This a beautiful canyon, but undergoing construction for awhile. There are a couple quite long delays (30+ minutes) as we headed south into Boulder. Best to find alternative routes as the signage says. When construction is over I will give it 5 stars!

We are tourists and just wanted to feel like we could take a nice walk in the mountains without the strenuous hike. Boulder Canyon Trail provided that. We brought our jogger stroller for our toddler to ride in and it wasnt terribly bumpy but there were a couple rough patches. Got here here on a nice early October day and saw some rock climbers too for some entertainment.

Stunning! The trail runs along a river through the steep mountains. One of the best hikes I have ever been on because of its beauty. Very easy trail and the views are incredible!

Its definitely for more advanced hikes you have to walk on rock but they can be slippery and there are some that are loose recomend being cautious on this trail.

Pretty views and a long, but very easy and flat trail. You can take anything from a short walk to a whole day walk here.Only downside is the noise, much of the trail is close to large roads.

What a great little hiking trail not to far from the city but far enough. Saw a lot of people going out for a while and it was nice to see the beautiful rock formations and the creek flowing nearby.

Eh, I gave 5 stars cause its better than anything I see back home but as far as Co goes we were pretty bored. Flat, some of it paved, a lot of other people. Pretty scenic, the river is cool, would be great for people not in good enough shape to get to the top of a mountain, runners or just general training.

Very mellow and easy biking and hiking trail up Boulder Canyon. The public park at the trailhead is fantastic for kids, swimming or just lazying around.

Nice scenery, but watch out for the cyclists that appear out of nowhere zooming downhill at Mach 2 speed. Ive also met a few groups of homeless people breaking camp for the night on the creek and tossing their garbage in the bushes. I think Ill let them all be and pick a different trail for the walk next time.

Took a short hike down to the creek with my wife and 3 yr old son. It was a beautiful spot right off the climbers trail. We skipped rocks and waded in the calmer spots. Great spot to have a picnic or just hang out listening to the water and seeing all the birds.

Great trail for a quick paved/gravel hike or bike up to the mouth of Four Mile Canyon. If youre getting used to altitude and humidity this is a great option. If youre looking for more, a short jaunt up Boulder Canyon (bikes might want to go Four Mile) from there you will find access to Betasso Preserve to your right before the tunnel. Keep your head up and you might see some climbers on elephant buttress.

Not the longest trail but very clean and well kept. Families with kids and pedestrians could be a bit more aware of cyclists. On the clear summer day we went, we saw hummingbirds and enjoyed the cold stream.

One of our favorite day hikes! The dirt portion does get very muddy after a rain or snow storm so dress accordingly if you plan to hike the mountain portions (boots are a good idea). Good hike for all ages.

Beautiful mostly paved and gently sloping trail. Great mix of canyon and riverine habitats. Great birdwatching (saw a western tanager, a macgillivrays warbler, vultures, woodpeckers, a dipper and lots of common birds without really trying or using binoculars). Just a relaxing, long walk on this trail into Boulder. You can even take the bus!
