We used blue lakes for my wedding transportation and they were amazing! Rick was our driver and he was so courteous, kind, flexible, and always early! He helped me on and off the bus with a large dress every time, and made our day go perfectly. He dealt with so many different groups and everyone of them couldn’t say enough kind words about Rick! Thank you!!

We had Rick as our limo bus driver for the entire day of my daughters wedding. Not only was he early for every stop, he was professional, courteous and helped make the day go perfectly! He helped the bride and bridesmaids get on and off the bus, and even encouraged them during the very hectic and stressful wedding day. He helped us improvise the schedule as well. Thank you Rick!!

If I could give negative stars I would. Wedding booked shuttle to/from Shanty Creek and Torch Lake. Last shuttles were at midnight and 1am. Shuttle no showed since 11:30pm. No answer, no communication, a wedding venue full of guests waiting to get back to the hotel. If you are relying on this service in the middle of northern Michigan where there is no Uber or Lyft - do NOT count on them. Inexcusable incompetence. Complete failure. Do NOT ever use!

Didn’t show up to Pick up my boss on her birthday weekend wine tour! I originally scheduled on Saturday due to COVID restrictions and weather I had to change to Friday. I spoke with Ryan multiple times confirming Friday. He agreed to the date and time change then never showed up. I had to book all the reservations at wineries he said none we needed I double checked and that was wrong also. Would strongly recommend not using them. Birthday weekend ruined. Best part of all he denied having the multiple conversations! Wow!!

I am writing to tell you of the wonderful experience we had using your bus service this past Saturday, September 14th. Your bus was in beautiful condition, arrived right on time and your bus driver, Fred, went above and beyond what was necessary. He was kind, informative, helpful and humorous. We just used Blue Lakes for a 3000 student conferance at the Grand Traversa Resort and they did a phenomenal job, Drew was very helpful with coordinating student pick ups and even ran runs to pick up forgotten luggage for students. It was a great experience!!

We used Blue Lakes by the Bay for a wine tasting tour with 6 people total. We used one of the black SUVs and it was perfect for our small group. Ray was our driver, and I would definitely recommend him. He opened the door for us every stop and assisted me out of the vehicle (which was needed since i was wearing wedges and drinking wine). We had on and off showers the whole day but Ray would run in an umbrella if it was raining when we exited. Ray was even able to squeeze us into a couple extra wineries . I would tell anyone who asks to request Ray as their driver for a great experience!

HIRE DREW! He was absolutely amazing for our girls trip. He arrived on time, was kind, funny and super informative on the Traverse City area, giving us tips on winery’s and also landmarks! He made our weekend that much better! Thanks Drew!!

6th year in a row now we’ve used Blue Lakes as the transportation for an annual 30-40 person event. Ryan the owner is a world-class guy. Very down to earth and professional. Their office staff is timely, prompt, and communicate great. And finally if you want THE BEST driver then ask for DREW. He is a rock star! He’s driven our event for 5 straight years in a row and does an absolutely incredible job. He’s the most hospitable, professional and reliable host you could ask for...not to mention so much fun!

We hired a limo bus through Blue Lakes for our Sip and Savor weekend in May. We had an outstanding experience! The limo bus was very cool, very clean, and our driver, Drew Donegan, was perfect....he went out of his way to make sure we had a great time and got to as many wineries as possible. He was so fun!!! We will definitely be requesting him next time!

Superb. By far the best youll find in Traverse City or all of northern Michigan. They also do airport runs, which I didnt know. They did an amazing job with a fleet of buses for our wedding.

This is my second time reserving a wine tour with them. Definitely worth the money! I was able to try both the peninsulas of Grand Traverse Bay area (one peninsula for each tour). Each tour was friendly, informative, and fun. I was never pressured to rush for the next stop. We had the opportunity to visit one more winery location from our original itinerary. I thought we were lucky during our first time but it happened during our second time with the tour as well! I definitely recommend using their service again when I want a tour (even if I visited both peninsulas). I appreciated their consistencies even if we had different drivers and we visited TC during different times of the year (September and June). I would like to have another wine tour to see the other wineries if possible since there are a lot of wineries in the peninsulas. I was recently informed, that they can plan a different tour for me to visit the other wineries for my next tour. I am definitely going to plan my next trip to Grand Traverse Bay soon!

We rented a limo bus for Sip N Savor and it was amazing! The bus was awesome and our driver Drew Donegan was amazing. Drew made the experience so much fun, joining us in singing at the top of our lungs! He was so helpful and courteous, excellent experience!

I called By the Bay Transportation to get a quote on renting a limo to take my daughter and a few of her friends to their Senior Prom. It was not only the least expensive but they have the most amazing staff. Debbie arranged the evenings itinerary with me. I had never rented transportation for anything let alone a prom...she was so informative, patient, accommodating and funny. She brought up things I never would have thought of, to ensure the night was perfect for the girls! The driver Shirley had great ideas that she offered to the girls for places to take pictures and the girls just loved her. I would recommend them for any occasion.

