The casino was small, but nice. You walk in for the screening and they check your temperature. The night I went it wasnt overally busy, so it was easy to keep your distance from every. The staff was all wearing mask, and still very friendly. We had a good time even though I didnt win any money.

Security for the virus was low key, not obtrusive. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly workers, security is polite and respectful, while maintaining a very visible presence. Machines offer variety and fun. I had the good fortune of walking out ahead after 6 hours of play, not bad.The only complaint I have is the snack bar/food service. Most items offered are way overpriced with skimpy portions. It cost me about 15 dollars to get 6 tiny pieces of chicken for chicken tenders, and they were hard and full of batter. About half of them were inedible, hard as a rock and had to be thrown away. 15 dollars ??? What a waste. In addition without being busy it took them almost 25 minutes to get my order which meant hanging around the little food court instead of playing.apparently they had forgotten my order.Other than that it was a pleasant and fun experience and Id go again not next time i wont order any overpriced food. The bar personnel were very friendly and quick in serving drinks.I recommend checking it out.

So glad we were able to come our first time back since the reopening. Had a great time, tripled my money, and received a really great gift. As seniors we can only come once a month, but we look forward to coming each month we are able too. But its worth the 2&1/2 hour drive, all the employees so nice. Some of the patrons not so much!!!

Casinos are usually fun until they take and keep money you should not have spent there.Id like to have just one descent win. Instead of always being the chump who should know better.

Customer service was never great at this place but today was the worst.We received a postcard saying that we have free play so we went. The person at the counter said that we didt have any free play and those cards were printed and sent out by mistake. Unbelievable.Since we will be moving out soon we asked to close our accounts so nothing more will be sent to our address and the same person at the counter said that we need to go and see the security guard and fill out the form to be excluded from the casino. Thats unheard of. Thats how they remove you from the mailing list. Treating us as criminals!!! We spend plenty of money in this casino before and thats what we got in return. Awful feeling.We would like to hear some comments from management but very doubt that we would.

Well the wine was good, going around cleaning up things for its good, but they really need to hire somebody else to help with the food

Horrible customer service, its filled with low life who just want to hang around and make a mess in the casino or restrooms. When you voice your opinion with mgmt they do not care.Club 28 has a bunch of uncaring employees. Its the people who have jobs and spend real money they should be the ones who are given good gifts. I spend a ton of money at this casino and they treat me poorly.I refuse to spend my money in a place like this that does not treat people with respect. Low income people should not be allowed in any casino

Drove all the way over here from Yucca Valley for happy hour and to find out (waiting patiently for atleast 3 minutes for service) they were only accepting cash because their computers were down and how can a bartender not know what a Tokyo Tea is? That will be my first and last visit there, I will stick to Morongo, San Manuel or Pala.

We were visiting family stationed at the 29 Palms Marine Base and couldn’t park on base.You provided a safe place for a older retired couple to visit family serving the USA. A few old school 3 wheel slots for a penny or nickel for budget players. Good variety of people, including young due to the proximity to the Marine base.

Never in my life have i seen a casino less willing to try to work with there customers on any issue, especially their club players. There was one helpful staff member named Christina. She understands business formulas and was willing to go above and beyond. Two problems though. First she works graveyard, second- as soon as she tries to go above and beyond, those above use the word heard most often there- no.The gal running the club player counter today actually head the nerve to admonish me for obtaining a card outside of her work hours. The issue arose because my wife played over $600 one morning and those points were not applied to her account. Christina told us to return later in the morning and she would leave a note for day crew who could help. All day crew did to help was advise us that if the player doesn.t have their card , all they have to do is input their phone number to receive credit. Ŵe told her that was our first tme hearing that. She responded by telling us thats what happens if you try to initiate benefits outside of her working hours. I found that odd because the casino is there to relieve me of my burdensome money 24 hours a day. They cant cordinate their players club with Casino hours. As far as a resolution to the problem, she did get the note but, dont plan on credit being applied because it is too difficult to verify (do her job). So now both issues are our own fault because we dared to play after midnight. Trying to redeem club points brought a whole new host of issues. All answers to questions were no. Heres one for their board- learn to say let me see what i can do instead of no all the time.

After being closed for two months, Tortoise Rock Casino announced their reopening on May 22nd. I was happy to hear the changes they made to keep everyone safe. They removed 50 percent of the chairs, masks required by both customers and workers, constant sanitization of machines, social distancing, no self serve of drinks, health screening and temp check of all before entering the casino. They also purchased a new air cleaning system which also sounded good and made me feel somewhat safe even better than going to Walmart or the store. Well I decided to check it out yesterday afternoon. They screened me in the car before even parking which was great. So here I go into the casino with gloves and mask on. Extra gloves and sanitizer in purse. What I noticed during my visit was everything they claimed. What was disappointing is the casino was NOT enforcing their own rules. The worse was all the smokers. They still had to have their cigarettes which meant they were keeping their masks down so they could smoke. Why doesnt the casino have a separate area outside for smokers at least until this pandemic is over. Everyone else is having to breath their droplets and no one at the casino did anything about it. It was like everyone was falling back into their old routine. Even chairs were being moved next each other.Tortoise Rock needs to do something about this. I love going to this casino but its not safe like they said it would be. Be Ware if you intend to visit them. Its not safe.

They recently updated their food place.It is called the Oasis Grille. The food there is so, so, And the prices are not to bad. But you can do better elsewhere.So unless you are here for the casino, there is no reason to come just for the food. But they did try to make it a bit nicer. They now have cakes and pies out. That is neat, but DAM! The prices on that are high As F!The place does have a lot of slot machines — a few card tables.Nothing special but if you are in the area and want to get away for a bit I guess you might as well come.They also have music bands they are wanna be big stars playing big hits. But hey many times it is free, so that is nice!Oh, and they have free soda, so this is neat as well.They have this new music with BBQ I have not tried that like to. Sometimes I will. When I do, I will try to update my review with that experience.

Brother and I stopped by last night for a couple hours (11-29-2019) and the smoke was terrible! I think whatever filter system they use must had been broken. Ordered a sandwich from the little cafe and they gave me a pager. After 1/2 hour pager didnt go off so checked at counter and food was ready but cold. Its nice that 29 has this little casino for entertainment but their management needs to address issues like this to make the experience more enjoyable.

Cool little casino in the high desert offering a full bar and eatery. They have both slots and tables and $10 bucks free play for newbies The staff was helpful and really friendly. The only downfall to this casino is it isnt a huge building so I feel like the cigarette smoke is more prominent. Thats not enough to take away any stars. Casinos are the one place people who smoke can feel welcomed. Overall this is a great casino for the high desert locals and visitors. I will definitely go back.

Dropped by for lunch to see what the place has to offer. Food service was non existent, food was below average, and for 2 cheese burgers and wings it took 37 minutes before our food was located. Tried to find a manager or supervisor, but the security guard that either made a phone call or went to find a boss never returned.

They allow smoking through out the whole casino, even with covidRona was nasty and obviously a lot of people didnt have masks on cause they were smoking!

Im disabled & parked within the blue lines of a handicap space. I wasnt in the casino for two minutes & a short security guard tapped me on the shoulder & told me I had to move. Management made NO EFFORT to assist me in dealing with this BULLY! NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! If I can post a picture of this BULLY I will so others can avoid him for you choose to go there!

Not like Vegas, that is for sure! It is somewhat lame compared to Vegas.But for being Twentynine Palms, It is not all that bad. Smells like smoke but the place is clean. Plus all you can drink free soda is a nice plus!
