Great museum. A wide variety of paintings and almost every painting has additional information about the painting and the artist. They have a lot of paintings from local artists! The museum also has a little reading area where you can read about everything art! The shop is nice also, little trinkets and interesting books and art for sale!

My significant other and I decided to detour and see what Cedar Rapids could add to our adventure. Museums are amazing and full of knowledge and culture. CR Museum of Art did not disappoint. Worth checking out for sure!Photos were taken for informational purposes only,by me. Pieces belong to their respective creators and questions regarding any details of said pieces should be directed to the Museum Curators. Thank you and do yourself a favor and enjoy art in person, no photograph can substitute the experience and atmosphere... Inspiring.

Nice art museum. Love to go to as many as I can. Its not the biggest museum but they had a tone of cool stuff. The gift shop had very pretty large windows. They were in the middle of setting up another show when I was there so one gallery was closed but still had a good time. The shoe exhibit was fun as well

I love this museum. They host really events for kids most months, and their childrens coordinator is awesome. She really connects with the kids and doesnt talk down to them.Art wise, I was impressed by their collection. They have a lot of stuff by people in the midwest, and things are in great condition. I also love what they have in the areas outside the building. I love walking between the library and the museum because of the sculptures.Overall, a really cool place to visit.

A great little museum giving a feel for the land around it from the artists represented. Roman busts and portraits are also on display. There is a lovely library and a wonderful shop. Plus the opportunity to buy a $5 piece of art from the Art-O-Matic dispenser.

This is a wonderful, but under appreciated place! The exhibits are very well mounted, carefully chosen, and imaginative. The temporary exhibits are nearly always impressive. I am only in Cedar Rapds a few times a year, but I always visit this museum when I come. The gift shop has many works by local artists and has excellent variety.

Besides a modest, permanent Grant Wood exhibit, there’s an eclectic collection including Roman art as well other as art from Iowa artists. And be sure to look at the benches. And not to be overlooked are the impressive palms and cycads in the lobby.

Smaller museum centered around native son, Grant Wood. More of an emphasis on his earlier works, but has several of my favorites, his undulating Iowa landscapes! Located in the old public library. Fairly small museum but nice collections. Building has been expanded from an original library, portions of which have been preserved, including a reading room which is a nice touch. There are however, some under-utilized spaces.

Cool find! I did not expect to see such great art in Cedar Rapids, but they had many famous artists in their collection. These artists were accompanied by many more local talents as well which brought in many other styles of art and ideas.

A Superb Museum. The curatorial staff have outdone themselves in creating not only exhibitions that work, but also that relate to the larger collection and the cultural heritage of Cedar Rapids. In an area that does not get very much attention for its artwork the museum has nevertheless created a world-class collection.

The whole building is such a pleasant place to be and has a lot to offer. The gift shop has many unique and interesting items, often featuring work by local artists. The lobby has a small but beautiful atrium. The first floor has open lounge areas where I can sit and read for a few minutes between clients. The museum itself is well organized and the staff in knowledgeable. The exhibits change so even if you have been here before you can find something new. Admission is very reasonable so, you can take the whole family without breaking the bank.