June, 2015: We attended a conference in northern MI and wanted to take part in a wine tour. I contacted, By the Bay Transportation, as recommended by the resort. I was very impressed with the representative that explained the service, wine tour and costs. She was very pleasant and accommodated our needs. I was especially impressed when I called, at 10:00 at night, the evening before the event to change the time of departure from morning to afternoon due to the conference schedule; the representative was very understanding and accommodating.The wine tour exceeded our expectations. The driver was very pleasant - he added an additional 2 stops to accommodate the request of our groups by stopping at another winery to obtain a few bottles of wine (we tasted the wine in Petoskey the prior year) and to see a lighthouse (as requested by GA guests).I would highly recommend their services. Everyone was very pleasant and all of our guests had a fabulous time.To top it off, I forgot my phone charger in the tour bus and By the Bay Transportation was kind enough to mail it back to me.Thank you for a memorable trip!

My husband and I used By the Bay for the Old Missions Wine Tour. We had a wonderful experience booking with Debbie. She was extremely helpful by emailing me details of which wineries we would be visiting and their cost for tastings. Our driver, Mike, was fun, knowledgeable about the area/wineries, and overall contributed to our great experience. He was punctual picking us up from the hotel. I would use By the Bay again and highly recommend them to others.

Our wine tour was amazing this year, By the Bay Shuttle is the best way to go- they took the timeand scheduled us private tastings at the wineries. Our driver Bill was very polite & helpful, even carriedall the cases in and out of the limo for us. A special thanks to Debbie with all of her hard work and planning, its not easy pleasing 12 ladies- and she did, with no complaints!!! Looking forward to next year. Cheers !!

We used By the Bay shuttle to take guests to and from our daughters wedding reception. The driver was excellent. He was personable, caring, and patient. He did a great job making sure all of the guests got back to their hotels at the end of the evening. One of the guests left her purse and cell phone on the shuttle. The driver discovered it when he returned to his company garage. He saw that it was secured in the office. By the Bay then shipped the items by Fed Ex to the guest and paid for the shipping expenses. I would highly recommend By the Bay Shuttle.

My husband and I hired By the Bay to shuttle guests around at our wedding, and the whole process was seamless. From signing the contract to making last-minute changes, the staff at BtB was absolutely awesome. Ive got to give a shout out to Debbie and Jim for being so great! The shuttle was clean and new and we all felt safe and knew we were in good hands.The next day, a group of us went on a public wine tour, and I cannot express how much fun that was! Our driver Bill was HYSTERICAL and kept us laughing the whole time, and he was so patient as we took our time at each winery. If you have any doubts about doing this, dont. Its well worth it! We will definitely be using By the Bay in our future trips up to Traverse City:)

This past summer, my wife and I contracted with By The Bay to take us and 8 friends on a private winery tour on the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas near Traverse City. It was wonderful. The driver was knowledgeable and took us to the neatest places. By The Bay arranged a private tour for our group of one of the premier wineries in the region. The service was efficient, affordable, and friendly. We will use By The Bay again and again for our shuttle needs.

A group of 16 women just celebrated a bachelorette party this past weekend and it was fantastic. It couldnt have went any better. Making arrangements and setting up our scavenger hunt went extremely well. Working with Debbie made it very easy to get things taken care of. We were picked up at our house and visited several of the wineries. Our driver Bill was wonderful. He was very accomodating and such a great addition to our day. Dishonest and rude staff. We contacted Blue Lakes By the Bay for a quote on travel to the Grand Rapids airport. The staffer that replied gave us one number then when we tried to book it a couple days later the price had multiplied 10 times over. The staffer insisted the price had never changed even though I was viewing both her emails with the completely different prices. She also never apologized for her screw up. If management/dispatch is this dishonestrude, I wouldnt trust anyone at the company.

I have never experienced customer service quite like what I have received from Debbie! She made me feel like a member of her family while she went out of her way to accommodate my wine tour!

I have used By the Bay a number of times, including for my wedding transportation. It is very rare to find a business that is as customer oriented and as easy to work with as BTB. Debbie is fantastic and she will work to make sure everything you need is ready for you! Every driver I have encountered is personable and professional! This summer we went on the public Leelanau Peninsula wine tour with By The Bay. Originally we had booked with a different company but they overbooked and dumped us, so we had to find someone to take us while we were in Traverse City. We had the best time! The four hour tour actually went for almost 5 hours. We went to 6 wineries and the group they put us with was so much fun. Our driver was funny and so knowledgeable. Because we had so much fun we have already booked one of their scavenger hunts for my sisters bachelorette party with all of her bridesmaids and cant believe how easy it is or how helpful they have been to make this perfect. I would recommend them to anyone and actually already have.

