Such a lovely little beach. Locals are kind and inviting. This is a beach for relaxing and people are mindful of neighboring beach-goers. That being said, dont bring loud music and or large beach games. Like I said, this is a small, quiet beach and especially, anyone visiting from outside the area should be respectful of the locals who live here. That is obviously my opinion, but if you dont want to draw any nasty stares then I would heed my advice. Overall really enjoyed this beach and the water contains a high concentration of salt so you will get a nice exfoliating treatment while you swim. The next day your skin will feel nice and smooth! Highly recommend this beach

Nice little beach. Travelled from Tennessee to city but everything was closed down from covid 19 so decided to cool down at closest beach. Lots of little crabs for kids to capture. Only thing I didnt like was loud, foul-mouthed teenagers behind us and we got a ticket. Maybe we just didnt know where to park

Ok beach however people do not comprehend the idea of social distancing at all (6 ft away with 3 ft walking path). They plop 3 ft away from you and pretend all is peachy... No one is enforcing any rules. Cost 42 USD for non residents.

West beach is a great place to go for you to have some fun during the summer. I love going there to write and enjoy the sun. They have have a lot of field. You can play any sports..Ice shop down the street. Great for picnic. The metro north is near by. If you are from the city and need some quiet are check it out

On the +, there is an outdoor shower. But neither the view, sand or quality of water is good.It is nicer in the morning than evenings since the sun faces the beach

West Beach is a pretty beach in Stamford. Its a great place to spend time with the family and it gets busy during the summer, so try to go early to get a nice spot by the water. For residents you can get the seasonal summer pass for $25.00 or its $25 for parking there for the day. So do recommend getting the pass.Its very pretty there during the evenings with the colorful sky in the summer

This is an amazing beach. If it’s a weekday and it’s not crowded, you can park in designated neighborhood by Iroquois and there is a ramp by the rocks. But be careful, they do ticket if it’s not valid parking.

This review ew is specifically for the soccer field portion of West Beach. The field is pure AstroTurf (fake grass), which many consider bad. However, the grass never will be ruined, has permanent lines, and also has rubber pellets which make the surface more soft and bouncy. There are 2 full size soccer fields, and each large field can be split into two smaller pitches. Any other good thing about this space is that it is near the beach, which almost always grants you a cool breeze on a hot day!The problems with this area are that you need a pass to park in the two lots, and that the rubber pellets stick to your skin when you are wet. These rubber pellets are small and it should be noted that they are known to increase the risk of cancer in an individual if ingested.Overall, I give this place a 4. It is an amazing soccer pitch with tons of space to play!

Beach time in the winter can be fun too. Its nice to explore and see venues during all seasons. Obviously in Dec this place was quiet.

Not really a beach. Its the bay. Sand space is very narrow - 30 - 40 ft from parking lot to water. Very crowded as well. If youre a real beach person dont go here. If you need sand and the water and have a large group then the fee of $69 non resident per car is for you.

Love my little beach. The water is clean and you can tell from the fresh clams the seagulls dig out to eat. Also the city keeps it well maintained with a nice beach house that is open in the summer and a clean pier.

Our family genuinely enjoys trips to West Beach. Convenient parking, good sand, easy walk to well maintained bathrooms, outdoor showers and foot rinse, playground for kids located on the beach. At high tide you can easily swim and at low tide you can walk out pretty far to explore in the shallow water.

Nice place to relax

This is a small, family oriented, beach tucked away in Stamford that is quaint and quiet. I find that the crowds arent overwhelmingly large like other area beaches, especially in NY, and the area is clean quiet and has a serene, peaceful feel to it. The parking lot is not tremendously large, so on warm summer days I think it would be best to arrive as early as possible to assure you get a spot. The parking fee is pretty hefty for out-of-state visitors at $25. I do believe it is less expensive for CT residents. Despite the heft of the parking fee, I would recommend this small beach for a relaxing day in the water or to just tan and unwind. Grills are not welcome, but theres a wonderful deli called All Italian American Gourmet Deli on Shippan Ave, which is just a short walk away. Alcohol/beer is also not welcome in glass containers, so come prepared.

I have been coming to this beach every summer for 3+ years. NOT ANYMORE!!!! a $40 weekday and $69 weekend parking fee???? YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!! such a shame

The seasonal pass for residents is absolutely a must to enjoy this beach properly. Its the sound so ocean lovers will hate it. But its our and local and that makes it great.

It was a very nice beach the water was relaxing the beach could be cleaned up. For the $25 fee that you pay to park they might as will use that to clean the sand and shore. There was a lot of rocks, shells and other debris mixed in with the sand. It could have been sifted out to make it enjoyable to sit and walk on. The shore line had debris there was wood planks in the water. Would be much better if cleaned.

Very nice beach. Smallish, next to boat dock so constantly saw boats and ski jets coming and going. There is also a fishing dock, bathrooms, ice cream and food truck. We got there early (hottest Sunday of the summer) so it was nice and empty. The crowd starts coming after 12 it seems.You must pay to park but our navigation accidentally took us to the adjacent neighborhood where we parked for free and followed the path straight to the beach.

Beach was very small and nothing special, water was murky. Plus you had to pay $25 for parking and it was after 5pm when we arrived. Bathrooms were clean and they did have showers outside if you needed to rinse yourself after the ocean. I dont think we will be coming back.

Its a very nice beach. Theres an ice cream truck that comes by periodically and they have shower heads outside to rinse yourself off. They also have restrooms. The view is nice and the sand is relatively free of debris. Parking is kind of expensive at $25 per car, which may explain the lack of riff raff.

My favorite beach is Stamford! Very close parking (if you have beach sticker) and is playground right on the sand. Its a win/win for kids and adults!

Love this beach. Its small and quaint compared to the other beaches in the area. The playground and bathroom are close and within sight view so its easy to keep an eye on small children...the only downside is that there is limited parking and you may have to park away and walk the beach with your supplies and gear

Loved the beach. But went with local stamford friends and did not have to pay parking as they have their yearly 25$ sticker. But if you are a visitor its a 25$ parking for a day. The beach area is good with all people hanging out and having a nice time. Many people bbq, grill, make hookah at the beach and also play music. Nixe vibe. Water is not that clean though. But water temperature is really warm during the summer.

Love it nice view of the beach and big houses on the beach, as well as theres a kids park there for the kid to play and enjoy them selves. Not loud at all peaceful and the thing i love the most is the parking was free im from Miami and i have found out theres not a lot of free parking in connecticut so i enjoyed the view and taking pictures

The parking attendant was very rude and unhelpful. We are from out of town and confused and uncertain where to go. We handed him the cash to park. Within seconds we got a call to go where our son was. We asked him that we decided not to enter. He didn’t even have our parking ticket filled out yet and was adamant that we had to go there because we gave him the $25. It was so unprofessional, rude, obnoxious and made our visit uneventful and not wanting to visit again.

Good little beach! Not crowded on the Sunday I visited. Clean and manicured sand! The tide was down in my pictures, so the seaweed and rocks are usualy not visible. Little hermit crabs crawling around are fun as well! :) no food stands! Surprised by that! Great entrepreneurial opportunity for someone! Could use some more parking as well!

This place was just okay. I went to go visit a cousin who lives very close by so we came here just to get some sun. Beach was very noise. Sand was terrible, not much space from the parking lot to the water. Parking lot capacity is an issue if you dont come early. Very limited food, snacks, and beverages.
