Amazing easy flowing Mountain Bike Trail! I took my 2 year old in her Front Seat Forward Mount on main trail and it was a blast! Then we had a picnic at the lake and of course had to take a pic in front of the iconic tower of power ;)

Id consider myself to be a beginner to intermediate rider, and these trails are so much fun. Lots of nice berms and flow. It takes about 40 minutes if you want to just do the main loop, maybe an hour if you want to do the main and roller coaster loops together.

One of the best maintained trails in Charlotte. It is a cross country trail that is super fun to ride. A lot of first timers miss the main trail entrance. After you start at the parking lot be on the lookout for the actual trail entrance about 500 on the left. It has a small white arrow on a tree about head high. If you find yourself heading straight down a bad dirt road you have missed it.

My son and I visited this trail on a recent trip, we are both experienced riders. Clearly the trail team spends a lot of time and effort to keep the trail riding great. We had a fun time but felt the trail should be rated for difficulty a little bit lower. Not really fast and flowy as there are too many switchbacks and not really technical as theres very few jumps or other difficult features. Lots of fun berms though it was too wet to hit them hard. A great workout!

One of my favorite mountain biking trails in east Charlotte off I-485. I highly recommend for MTBers of any skill level. Total mileage for riding Main, Roller Coaster, and Lake Loop is just over 10-miles. The entire ride for advanced riders can take around an hour. For beginners and slower riders, it can take up to 1:45. So, please make sure you allow plenty of time since park rangers are strict and will close the park gate when the park closes. Also, please be respectful of others on the trail. Not everyone is a fast rider. Properly communicate with slower riders ahead of you so they will move over to let you pass.

This park is so impressive. The climbs and steep hills down allow for major speed. So much fun and very well maintained. This park provides an escape from city life and is a very good workout. I did roller coaster loop and main loop and finished 9 miles in about 80 minutes. Make sure to have water and a snack in the car, you’ll likely need the fuel!

Some of the best trails in Charlotte. There are plenty of challenges and sections that allow for some really good up to speed runs! Rollout coaster is my favorite section.

Gr
Review №62

Not for beginners! Beautiful scenery for being so close to the city. Probably a great day hiking area. But if this is your first experience riding your bike at a “bike park” versus a “greenway”, walk it first. It’s much easier than having to walk it with your bike because the obstacles and narrowness of the path were much more than you expected. The park is well attended on a Sunday afternoon. The fellow cyclists were very kind and helpful. They looked like they enjoyed the challenge.

Ive done the Roller Coaster once and the Main Loop (yellow) several times. I really enjoy the Main Loop because it has good flow and enough elevation changes to keep things interesting. The only thing I dislike is the couple of rock gardens and piled logs that dont have a bypass. It really breaks the flow. Many thanks to the Trailblazers and volunteers who maintain the trail.

This park is largely dedicated to mountain biking, but it is also for trail running, hiking, and birdwatching. The park is about 210 acres in size, with around 12 miles of intermediate level singletrack. This trail requires use of proper mountain bikes and skills. BE aware this park is sometimes closed and locked during, and after, major rain events. Official hours are Sunrise to Sunset, but there is some variance from day to day.
