I was a little skeptical about this Lake Mead tour— it seemed like it would be a bit kitschy; however, I’m now a believer. This was an excellent way to spend an afternoon! They have drink and food service on board (smoking is allowed on outside decks), and the history they tell during the cruise is both interesting and entertaining. It’s breathtakingly beautiful— pictures don’t do the scenery justice!BRING A GALLON OF WATER. If you opt to sit on the top deck, as I did, it’s incredibly hot. Stay hydrated (one poor soul had a heat stroke while getting off of the ship). The desert heat (especially with the reflection of the sun off of the water) is no joke. You can always pop inside on the lower decks for some AC.

My wife planned a night for us to go on this dinner cruise. The boat and staff were great. The food was the biggest concern. The food was straight awful. I had the chicken and it was a hard puck. The vegetables were cooked to death. My wife’s was no better. The best “Dam” margarita was a “Dam” shame.I only give two stars because the rest of the trip was fine but for the amount we paid I feel a Dinner cruise should have quality food and this was not it.

Super friendly staff. The boat is clean and well staffed with plenty of drinks and food. Plus a fantastic A/C!!! The cruise had an audio tour playing over the speakers but it wasnt too loud and the information was interesting. Im definitely coming back.

The cruise itself was beautiful, highly recommended it. The dinner was disappointing. My husband had the beef which turned out great. My dinner experience wasnt. I ordered the chicken, I realized it a little too late that mine was partially raw. I heard others complain of the same situation. When they brought it to the waitresses attention they received a free bottle of alcohol. When I also made mention of my dinner, I was offered a beef dish. I of course declined the offer since I lost my appetite, no other compensation was made. Very disappointing.

We had a blast on the dinner cruise! It was a really great deal since we got dinner and dessert. Our waitress and bartender were very quick and informative about the areas. We also saw the Hoover Dam. Although we did have to pay for cocktails, but they were affordable. I would highly recommend this cruise for anyone wanting a nice relaxing night with dining and beautiful views.

A fantastic way to visit the Hoover Dam and cruise Lake Mead at the same time. We took a cruise on the Desert Princess and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome from the very beginning when we bought our tickets. The boat is great, lots of room to move about and view the wonderful scenery as you travel across the lake. Would definately recommend this cruise to all. Thanks to all for a fantastic time.

I give the 2 stars for the view and the excellent waiters and bar tender. The salmon was over cooked and tough/solid. They replaced my meal with the chicken Marsala and that was very bland and overcooked as well. Definite need better chefs if the price is going to be 80$ per person. Also they should inform you of the parks 25$ fee to enter just to ride the boat.

It was good experience overall. Well maintained ship. Air condition was good.There was audio recording being played over the trip regarding the lake and dam.

We had an awesome time on our cruise. My aunt brought us out here during our first Vegas trip and it was so different than everything else around. The lake is beautiful and the Hoover Dam is very impressive. All the info you get on the cruise is nice and we had a beautiful day as well.

Very poor customer service. On August 20th I spent an hour online and on the phone just making a reservation for a dinner cruise on Thursday September 3rd.Just two days before the dinner cruise, I received an e-mail from them telling me how sad they were to hear that I canceled my dinner cruise, I never canceled it at all.When I spent another hour on the phone to find out what the hell happened, they informed me that they were cutting back their cruises to weekends only.Our company coming in from out of town were leaving Saturday morning, so no, I couldn’t move my dates.They told me “we’ll give you a full refund on your credit card”. Six days later, no refund, so I had to dispute the charges on my credit card to failure to deliver services.

Tour was good, roomy seating with A/C. Restrooms on board. No outside food or drinks allowed on boat. Arrive early due to long line to get into park which required fee or use your National Park Pass. Pre paying on website was awful, waited like 10 minutes for the transaction went through. Went on 12:00 pm cruise.

I try to be extremely fair in all my reviews. I have to say this was a horrible experience for my family. First off, staff is miserable and does not want to be working. Second, there is no shade, no umbrella, no air flow inside and being Vegas it gets extremely hot. In fact, while we were on the boat, a lady had heat stroke symptoms. The tour of the actual Hoover dam is ok. Nothing magical. I would love to see customer service improve, as well as their air filters which havent been changed in months.

Nice relaxing cruise. Food was reasonable and good. Friendly staff. Only drawback was in order to do the cruise entry into the park was an additional 25.00.

Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. The mountains surround you as you enter black canyon and head towards the Hoover Dam. There is an pre-recorded narrator who gives all of the historical and geographical information while you ride.There are 3 levels. The second level has snacks and a full bar.Ordered the Best Damn Margarita. It was pretty but too sweet, like a popsicle.The staff was super friendly and the boat took off on time. The ride is smooth. It was very hot so we ducked in and out of the AC.The photo opportunities abound as the mountain views are unobstructed to you across Lake Mead. As well they take your picture before you board and have a framed photo for purchase at the end of the cruise.Parking is down a gravel road so dont drive your black vehicle here.

