My favorite park close to the house! Very woodsy and pretty well trafficked. Its like a mini Elinor Klapp-Phipps except with a dog park and a pond! Youll see a surprising amount of wildlife considering the size. I go at LEAST once a month. Its especially good for trail runners.

My 60lb pitbull mix loves this dog park! I think of this dog park as the original Tally dog park. Weve been coming here for years. Very nice people, mostly undergrads/grad students it seems. The other dogs are great. Theyve recently renovated the bridge leading to the park, and added some benches in the park. I still think of Shadow the sweetheart Golden Retriever, Dory the sweet old lady Aussie Shephard, Drako the bottle-fed Pitbull/Hound pupper, August the crazy lab mix, and all the other dogs weve had the honor of meeting here. So many silly Pitbull babies here!

This is a really nice and peaceful park. There are 2 small bridges, one partially over the lake. There is a small fountain in the middle of the lake. This is a great place to lay a blanket down and read a book or have a picnic if you want. There is a nice dog park in the back. This location is full of different trails if you want to explore and get some exercise. Not to mention, plenty if shaded areas.

My friend had her sons birthday party here. It was 96° outside and it was the perfect park for this heat. The big trees provided great shade and the pavilion area was very well kept. I walked around to take in the sights and I loved it out here. Very nice park to relax in, hike, or have a party. I plan to go back and bike/hike the nature trails.

Love this park. The lake floods and recedes very drastically, which is pretty to see. But, that usually exposes tons of trash. I wish people would not leave trash/animal droppings but the park itself is great and convenient to downtown. Plenty of trails with maps, a nice pedestrian bridge over the lake, great parking, etc.

Beautiful forest park in Tallahassee. The trails are very nice and peaceful to help you get rid of the hustle and bustle of the city. The dog park and views of the lake are beautiful. Fall is the perfect time to go too due to the changing leaves on a lot of the trees in the park!

A little outdoorsy gem in Tallahassee! San Luis is a little forested park hidden away between the bustling Tharpe and Tennessee streets. There is a small lake, a dinky playground, a few pavilions, a popular dog park, and a few miles worth of dirt trails. The trails and dog park are really what make the park worth coming to.The trails feature some nice hills, wooden workout aids, and winding trails under a canopy of trees. Ive been here at all times of the day, and Ive only ever seen 1-3 people on the trails with me. The workout areas are next to useless, but the pull-up bars are usable. Most people walk their dogs around, but the trails are also frequented by runners, walkers, and every now and then a few bikers. The forest houses a ton of squirrels and tiny birds, like the rest of Tallahassee. The more diverse wildlife live in the lake, which is home to a bunch of turtles, some fish, and visiting large birds. The lake also has a short boardwalk area, which is pretty nice.

Ive been to the park in the back a few times and the front a few times too. The whole park at large, both the mission section which I think requires an admission fee if I remember correctly is nice as well as the public section. There is a dog park here too. Unfortunately, there is a missed connection/relationship that eventually needs to get fixed.

Nice quiet park, with lots of shade from the large oaks. I specifically went for the (off-leash) dog park. The dog park is tucked away in the back. If you drive straight in, go just past the restrooms and there are parking spots. There is a small dirt path to a small bridge, walk through there and the park is on the right. It is one large fenced space, that is mainly dirt, but it was fine for my dog to play and socialize. There are benches if you want to sit, and TONS of shade. Wide variety of dogs there, mainly larger dogs, 40lbs+ but everyone seemed to get along well. We will definitely come here again, and much closer to home than Tom Brown.

My park of choice as it’s very secluded with plenty of shade. Nice pond with turtles to feed from the wooden walkway. Safe trails to walk.Patrons are uncouth slobs however. Dog poo all over, unleashed animals, and only one enclosure. A large dog and a small dog section would be nice. The inside is nothing but a huge pit of dirt and mud. Some attended grass would be nice.

The dog park is large and fenced in. My puppy loves running around with the other dogs there and he was tired when we left. In order to get to the dog park you have to cross a small bridge which would be nice to have some sort of signs for. Also, there is not very much grass in the fenced in area, which makes for a dirty puppy. Overall, our experience was good and we will come back again.
