I love this campground! Our family always go here around sunset time and explore the exotic rock formations. Its so peaceful and beautiful. You can reserve the site. A must visit when you come to Joshua Tree National Park.

An easy 0.5 mile loop interpretative trail, more off the beaten path so less crowded than the rest of Joshua Tree National Park. Drive through the campground to the southwest end. The parking lot is smaller.

Such a great place to catch the sunset and stargaze. They have bonfire pits and picnic tables too.

The scenery is very beautiful. It may not be enough for those who like the trail, but its a great trail for beginners and kids. We were able to see rabbits, rats, lizards, caterpillars and yellow to pink flowers. If you are lucky, you can see the turtle, but due to the threat of extinction, you only need to take pictures and look at them without touching them.

We love all these trails...if you want a trail isnt as surrounded by people but still cool scenery, then try this area. Great day areas to park and hike in the Indian cove side

Nice little trail. Appreciated the explanations about the local flora and fauna. Great time to go right now just after the big wash came through. It seemed to be bringing out creatures and washing up interesting things we may not have seen otherwise.

Beautiful, stark vistas of the desert and the rocky outcroppings. No dogs on this trail, which is a side trail before you get to the campground.

Beautiful nature trail through typical high Mojave desert environment. We went in early April and there were flowers everywhere. Other hikers were looking for a waterfall in the rocks but I suspect that would only be flowing in Jan or Feb.

Love the rock formations but the parking lot loop makes you think the trail is in front of the parking. The signs to the trail are away from the rocks off to the right of the parking. Pit toilets but they are clean and dont smell. Just need more signs to help first timers. Another group went on the wrong trail too.
