Really nice and isolated. Just a strip of sand. Not much more to say. Tried fishing the inland side but nothing was biting.

You can only get thereby boat, and you can always find solitude.

Beautiful, basically untouched island! Amazing to see such a beautiful place not ‘modernized’ yet by man! Loved the protected bird areas.

The island is a wildlife sanctuary, just south of Wrightsville beach. As a wildlife sanctuary island, you need a boat to get there. If you have your own boat (even a kayak), it is easy to get there from Wrightsville Beach. There are also charter boats and taxis that run out there. Modest price per person. You will probably land on the intracoastal side of the island. It is a short hike over to the ocean side, where there is a beautiful beach. Amazing that there is such place so close to civilization!

Best in all the world. Please take care of it and pack out any trash if you visit.

A critical seabird nesting area with sensitive vegetation. Leave the dog at home, pack-in and out, and enjoy the tranquility of this very unique sanctuary.