The perfect experience. I learned a lot about Lake Mead and Hoover Dam on our midday cruise, and the tour was super smooth. I was running late, and the tour staff called to check on me. That was nice. I will be back for the Champagne Brunch cruise soon!

When visiting Las Vegas, it’s worth the trip to take the cruise. Get off the strip for a little while and enjoy the beauty Lake Mead offers. It’s a nice narrated cruise..offering drinks, alcoholic drinks also and snacks. The lake is beautiful and you will see Hoover Dam! Breathtaking views. A must do!

I had a great time! I was pleasantly surprised when we cruised by the Hoover Dam. I would definitely recommend this activity. Now the cost to access the park is excessive, so dont be caught by surprise regarding that, but its still worth it for such a great experience.

It was just ok. The boat was tired and needed upkeep. The lunch was ,nothing special. We could not hear the prerecorded commentary. Go for the history.

This is a fun, educational and beautiful experience, teaching about the geography of the region and also about the history of the Colorado River and the Hoover Dam, and it sails close to the dam. Food on the boat is decent. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the Las Vegas area.

My family and I recently did this tour. It was very pretty and staff were kind. My only complaint is there was no heads up about paying to get into the boat launch.

Scenery was breathtaking...but wasnt crazy how short it was

A very leisurely ride with a decent view of the Hoover/Boulder Dam. Was secretly wishing I was on a jet ski instead, but this is a good time for older folks or if you just want to see and learn about the history of the dam.

Noon tour lasted about 90 min. Slow moving tour is very calming and relaxing. Food service available with bar. Staff was very nice and friendly. Views of Black Canyon are amazing!

We had an awesome experience! We did the Hoover Dam Tour With Lake Mead Cruise, via Gray Line Las Vegas. The cruise was 5-star with the exception of the sound, during lunch... There were plenty of speakers but people were almost yelling to hear themselves over the cruise guides voice so we couldnt hear much any of the information shared about the history of the lake and dam. After lunch, we went on the decks outside and could hear a lot better. So that probably varies depending on the group and hopefully will be better for most. The cruise ship, deal on photos with frame, and overall trip were all excellent. Seeing how the water table has dropped over the years and learning the history of the lake was really interesting. Great value, highly recommended.

Went with the family for my birthday. The cruise was really nice and enjoyable. Great crew and really nice guests. The sunset was beautiful and we took a lot of really nice pictures. The food was okay, which is the reason for the 3 star review. The salad is on the table when you arrive at your table and the salad itself was really tasty. But they took it away when we left the table to take pictures, I had planned on eating the rest of it during our meal. There were 4 of us and three of us wanted the prime rib for dinner. When our server came to the table to take our dinner order, she informed us that they only had one prime rib left, but she assured us it was large enough to share. So my kids ended up ordering the chicken and my wife ordered the salmon. When they announced dinner was being served, we went back to our table just as the food was arriving. The cut on my prime rib was maybe 1/2 thick, which I noticed obviously, but I didnt say anything because I figured it was how they cut all the prime rib. Then I saw the table just before ours get their food and someones prime rib was easily 1 thick! That really was a bit upsetting! I didnt say anything though. My wifes salmon was a bit brown inside but tasted and smelled fine. My kids chicken was dry but edible. The desert was great and very tasty. Over all we had a great time and of course recommend going if you havent been.

This was a terrific cruise that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. Very seanic and a great way to see the Hoover Damn from the water. The only problem was they didnt have enough sandwiches made for the amount of people on board. So if you dont want to go hungry, get in line asap.

Fun boat ride but extremely boring landscape. They take u to the dam but its not spectacular. Pile of rocks. Probably a better tour on the dam.

The 90 minute cruise on Lake Mead was delightful. It was nice learning about Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. The weather was perfect which made for waters that were calm. Had a very relaxing afternoon cruise. We will try the dinner cruise the next time.

This was a great tour for my husband and I. It would be great for families too. We got to see the back side of Hoover Dam, take a relaxing lake cruise and learn about the surrounding areas and wildlife.

Booked this in conjunction with the Hoover Dam tour through Desert Tours. No complaints ts about Desert Tours or the Dam portion of the tour.Dont feel that you should be including the deli lunch. The quality of the product given was much to be desired on soggy roll. Kraft waxy cheese product singles on a slab of ham or turkey with a lettuce leaf and tomato slice are not my idea of a deli lunch.Lower the cruise price and let the guest decide if they want to purchase your sandwiches or bring their own.OR up your quality of the product offered. Maybe hire an outside caterer to supply you with a better quality product. Tasteless offerings cheapens the overall tour. Even a prepackaged sandwich at the airport is better quality and taste.

