Great place to stop and sleep. The lake is s bit dirty but If youre just sleeping its pretty good and free.Watch out though it seems to be a place for kids to go to and hang out for short periods.Had an issue with a couple that were shinning their lights into my camper and flashing them inside.

When Lake Fort Phantom is full (December 2017) this is a great place to launch a canoe or other boat. There is a concrete launch ramp at the far end (east) of the park. Plenty of wildlife, especially around dusk. Great place to walk dogs.

Groovy little park with dry camping. Not much to it except one scenic area.

Nice area but not much to see during winter. The main picnic area was filthy so they may not clean off season. The bench by the water was the bright spot in the whole park as it was both comfortable and offered a nice view of the water.

Great place to camp for a night, free spots! Roads are a little bumpy and there are three spots big enough for an RV. There are fire pits, and picnic tables. They have a range for skeet shooting, a boat launch and restrooms.

I absolutely love this park. Its big and spacious. For any one looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of town. Its quite and peaceful. Just a real good place to relax and be with nature and ones self or familyand friends. Good for bike riding, walks, running, fishing, bird watching and of course to fly mini planes. One of my fav spots to go.

2019- PITSTOP: Quiet city park where tired rvers can sleep overnight (48hr limit). 3.2 miles from the fwy off-ramp along (FM 600). Follow the parks paved road a short distance to around back: (No lighting there). Cannot be seen from the main road. Road short: dead ends at waters edge. Room to park for about 3 or 4 rvs within the few wooded niches along the treeline. Often empty after dark. Front gate usually open or unlocked; room to drive around it. No drinking water, toilets, nor fire pits. Class B, C, short A. Over 20 difficult to turn round lake side of park.

Nice spot to spend a night or two. There are 3 or 4 in the woodline across from the lake and a few more at the edge of the lake. We stayed in the woodline because it was so windy when we arrived. We also moved to another spot because it was better protected from the wind had less trash. We stayed two nights and had no issues at all. Thank you for the stay, Abilene!
