The old McDonalds farm is a great place to experience hands on learning with the most gentle farm animals. The staff are also awesome. We have enjoyed going out there weekly (my daughter is homeschooled and she is learning all things animals) so this was a great way for her to watch their behaviors. We have loved getting to know The and pumpernickel (Nikki), the goats, sheep and all the other animals the lady couple months. Looking forward to next April!

Grandview Shelter at Bever Park is nice place to bring the family or multiple people for a get together. This shelter has 2 grills for cooking, several picnic tables, a playset for the kids and plenty of parking. Can be reserved for with electricity for a fee. Bever Park also has a swimming pool, a small petting zoo and several other shelters and grilling areas, also swings and slides for the kids.

My daughter loves coming here on nice days and seeing all the animals. Goats, rabbits, cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and plenty of ducks! Remember to bring a quarter so you can get some corn to feed the animals. One other thing I like about this place is that it is well shaded so even on warmer days its comfortable, but hot days are not recommended just because the animals are less active and dont like to get out. Although this isnt a place you could probably visit often without getting bored, and dont look at spending more than a couple hours here, I still highly recommend it!

We love going to Old MacDonalds farm (for free!) then picnic in the park. The farm has goats, bunnies, calves, sheep, pigs, ducks, and chicks you can pet and hold. They have bike tractors the kids can ride around. It really is a great resource for the community.

Bever park is lots of fun it has nice playground equipment in the front and continues to get more natural as you go towards the back . in the back there are many unpaved trails which go through the woods and are an excellent example of Iowas natural woodlands. the only drawback to this park is that the trails become very slippery when wet. :)

Very scenic and wooded for a city park. Lots of picnic areas with grills and plenty of parking. Also, there is quite a large swimming pool, and a petting zoo.

Historic park tucked in a quiet Cedar Rapids neighborhood that features playgrounds, walking and biking paths, and a municipal pool. A small ice skating rink is set up during the winter months. The park also offers many pavilions to rent for special occasions. If youre lucky, you might spot one of the many deer or foxes that make their home in Bever Park.

Nice, my sister rented the pavilion. But it was more than a walk for kids to go to the bathroom, plus its kind of on a cliff or hill that if they fell it would hurt them. Playground and grilling was right there. That was nice.

Bever Park is a Great place to take your kids. Nice large play area, clean with bathrooms. Old McDonalds Farm lets kids pet goats, rabbits, Sully the small tortoise, a cow and they also have unique ducks and im sure I missed a couple. Really enjoyable. They accept donations in a little black box many people seem to miss. There is a tiny stream that runs through the park with a bridge and HUGE rock neat to check out. The farm closes at 6:30pm. There is also a pool. There are smaller play areas and pavilions in an upper area of the park that you have to drive past the farm to get to. Hidden and private so not a busy area but back up in the woods. This is a big park with lots to do. Great walking area to take the dogs. Sorry for such a long review but hoping it helps those unaware of the hidden possibilities. Have fun☆P.S. I have No idea how my halloween pics got in here...my bad!

This park has so much to offer including the playground, waterpark, zoo, and a great trail through the woods. There is also a large covered pavilion, and bathrooms. The zoo is great, the playground is great, the walking party was a much needed challenge with the stroller. Im no very impressed with the bathrooms. While there are gender specific rooms, the stalls inside do not have doors. On one occasion, there was no toilet paper, but there was also a large group at the pavilion. Just be warned, and maybe bring your own backup if the park is busy. Overall, I highly suggest this park for any age.

$1 voluntary donation for admission. Very friendly staff attendants. Remarkably clean and inviting. The petting zoo is as clean as some peoples houses and front yards. 25 cent dispensers for a child-hand-sized serving of cracked corn to feed to the petting zoo animals. It takes only 30 to 60 minutes to see everything there, but it can be extended with the nature walk pathway and child-sized peddle tractors and a sandbox filled with whole corn to play in. They havent had zoo animals like bears, monkeys or lions since the 1980s so dont expect a zoo experience, nor will you find the unpleasant smells of the old zoo experience.

Nice park with lots of open area for activities. The most frustrating thing about the park is the roads through it. If you try to use a GPS there is a good chance you will be led through these winding roads. Ive heard from a lot of people that thought they were lost and were confused by the layout of the roads. They work well if you want to walk through the scenic route, but not so much for driving through the park. If you can get one of the pavilions they work great for events.
