Fun little park with statues from well-known kids stories. Our kids liked seeing and identifying the different items. My favorite part were the large stone blocks inscribed with quotes from authors and passages from their books.

Correction on my previous review - This is a family friendly, mellow, outdoor activity. There are life size figures/sculptures (made out of some type of metal, sorry not sure). All are characters from mostly well known classic childrens stories, ie. The 3 Little Pigs, Charlottes Web, and some newer books. The garden is laid out nicely with a walking path, benches, a small grassy area, and plenty of shade.

Was walking home I saw it for the first time, I loved it. Saw a memorial stone/bench from the family of one of my dearly loved and missed residents, dedicated to their grandchildren. They have many more there and not only did I enjoy the words of wisdom from aurthors and others but I needed them and there reminder that no matter what happens in my life, God is always with me.

This was a cute stop for us on a recent road trip. Perfect for a quick but entertaining break. Lots of shade cover made it pleasant even in the Texas heat. Its a wrap around trail on the outside of the civic center in Abilene. Plenty of parking and plenty of photo op spots! My favorite things were the benches with quotes from book characters and authors. Highly recommend!

Wonderful setup of storybook statues all over downtown and at the Convention Center. Clean, manicured lawns and parks. Was helpful to get the kid booklet at the Depot (Visitors Center) downtown. Even my teenagers loved it. Was fun to find the characters and books that seem to have inspired the animated movie Rise of the Guardians which is a family favorite. Was trying to find something to do during this Covid time, and this was a surprising, fun stop. The park is full of benches with quotes from books or childrens authors. Delightful.

This is a great place to visit for kids to see story books come to life through statues. The garden is well built and designed. There are a bunch of places to sit and rest if you need to. There are quotes from various story books throughout the garden as well. It looks like they have purposefully left room so they can continue to add statues in the years to come. It will be fun to continue to go back to see how the Garden changes and improves in the future.

Absolutely Love the Storybook Garden. It allows such a wonderful visual to our childhood stories. My granddaughter loves being able to act out the lifesize stories with the statues. So much fun and a nice way to spend about an hour on a sunfilled Sunday.

I loved this place! All the quotes made me want to cry because they were so beautiful. The statues were remarkable and took me back to childhood. My only complaint is that I never found the third set of mittens and have concluded that they must have been taken down somehow cause I feel like I looked everywhere! But I could still just be missing them.

This is a very well done collection of statues paying tribute to the classic storybook characters, my son very much enjoyed seeing these characters brought to life. When you arrive at this park, be sure to check out the sign because it will also give you a map to other statues that are scattered throughout downtown, all within a few blocks of each other. It was easy to navigate and the streets were not too busy to walk across. This is a definite must-see to bring children to enjoy.

Lots of love (and money) went into this and it shows. Very high quality outdoor art exhibit, with all the sculptures being from childrens book. Looks like it hasnt been here that long as the plants are still growing up the trellises. We visited in the evening and there was still enough light to enjoy it.

The story book garden is a sight to see. Amazing sculptures done by talented artist. Its even more wonderful when you attend the C.A.L.F during which a new sculpture is revealed in honor and dedication of the featured author. My kids enjoy attending the festivals and just taking a stroll through storybook garden to take in the sights and splendour.
