to chill attended a cookout for a graduation was impressed

My son love is this place. The jungle gym is interesting I have a smaller one for smaller kids. There is a wooded area with its something youd have to see to believe, and the musical play instruments

Fun place. I had a work function here and found the facility to be large with lots of things to do including: sports fields, play grounds, running trails, and more. Plenty of parking and overall very clean. Good place for kids and familys or for just catching some sun and fresh air.

Pen Park OMG this place brings back memories. I used to play in this park when my brother played baseball back when I was a kid the place hasnt changed very much. playground is still in the same location although they have updated the playground equipment a lot since I played on it. The area where are you can have family gathering Gathering may need a little updating other than that not much has changed about this place and back in the 90s. There are some trails that you can do exercise and stuff on and foot trails to walk around the pen Park location. I did notice that they did add a golf course to the pen Park location and a swimming pool in their Clubhouse that wasnt there back in the 90s at least I dont remember it being there

My kids love to come here to play. Could use more swings. But very family friendly.

Theres a play area perfect for kids, and a nice hiking trail with little areas to work out at. Fantastic park, next to a decent golf course.

The trails are a rollicking adventure, full of mud and puddles, slippery leaves, and minor inclines. Keep an eye out for the abundant wildlife and fungal activity.

Really like this place. Its easy to book, accessable and such a perfect place for an enjoyable picnic with friends and family.

I like the trails by the river. So sad about all the new development around the park tho. So many trees and natural habitat lost forever.

One of the best playgrounds in the area. Bathrooms are open all year. Ample parking. Shady in the morning. Windy in the winter. Lovely view of the mountains.

Beautiful views. Good for picnics - lots of tables and green space - but not for walking/jogging. Most of the park is taken up by a golf course, tennis courts, and ball parks. The nature trails to the river and other places are not stroller-friendly. Didnt know this until we showed up. Great playground area. My 10 month old loved the baby swings. They even have an adult/baby swing where you can both swing safely together!

Pen park has a decent playground area with rubberized playing surface. It also has a playground for smaller children and toddlers. There are Tennis Courts and Baseball fields. There is plenty of open space for playing fetch or flying a kite. There is a wooded area that connects the park areas to walking trails and the golf course which the kids like.

Big park with lots of open space for various sports. They have a nice playground with some great toys I had not seen before, including an outdoor musical instrument selecting the kids really seemed to enjoy.

This is a good park for all ages. My grandkids love the playground area with many activities on a cushioned outdoor surface. Public restrooms are next to the play area. Tennis courts and golf course are close by.

This is our favorite park to go to. Theres a dirt path to play and walk on, great playground, new music addition and a giant field to run around in.

Great park. Play some golf. Play some tennis. Play at the playground. Walk to the river. See a revolutionary war grave. This park has it all.

Went for a group picnic. Glad we reserved a shelter because thunderstorms.

Use the driving range more than the golf course. Range is all down hill and hard to get an accurate read on distance. Golf course itself is OK but a little on the expensive side for what it is.

Kayaking here is great. Start off 29 south of Polo Grounds and end in the park. Give yourself 4 hours for the entire trip.