Took the mid-day cruise.Pros: Was willing to offer a one-time rescheduling to later in the day (later found out demand is pretty low, so not really that special). Views of the canyon walls around the lake are very impressive.Cons:. Before you even get on the cruise, you get charged an additional $25 to access the parking area. This is briefly mentioned in the fine print as an NPS fee, amount is not disclosed prior, but its double the ticket price. We mentioned they should do a better job disclosing this. On-site staff seemed to get lots of complaints and said they were pushing the website to do a better job of disclosing. Online support staff however, pushed back and seemed to imply that the little mention in the fine print was more than enough disclosure.The automated tour guide on the boat is kind of annoying to be honest, would prefer a version not narrated, or with a real tour guide.The tour itself only goes from the dock to behind the Hoover dam and back, you see a very small fraction of the actual Lake Meade.

If you dont visit Lake Mead when you in Vegas then you havent seen all of Vegas They have the most beautiful Lake , You can see the fish all over the docks they come to you they want to be fed You really got to see this

The cruise was lovely and the Turkey sandwich was fresh and more than enough. We really enjoyed going down the canyon and seeing the dam up close. The service at the gift shop was slow as molasses!

Everything was wonderful except the chicken. It was so hard that I could not cut it with the knives given. It also had absolutely no flavor. This is a five star cruise. I would suggest to never order the chicken!

Food was great but 25 bucks for parking is nonsense

Tour was good but short and didnt go anywhere else beside going thru Black Canyon to view the Hoover Dam on the lake side. Learned some history about the lake and Hoover Dam. Cruise location is located inside National Parks Recreation so have to pay entrance fee also.

Really cool to see the Dam from the Lake side. Beautiful weather when we visited in March 2017.

Very well organized and very reasonably priced. Exceptionally informative Captain and crew. I throughly enjoyed the day.

The cruise itself is good, but to get a ticket, there is only one line and you need to wait not a short time to get on the ship

We signed up for the 10 am Champagne Brunch Cruise. First, they kept all waiting and finally at 20 after the hour they announced they were short a server but a new one was now on board and we would be to board shortly. 10 mins. more and they make another announcement and apologize for the delay and allude to the fact they will make an accommodation for the inconvenience. Conveniently they never addressed the issue and we left the dock at 10:45.Unfortunately, the service was worse on the cruise. My wife and I were seated at a window table which was nice. Yet, they had only filled one of the water glasses and it took several minutes to get someones attention to bring more water. There are 2 sets of couple tables next to the windows and in between 3 or 4 large banquet style tables. The banquet tables appeared to get great service but the couple tables were mostly ignored.As we were leaving the ship our server came to us and apologized for the bad service. I find it very odd they knew they were providing bad service but did nothing to adjust. In closing the food was pretty good, although they did run out of a couple of items. The cost is $100 per couple and it was a real disappointment. We could have had a great breakfast on an outdoor patio which I am sure would have provided us with much better value and service.

Stan Grabinski I took this cruise in 2018, and it was a 5 star experience. It was the 12 PM cruise. Went yesterday 12-30 for the same cruise with a party of 6. We where very disappointed. On the previous cruise the staff took the food and drink order at the tables and brought the order to your table. Yesterday, it was horrible. We had to go to the second deck and stand in line. They had only 1 girl taking orders & mixing drinks. We had to stand in line for half the cruise to place our order. When the order arrived, they only had made the order for 5, and we where 3/4 of the way back to the dock. When my order finally arrived, it was my hamburger placed between 2 pieces of toasted bread instead of a bun like the cheeseburger my brother-in-law had???? Anyway the experience yesterday was really bad.

The people, service and food was good. By the time we got on the water there was no promised sunset and you were sailing in the dark so there was really not much to see. Prior to the cruise they told you that you would be seeing the back of Hoover Dam, but when they got to the dam they didnt announce you were there so if you were inside eating your meal you missed it.

It was really peaceful but we didnt even go around the lake. Just straight to the dam around the corner and back. Would have been nice to explore a larger area.

We had a blast. We will definitely be doing this again.

I have been on her a few times every time was great. The boat is well run w/competent captain in trouble or best times you’re in good hands. They feed you well. On dinner tours it has been sometime since I’ve been aboard. Last was New Years cruse w/ Arizona and Nevada celebrations. I’d say go if you have the chance. Do go

Enjoyed visiting the Hoover Dam and a awesome relaxing lunch boat tour on the lake. The kids enjoyed seeing the grandeur of the dam from all perspectives of standing next to it, on top of it, and next to it on the water. Cant believe how low the lake has become over the last several years! Hopefully it starts increasing in depth again soon... Will be back to go on another tour since we just went on the basic tour this time. Great to experience all that this country has to offer and see the ingenuity of past generations!

This is our second journey on this cruise and we loved every minute of it. Relaxing and enjoyable. Stunning wayer views and rock formations. Reaching quite close to the Hoover Dam was quite a highlight. The cafe offers salads, sandwiches, beer and snacks.

Unimpressive tour, but I guess thats what you get for sailing on a lake. Not their fault. Id save the money for when you can take a Bay cruise in the ocean. For the ship itself, everything was good.
