Want to get into the woods for a hike? This is a great spot not too far out of town. Stop for a woodsy stroll and then continue onto Nederland for a bite to eat.

Staff was friendly at the trailhead and provided a bandana for folks without a mask... trails are beautiful and great for hiking and mountain biking. Suggest hiking on the days that mountain bikes aren’t allowed. Usually one weekday and Saturday’s.

I found to be small. However it has very nice views of the mountains all around and it has trails for bikes and beches to get some rest. However, their bathrooms are OK. They do provide bathroom tissues and sanitizer. But still without water the smell is there and of course flies everywhere.

Not too steep, challenging, or crowded. A perfect 3.2 mile loop for me and my dog to enjoy on a Saturday afternoon where I had low to medium energy. Lots of beautiful high mountain views as well as shade to nestle into.

Went for a run on Canyon and Benjamin loop, beautiful trail, most of the elevation gain happens at the end of canyon loop (clockwise) on the last 1.5 miles. The whole thing was 7mile long (didn’t go on the fourmil link). Nice and scenic trails.

Among the best hikes in Boulder County. Beautiful views of the plains framed by foothills. Well maintained paths. Go on bike free days.

I came here on a weekday afternoon, and we did the loop. It was a pretty easy walk and most of it was shaded which was great. There was also plenty of (free) parking! We saw some people running and biking, but in general it wasnt too crowded. Views are alright, and I appreciate the mileage signs along with all the posts for which trail is which. It took us about 2.5 hours to do the Canyon Loop and Benjamin Trail loop, not including the connector in the north.

We booted up and hit the trail at 11a this morning. Snow covered the majority of the 3m canyon loop but was easily passable with standard boots, trekking pole, and camera. Trail was clearly marked by blue markers nailed to trees. Walked it counter click wise. Even saw some mountain bikers out. Really enjoyed the hike in the snow.

Great trail, some areas are shaded so on a hot day it is appreciated! There is a river at the bottom where dogs could wade and cool off. Trailhead is a little hard to find but worth the effort.

Love this trail. its very convenient for anyone who lives in Boulder. canyon loop trail is really awesome! You have to watch your steps in some areas but other than that not many negatives. Theres a bathroom at the beginning of the trail. There are several benches located in excellent spots for a lovely view. There were a couple signs for Mountain lions but we didnt run into any. All in all it was a good experience and I will most definitely be going again!!

Loved this hike! Pretty easy mostly level gravel path. 3.4 miles in a loop. Some shade. Up and down mild hills. Good for kids. Lots of bike traffic though, and we did get tired of stepping aside for them every few minutes. Facemasks are required at the trailhead and whenever passing someone.

This was a really nice and easy hike. We did the 3.3 mile loop and it wore the kids out pretty well! We saw a few deer too. The mountain bikes made it a little crowded but if you hike on Wednesday or Saturday then it’s closed to bikes.

We went for a hike at Betasso Preserve while visiting Boulder. Its a nice little park near Boulder Canyon. Be aware of construction on Boulder Canyon Drive that impacts traffic getting here. The trails are open some days for mountain biking; we visited on a Saturday when bikes are prohibited. The Canyon Loop and Benjamin Loop made a nice hike with several good viewpoints of the foothills.

It was a free trail with different trails depending on your skill level. The scenery is beyond anything Ive seen! Deer, hummingbirds, mountain loins and more are some of the things I saw. I would recommend hiking boots since some of the trails have mud and really slick gravel. If this would be a first for you definitely try Betasso! Also be aware of bikers on the trails too.

Canyon loop trail was super great and fairly easy. its s great place for a peaceful walk, especially for those who dont hike much. the elevation might be a problem if youre not used to it. As long as you have water and focus on your breathing its not a problem. I though it was perfect and much shorter than some of the trails Ive hiked recently. the greenery and the views are breathtaking. the canyon loop trail is nice and smooth for the most part, pretty level the majority of the trail. excellent for a quick run as well!

Really excellent flowing trail. This was my first time out on the trail and its gorgeous. There are some steady, low grade climbs, lots of semi-technical and Rocky downhill.
