I will have to say, there was a lot more to this museum than I originally expected. Didnt appear to have much space, but actually takes up about 3 floors of the building. While I do think their outdoor tanks could use a good deal of maintenance, they had some very interesting exhibits inside. I wished I had a little more time to look them over, but being with a 6 year old meant we barely stopped for 30 seconds even at the interesting stuff. He and I both found their miniature battle scenes pretty impressive. I will try to go back again sometime soon without the little one.

This WWII museum is one of Abilenes hidden gems. There are 3 floors of various aspects of the war. There are American uniforms, guns, equipment, medals, and much more. They have a whole section dedicated to Nazi memorabilia from their weapons, guns, equipment, uniform, medals, etc. Theres a section dedicated to the holocaust, a prisoner of war section, another dedicated to different vehicles including a tank, and so much more. The admittance fee is just $5 for adults and its definitely worth the price. Spent over an hour here and Im highly satisfied. This is a must come!

Very good background on the men of the suicide division. The place is a bit long in the tooth, but worth a visit if youre interested in WWI, or have a family member that served.Excellent tribute to those who sacrificed to protect our freedom.

First class museum in downtown Abilene! Enthusiastic staff presenting well laid out displays of World War 2 history with an astonishing amount of artifacts. Magnificent small scale dioramas fill the basement, and the prisoner of war display on the first floor is astounding. Full scale dioramas and an assortment of vehicles round out the tour. Well worth the time to visit.

This was a wonderful experience. An opportunity to remember the man a women that help won the war. The three story building is full of artifacts from the war.The basement has a collection of dioramas representing battles where the 12th participated. The first floor show the beginning of the 12 and the different theater of operations where this division was deployed. The second floor has a collection of Nazi memorabilia and there is a room dedicated to the Holocaust.

Since my dad was in the 12th armored, this was a must. This was way better than I expected. 3 floors and some armored vehicles outside. We went during the Vietnam display of dog tags from Texans that were killed in Vietnam. My father in law found his brothers dog tags which was pretty emotional. Lots of displays and info on where they went and what they did. I was very impressed and everyone should see this. Its a great memorial for those men that fought for our freedom.

The museum covers so much of the history of the 12th Armored Division that you can spend a day to see it all. Staff was helpful finding info about my Father who served in the 12th. Great detail about liberation of concentration camps and participation in several key actions. Worth the visit; worth the detour.
