Glenwood Park is a true forest preserve with many specimen oaks and hickories and large, live ash trees. Native forbs and sedges color the understory pastel in spring, sequence into summer blues and yellows, then blaze with brilliant fall colors. Batavia Creek flows through to the Fox River here exposing the impressive limestone banks. A walking path follows the east bank of the Fox River where migrant birds and even Bald Eagles can be viewed. This path cuts through the deep woods to the north. Volunteer restoration workdays are held by Kane County Forest Preserve District to help manage this gem.
