Good times. We traveled hours to skate here- such an amazing skate park. It was such a nice day, of course there were a ton of kids.

Went on an overcast saturday. Parking lot was quite busy due to so much baseball! Kids were having fun, adults having fun it was a great happy place. We walked over the great looking pedestrian bridge to the equally impressive concrete skate park. Definitely needed in this town. Stroller friendly in most places but also a very cool trail system between the park and school.

Great trails and plenty of parking! Also has shelters that can be used to host a party or just have lunch and enjoy nature.

The playground is good for kids, the skate park is fun for those who skate (and is well used). The new pedestrian bridge is helpful for getting to that sound of town. But I wish there were more passive natural areas in this park and others around town with simple trails and healthy forests.

A great place to walk along paved trails, skate, or meet up with friends. The Bypass is a safe distance off trail and skate area.

Lots of fun during different events like July 4th, Annual Dogwood festivals etc. or just a family weekend, you will find something out there for fun!

Veitnam veterans memorial is a great place to visit

This was a terrific family park, a quiet palce for lunch.City sold out to YMCA. Now little parking left for non YMCA visits. Terrible change to traffic. Church services Sundays

There for a baseball tournament. Nice fields and have lots of shade trees along fields. Didnt have to get out tent to get relief from the sun.

A nice, well maintained and spacious area for playing on the playground or baseball on the fields. Lots of area for picnics and easy access to the YMCA.

Great looking park! The maintenance staff looks like they did an amazing job on the landscaping also the trash wasnt overflowing like most parks also the amenities like tables and bbq were on point

The Y is great, nice pools, my 11 month old is in pool loving his lessons.!!! Gorgeous building inside and out. See ya there

What I love about this park is it was empty and we got to relax with our dogs. Seen people go in the baseball field and close the gates to have their dogs without leash. Has a playground that my girls enjoyed. The park was clean and their is public bathroom that is also kept clean. That’s a plus.

Skate park is wonderful, but would be nice to have some play ground stuff for little ones.

Nice, clean park. My husband always plays softball here. It is right by the YMCA and a convenient location to get off/on the highway.

It has a picnic shelter. It has a baseball field. It is very big.

Awesome place to watch the fireworks, listen to music, enjoy something to eat or a cold drink from one of many vendors and games with play and bounce for kids to enjoy

This is not a great park. The only reason my family ever goes to this park is because of the Dogwood festival and the July 4th celebrations. I really wish the city would update this park because it’s in a great location.

Recently updated with walking path and skate park. Very nice.

The park seems to have lost so much of its charm since the Y took over. Now, its just another business with a busy, overcrowded parking lot.

Good ball fields: softball, little league and teeball. Little play area for kids and grilling area-pavilions.

Love the new skateboard park

My dog absolutely loves it here. I used to throw her ball a lot here but shes getting quite old and cannot run anywhere near as much but she loves the quiet of it and so much to explore. Playground is lovely angs the whole park has good shade and is very little used. The skate board park is across parking lot and theres talk of moving it to where my dog and I go .. where the old washing pool used to be. I hope all these plans take a long time cause my Dog loves to run off her leash there, since it is safe and well fenced on every side.

Great baseball/tball fields, a playground, and new Y! Convenient public restrooms. Only issue is limited parking Saturday mornings...

Might as well be the Brooks family park. Rude people and horrible little uncontrolled brats running everywhere. Sound like fun......

A nice place to walk my dog that is close to home. I understand the demand for a YMCA, but it changed the whole tenor of the park.

The new gym and pool are quite nice, and staff have great attitudes. The park continues to be a great place to go.

This Place is incredible during festivals and when there at sport competitions

Room for kids to play. Brooks Family YMCA IS located here. Great facility for exercise and fun. The pools are wonderful.

I enjoy the paved trail that goes from about Cville Coffee down to Rio Road. If I loop the whole thing, I can get in about 4 miles and top off with coffee and a snack. Safe but enough off the road that you dont notice the traffic for most of the way and feel pleasantly immersed in the woods and meadow.

Lots of fun, went for a 3 mile hike while the kids worked out at the YMCA

Nice local park. not much for walking around but good play areas for sports. Holds nice community events and good for holding a picnic.

Nice playground close to YMCA usually a few other kids to play with.Ok hiking trail though it can be muddy.

Went to the park to watch a softball game. All was satisfactory, though spectator seating is quite limited.

Recently there is some amusement. It was a little fun

McIntire Park appears to be the second largest recreational park in Charlottesville, second to Pen Park. It is a few recreational fields and playspaces (with a cool skate park announcing Fun is Free spelled out in steamers on a fence facing 250) and a memorial to Vietnam casualties. The rest is beautifully untouched natural space and trees with subtle navigation by mowed walks. You can get to several spaces where you can no longer tell where the major roads or any structural man-made developments are. Ive seen people drive through the park, which I found odd, given that a walk is relatively easy from end to end. Stopping in the middle of it and laying down in the grass in summer was one of my most cherished early memories from my first days in Cville in July, 2016. Great for kids, hiking, dogs, photography, and just about anything else you might like to do on the grass.
