Perfect place for everything except swimming because its sewer water and the water is super brown and dirty but this PLACE is super clean with great trails. You can go exercise hiking fishing. Bring your kids here or have family events or cook outs. Amazing animals and birds here. Very put in the open so as safe as can be as a park. You can do your sports here as well like skate boarding was really good because theres so many straight paths that end in curves with up hills And downhills

Had an excellent time at this zoo. The path is straight forward and you see everything twice. They had different staff teaching about animals throughout the day and the goat petting pen was fun for the kids. Some of the animals were not out but it was about mid day. Park was clean and a good deal for admission. Only spent about 1.5 hours here too.

Brandywine Park is a really nice Urban park that is part of the Delaware Greenway. It runs into Alapocas Woods which is another beautiful park. Nestled along the Brandywine River the park boasts paved walking tracks, shaded picnic gardens, a rose garden, and the Brandywine Zoo. It also hosts events such as the Brandywine Arts Festival every September.

All the parks are great!! My favorite is the stretch from Rockford Park, down Kentmere Pkwy past the art museum, along the banks of the Brandywine River and paper mill aqueducts, to Monkey Hill and the Brandywine Zoo. Lots of different terrain and scenery throughout the parks keeps it from getting boring, I feel like Im always spotting new and interesting stuff. Tennis/basketball courts, baseball diamonds, at least one 5K cross country course, playgrounds, off-leash dog parks, hiking/biking trails, sledding hills, zoo (pretty extensive for how small it is!), etc etc...You name it, the Wilmington parks have it.

Took my 3 yr old grandson to the Can Do Park there. What an amazing, educational, and just all-around fun place for the kids. They have a playground area complete with multiple rock-wall climbing areas, sliding boards, etc., and interactive electeonic educational stations, and small telescopes to see the beautiful surrounding gardens, etc.; all with the soft rubber flooring throughout all play areas, and a great big sandbox complete with beach toys and articulating arm scoops that let the kids feel like their working with construction trucks!I promise the kids up to 10 will LOVE it; worth the trip and ITS FREE OF CHARGE!!!

Great park. There is a ton of space to play in the grass of you want like soccer, kickball, etc. There is a pavilion available if youd like but they have a good amount of picnic tables placed all around to be able to eat. Theres bathrooms available with family bathrooms as well, and there is also a drink vending machine. The playground itself is awesome. Its called the Can-Do playground, I believe it was made for kids with autism and such to help them. There are a couple different jungle gym sets (I think thats what they are called) for kids to play on, with multiple slides on each one and one has a slide in it to go from one level to the next. There is also little interactive setups on the gym sets for the kids to play with and learn like one teaches about different types of water (rivers, storms, things like that) one is a car setup they can do plus others. They have a huge sand pit even for the kids where you can bring your own toys to dig and mess around with but they also have claws they can sit on and dig with. Theres even all different kinds of swings for kids with different needs but they also have swings where a parent can swing with their kid at the same time. Theres a little set up where the kids can climb up one set thats made to look like trees even, plus a few more things here to play with. This playground is absolutely amazing and my kids love it, heck I might love it even more lol. My son has autism and just cant get enough of this place and all things he can mess around with and run around on. I know this is an extremely long post but I cant say enough good things about this place I highly recommend it for everyone.

This park is so magical!! I grew up blocks away from here. I could walk down the street and come make up imaginative games on the banks of the Brandywine River. The rose garden is beautiful and they have a lady bug release party there every year. The architecture of the huge fountain is historical. The Brandywine Zoo is literally across the road from the park. And you can drive an old, climbing, cobblestone road thats locally known as Monkey Hill to a pretty cool playground. Called Monkey Hill because the building offset to the left of the zoo used to house monkeys of all sorts.

Im very grateful that Delaware has such great state parks. Honestly, you wouldnt expect it since its such a small state. Just make sure you buy a state park sticker for your vehicle. Theyre not that expensive. Stop trying to buck the system by parking outside on the street or whatever it is you do to scam. These are our parks and we should be happy that Delaware takes such pride in their park system.
