Cherokee Park is very fun to walk around at, and it even has a fitness station in the center of the park that anyone can enjoy! As of recently a lot of the natural scenery is gone from the derecho so its not as beautiful and it has yet to be cleaned up but even still Cherokee is a great place to hang out and walk around!

This was my first exposure to this lovely park. I have visited this Fair community to see my sister on many occasions, but I have not been to Cherokee Park until today. It is a very attractive scene with a wetlands area in the middle set aside for the overflow from the rainfall that is sometimes abundant in nature. The only correction I would make is that the trail, being gravel and not paved, can be dangerous or at least hazardous for a senior citizen. You have to be on the lookout as you walk to avoid tripping and that is especially true if you are carrying a small child. All things being considered Cherokee Park appears to be a wonderful addition to a fine community. I hope many people have a chance to go there frequently and walk. They even have a station where you can exercise with various outdoor machines that have been placed there. The only other point I would like to make, that is slightly negative, is that you must be sure to guard small children from falling into the creek that runs through this beautiful Park. The city of Cedar Rapids is to be commended for allowing this beautiful part to exist and maintaining it for the community.

Its a short trail that people bring their dogs to. Theres also a small workout area with some newer equipment.

My son and I enjoyed the walking trail at Cherokee Trail Park. The few people that were there, were very pleasant to be around. The wide open area in the center of the 1/2 mile trail, made a nice area to launch my new drone. I would recommend this area for a place to relax or to get up and run the trail.

Could use a little maintenance. The trails need some rock and there are some loose tree branches hanging in the trees above the trail. Nice area to walk with a little TALK.

Nice little wooden space. Unfortunately it appears to be used in ways that would not be considered family friendly.

Short trail good for running, jogging, idle-walking, and dog walking. Recently (summer 2016) replaced the old wooden exercise equipment with nice weather-resistant metal equipment on a new concrete surface at the center of the trail. Under utilized local resource, for sure.

A great trail that is in the open for a safe field of view, yet still mostly shaded. An exercise station in the middle can up your workout, but with no shade at that point the metal equipment gets hot in the summer sun.

Good for exercise. Needs a playground!
