Grace museum is in Abilene, New Mexico.it was a checkpoint to stop and visit on our way home to California. Since,my name is Grace, I wanted to see it. Very interesting history. Built 1909. 4 level, 2 levels of artist made art, 1 level architecture history, artifacts of the town, inventor of boots, elegance this hotel had in its days. No pictures allow in Grace hotel.

A fun place to go with kids or a date. Theyve got historical things to look at, art, and interactive educational exhibits that kids can do to. Theres also a playing area for kids. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because some of the interactive exhibits were missing parts so you couldnt do it or werent working.

It would get 5 stars if the place had more exhibits open. Other than that it is pretty cool and the kid area is pretty awesome. It has a place for kids under 4 years old that is actually very safe and padded.

The Grace Museum was a great find. We stopped on a day trip to Abilene from San Antonio. We were visiting to see if Abilene was a place to move to barring a job offer. Well, the offer didnt happen, but I got to visit this great museum. My children really like the childrens floor. I enjoyed the art and architecture. I would have love to have seen this palace as a functioning hotel. Even so, I really like my visit. Parking was easy, and the restrooms are clean.

$6 for adults $3 for teens and younger. Kids younger than 3 get in free. Military discount given so thats a plus. Great place for my little future artist to see different art forms. Kidszone was great, even though there was a b day party going on there was enough to keep the kids entertained for well over an hour.

We went as a group and had a guided tour. They have an entire floor dedicated to an excellent art collection. You go up another floor and there is whats called a history collection. It has rooms separated with wall dividers and it shows what a typical home would look like in different periods of time, specifically to west Texas and Abilene. The kids LOVED seeing that. Also, check their website for their events calendar. Sometimes they are closed for private events and other times theyre having events open to the public. Be sure to check.

I love that The Grace offers classes for adults. I have take two classes, so far. The first class was a Chalk Art lettering class. Who knew there was so much to chalk art? Fun and informative. The second class was a painting class. I have never painted. So, it was a new and a great experience, for me. If you enjoy doing art or just want to try something new, you will definitely want to sign up for a class or two.

The Grace is a cherished historical and cultural jewel in Abilenes crown! Whenever we have out-of-town company, it is one of the must-sees on our tours! I also made use of their Art-on-Loan for my Theatre classroom for many years--their educational support was a godsend to me! I am so grateful for their tireless efforts, on behalf of Abilene and the surrounding area, to bring culture and a sense of pride to our corner of The Prairie!

We also like seeing the history of Abilene, it is very interesting. They have a great place for kids to play and learn. I would recommend donating to get the free passes. First visit and surpised at the level of art exhibits, education and multi-purpose space. I really enjoyed the opportunity to expose my daughter to modern and abstract art as well as history. The history portion I simply adores. I took my Toddler through the art exhibits first then ended in the childrens museum portion. Way above my expectations(which mean little in the grand scheme...) for such a small town. History portion was my favorite because of the life size displays and artifacts. Finally, I think though not as big, the childrens museum portion was just enough education and exploration for my toddler.
