Best place to launch kayak and head to Masonboro island preserve. Protected from Atlantic so easy paddling. Ample free parking.

Great place to launch you boat for a fun day on the ICW! Perfect day!

Theres only a single ramp, so it backs up pretty fast. There are two floating docks and both could use some repairs. Parking for trailers is plentiful and the lot is set up well for traffic flow.

Great not too hectic boat ramp for the area. Less traffic than Wrightsville Beach boat ramp. Although, it is very small, you most likely wont find a parking space when you pull in unless its a week day. Weekends are absolutely nuts but if you get in line to put your boat in and wait for someone to come back who is parked at trails end you can usually get a parking space in 30 min or less.

Free parking. Fills up quick. Theres a port-a-potty available if you need it. One boat ramp that tends to be busy in the morning and late afternoon.

Decent amount of parking but does fill up. Limited boat ramp space can back things up on a busy weekend. We used it to launch kayaks.

If youre looking to gain water access and not wanting to do the public ramps at CB or WB then Trails End is just right. Easy in and easy out.

Great location, boat ramp, seawall with steps to the little beach at low tide. Plenty of trees and shade. Access for kayaks as well. Directly across the sound from Masonboro. Porta potty serves as public restroom.

Its good to have a public boat ramp nearby but ts has only has one ramp and on many days and most weekends during the season its a very long wait to find a space to park and get the boat in the water. There are not that many spaces available for parking trailers. Also when the tide is low its takes a real seasoned boater to get in and out.

Great little boat ramp to launch from. Tide drops a lot tho so catch it right for your boat. When you pull in drive to the left and around to the right. It was dark and my first time there and I drove in wrong.

This is a great, small park. Not a lot of parking here but if you come early (or late) youll probably be able to find somewhere to park with a trailer. Decent ramp but you have to be vigilant about knowing the tides out here. I always enjoy coming by here and sitting at the tables or at the water and just relaxing. Great place to drop your kayak to paddle over to and around the islands. Love love love.

This is a good ramp for smaller boats. I dont recommend the ramp for anyone who isnt confident in their trailering skills. Parking is tight and chaotic; I once had to de-hitch my trailer to maneuver out of my spot because someone blocked me in.

Great boat ramp however going in and to the left then towards the right was confusing at dark, luckily it wasnt busy. Nice kayak launch also. Tide change was about 4 feets worth of difference.

Physically Good boat ramp, but a conveyor belt of boats getting in and out of the water, and ZERO parking! Nothing for a kayaking launch. Water traffic is horrendous with full of people self centered, inconsiderate and downright hateful. If you kayak be aware of this. Almost seen a man get hit by a boat at the ramp as the kayaker was in the water. Beware of people fighting, stabbed, over launching boats and parking, as well as double parking!

Very hard to launch a boat on low tide. No protection from current or wind. Nice placeFor small boats and kayaking

Ke

The location itself is great! What isnt great is the boat ramp. It desperately needs to be enlarged & add a separate kayak launch. We put our kayaks in from the floating dock on Sunday to avoid the ramp itself. Even the floating dock was packed with boats loading & unloading. As we were at least 6-8 trucks with trailers were waiting in line for the ramp. In a prior visit we saw another man in a kayak nearly get backed over on the ramp as he was entering the water. Ill continue to put in here as it is the only public place you can put in to access Masonboro island. My advice here is to have plenty of time, patience and use extreme caution.

This is the only boat ramp in the masonboro area. New ramp and fairly well maintained docks. It gets backed up on weekends and is unusable on the 4th of July when the college kids take over.

Good place to launch a boat for free, ample parking for trucks and trailers and a nice little dock for some casual fishing or recreation. However during the summer it can get busy and at times there will be a line to use the boat slip so be prepared for this.

This is a great location to put a boat/kayak in the water. Easily accessible from Masonboro Loop Rd and a quick ~45 min easy paddle to Masonboro Island. If you dont mind paddling, this island is a great destination. It is only accessible by boat so its usually very quiet and you might get lucky and see a turtle as they nest here! Just remember, if you bring it in, be sure to bring it out!