I cant even begin to say how AWFUL my experiences have been with this company. It started back in 2013.My parents kindly reserved transportation through By the Bay for after my wedding. The request was for my husband and myself to be picked up at our wedding site in Northport and driven to Traverse City for our hotel stay. The driver was supposed to pick us up at about 10:30-11:00pm. The car/driver never showed. We called and called and no one at the company would answer. A guest from the wedding ended up driving us to our hotel at about midnight.The next day (after calling multiple times to no answer/response) we finally got a hold of someone at the company. The gave us a bit of a run around (blaming the situation on us), but after some time speaking they refunded our payment and kindly gave us a gift certificate for a wine tour (Leelanau or Old Mission) for two because of our frustration.The next summer, I had some friends come to visit and I decided to cash in the gift certificate. I was well aware that we had three people and I said I would happily pay for the additional guest (over the price of our gift certificate). At this point, the company said they raised their price for the transportation/wine tour for two, so I would have to pay additional. Unfortunately for the company, my gift certificate did not have a dollar amount on it, so after some fight (and rude comments from staff members and more than one phone call) they just charged me for one additional person.When it came closer to the wine tour date, the company over charged my credit card. My husband and I had to call 5 times to get a reimbursement, each time speaking to rude staff members. When we received the reimbursement, they reimbursed me for $2 not the amount that they should have (which was $20). After another half a dozen calls (over about four days) and HORRIBLE customer service they finally reimbursed me for the over charging.Day off the wine tour, the driver showed up and he was fantastic. My friends and I were so excited to go on our planned tour of OLD MISSION PENINSULA wineries. As we started our tour and turned on the first road, I could immediately tell that the driver was taking us to LEELANAU PENINSULA. Once again, another mistake by the company.I can happily say that Michael our driver was great, and I would never say anything poor about him. The company however is awful and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone.

My Husband and I worked with Debbie from By the Bay for our Wedding. We had 120 guests to transport from our hotel to our wedding venue and everything went off without a hitch! We were late in the game to finalizing our transportation and when it looked like there were no busses available for our wedding date Debbie went above and beyond to find shuttles for our special day securing one of their own busses and even renting another one from another company. It was such an amazing day and we were so thankful to have them transporting our precious cargo to and from. Thank you so much to debbie and to our drivers for helping the day to go smoothly! I would recommend them to anyone! Make sure you book early though...wedding season in Traverse City is busy and the shuttles get snatched up fast!

We used BTB for my friends bachelorette party. They took us on a fantastic wine tour and even setup a Something Blue scavenger hunt for her with some fun gifts at all of the vineyards. Great time. Great Driver. They even take photos of your group throughout the whole thing so you can just enjoy the tour. The only issue we came across was that there was a mixed up with the number of people on our reservation - but it was no big deal. They handled it with no problem! Debbie is wonderful, Bill was enjoyable - I highly recommend By the Bay Transportation and I will defintiely be using them again in the future. :) ~Very Happy Maid of Honor

I used By the Bay twice this pass weekend.Bill took my Mom and I on a tour of the Old Mission Winerys last Friday and Jim drove us up Leelanau Peninsula on Sunday. Both were very friendly & knowledgeable. We had a great time on both trips!Sadly, I did leave in the car a box of wine and goodies from Sunday. My mom & I truly enjoyed our stop to Chateau Fontaine - it was our FAVORITE! When I realized the box was left behind, I called By the Bay & they were VERY willing to help... They are sending me my food items and are going to ask Chateau Fontaine to send over the wine.I would DEFINITELY recommend them for any transportation needs!

This past weekend was my sisters bachelorette party and we went on a wine tour in the Leelanau area. I started planning the trip back in December of 2013, so 8 months prior, and had booked a 14 passenger shuttle bus in anticipation of having 13 girls on the trip. A few days prior to leaving for the trip, the company called and asked for a final head count. My final head count was 10 girls. So By the Bay goes on to say that they want to put me in a 10 person van and we can just extend the wine tour by an hour or they can refund me some money. I politely declined, saying no, I still want the shuttle bus, and that should have been the end of it. But no, on the day of the wine tour, what pulls into the parking lot at our townhouse to my utter shock, the 10 passenger van. I was livid. I had specifically told them 72 hours earlier this was not acceptable, and that I still wanted the shuttle bus. I immediately called By the Bay and was told to start our wine tour and that a shuttle bus would meet us at the first vineyard. This is after having been told excuses such as I dont know how this happened to your bus is getting repairs in the shop. This was my sisters special day and to have that situation happen, in my opinion, is unacceptable. If I ever go on another wine tour, I will be trying a different company.
