Me and my wife stopped here for quick hike. There are beautiful views and well marked trail. The only negative was closed gate and lack of parking lot. Everyone was parking on the side of the road.

I myself am not into open field camping, I prefer private wooded spots. Molly Stark was a lovely campground though, staff is super friendly and the grounds are very well maintained. Beautiful drive getting there!

Actually we just stopped off here to use the restroom and weve been here a number of times in the past great place to have a picnic.for those who would like to go camping they do have campsites along with some nice sites for RV vehicles. Youre right down the hill from I believe its called hogback mountain.if you stop off here in a clear day as we did theres a nice little store in there that you can buy a lot of knickknacks and maple syrup and other things for the tourists. Unfortunately the restrooms are closed because of the pandemic.I always find that annoying its simply to me its the staff being lazy and not wanting to clean the bathrooms.if the weather is really nice you can see all the way down into Connecticut probably a hundred mile view I would say. Down the hill from here is the Dutton farm stand, which always has a lot of good quality produce Im surprised they actually still have their own raspberries I would have thought they would have been killed off by the frost but it looked like.they do make a lot of pies and such and breads they have their own bakery right there on the site.

What a beautiful state park. We did a day pass to picnic and the ranger encouraged us to drive around because we were interested in camping there eventually. We did a short walk, but the trails look wonderful. 10/10 will go again.

I went to this campground with my family and at 10:15 pm ranger Mike came walking up aggressively toward our site and asked us to ‘be quiet’ as he ‘could hear us from the road’ we did have our radio on, probably volume 5, and he started walking away and then turned around to tell us to turn off the radio too, which we did.He then proceeds to the campsite next to us and tells them the same thing. We say ‘we can’t hear them’ and they reply ‘thank you’ and so he comes back, knocks on our lean-to louder than ANY of us were talking and says ‘I just asked you guys to be quiet and to turn off your radio’ we said ‘it is off’ and he says ‘no you only turned it off because you saw me coming’ mind you, it had been off since he asked us. Then he goes back to the other site he had already been to. And on his way back comes over, very aggressively, and says ‘I’m here cleaning bathrooms during a pandemic for you! You can find another camp ground’We proceeded to tell him how rude he was and that we wouldn’t be back.Ranger Mike has SDE, and a power trip problem. He was shaking as he was saying the last sentence to us and stormed off.Molly Stark; get better ‘rangers’And as a Vermont Local,We won’t be back.

As Someone who loves exploring abandoned ski areas, and hiking in general, I loved visiting Molly Stark State Park. The trails here weave around Hogback Mountain, a former ski area which operated here into the mid 80s. These a fire tower at the top of the mountain which provides nice views of the area, and its cool to see the remains of the ski area.

A true gem of a State Park. Clean, quiet, great value. Of course no hook ups so if you need them look elsewhere. Very handy to attractions in this part of VT. You can also use the beach at Woodford SP 20 minutes to the west without paying day use fees if you are a camper at MS SP.

Great hike to the fire lookout platform. Spectacular views in all directions. Well marked and worn trail. If you are in your 20s Id say it was easy ... if your in your 50s I would call it intermediate. About 2 miles round trip over mostly rocks and roots with a moderate grade. Recommended.

Pulled off the highway because our van was making a noise, I wanted to see what the problem was, but one of the most rude park employees I have ever met in the whole country, told me I had to pay a fee, before I could even take a look at my vehicle, what an uncompassionate person he was. If hes an example of a Vermont state employee, shame on you!
