Nice park to have an evening stroll. There is a small river/ stream of water with lot of ducks so good to pass some time sitting by stream watching ducks play around. In fall, park offers nice hues of trees in yellow and red color..

Beautiful blend of indigenous nature and curated spaces right in the heart of downtown! My kiddos adore all the climbing rocks and the ability to splash in the river to their hearts content. One of our favorite urban getaways! Im delighted that Stamford created this gorgeous park in the midst of our city

Mill River Park org hosts so many events and are truly awesome. They lighted Christmas tree and it was for 1st time this event was hosted. Also this time of year the ice skating ring is opened and today they hosted skating performance. It was delight. Entire park area around the ring is beautifully lighted and decorated. Ice Skating will be open throughout winter. They supply skating shoes on rent. It is not so crowded yet and no waiting. Recommended to try ice skating here.

Mill River Park is a great place to go to for walks or to just sit around the pretty plants or by the river. There are free fitness classes and there is a water fountain there in the summer. Recommend attending the free fitness courses offered in the summer. The flowers are so pretty there. During the winter the water fountain turns into a cute skating rink. Check out the calendar on the mill river website for events and classes that they offer.

Small with a lack of a longer running path. A great place to bring a coffee, have a chat with a friend and listen to the sounds of the river. The overall utility of the park is limited due to its size and layout. As the park extends further east it becomes less manicured.

On a day of epic hot weather, we had been sitting in stop and go traffic on our way deeper into CT for longer than the entire trip normally takes, when we got off of 95N to try and find a bite to eat. I glanced out the window when passing near the campus of UConn Stamford, and saw park space. As we passed closer nearby, I spied an oasis in the distance - an arc of water reaching high into the sky, and tiny people running in between the towering jets! We had our 5yr olds swim suit and plenty of towels in the car, so we pulled over and found street parking. We live in NYC and are huge fans of splash pads: park and playground spaces where the city has installed water features of various kinds to keep cool in the summer heat. Excited to find more of them outside the NYC as well!Once out of the car she instantly needed a bathroom, and low and behold, adjacent to the simply giant splash pad were bathrooms: men, women, and one family. The bathroom was hot and stale enough inside to toast bread, but it was reasonably clean for a park bathroom and everything was there: hand soap, toilet paper, flushing worked, running water, clean enough floor to sit a waterproof bag of swimsuits and towels. After the potty and outfit change, our 5yr old charged out into the towering jets of water and had a ridiculous amount of fun!! A wonderful mix of ethnicities and ages of kids and happy people greeted us. There were stone and wood benches along one side to sit, and Adirondack chairs also sprinkled around as well nearby grassy fields where one might picnic. The middle of the splash pad accommodated a number of parents like us who wanted to cool off without absolutely getting soaked. And the water there was about 4inches deep to cool off tired feet and exhausted kids who occasionally knelt, sat, or laid down in that middle section. I managed to get splashed just enough to feel cooled down. And we were so happy that, although the sun was beginning to slip low, we could still stay and let our daughter play more even though it was 7pm.Overall we are so pleased with our discovery and will make use of this as a stop on our way East during the summer days when somehow we are an hour from home and still an hour to our destination during a trip that should only take a little over an hour total! My husband mentioned that the only thing missing were food trucks and ice cream to make the place perfect and maybe those are things that come later in July? We were there June 28th I think. Bring towels and snacks and leave happy with exhausted kids!

Decent place to spend a quick break. There is a small creek, an unoriginal fountain, picnic tables, ping pong tables without paddles or balls so that’s a bit useless, a dog obstacle area (or maybe that’s for kids, I don’t know). Trees, birds, flowers, grass area to toss a frisbee or what have you. Not much here to spend an extended amount of time, but nice to sit for a few minutes or walk through. Unfortunately, it’s the only thing resembling a park downtown.

This is a great place for walking or even spending the whole day. Really a great park. The big problem is that there is no public restroom. The only restroom is at the carroussel which has limited hours. So if you get there early morning or want to stay late at the day you better have no need to go to the bathroom. There is none on those times of the day.

Beautifully restored, a really nice walk where you always come across some sort of wildlife. Its Stamfords mini version of Central Park for NYC an oasis of green amid all the buildings. Right now the Cherry trees are blooming and the walk is littered with pink petals. The stream cutting through the park carries ducks and geese most of the year. Last fall they completed the fountain which doubles as a skating rink in the winter months, and there is a small fenced in dog run that is populated by local residents who actually watch their dogs and not their phones :D All in all its a short walk, but a pleasant breath of fresh air!

Very bad communication to the Stamford community. Why is there firewood available and you cant use the fire pits? Why is there a splash zone and people are being kicked out because its a fountain? The collaborative should re-do their PR plan so that it reflects the amenities the park actually has.

Many years ago this park was, for lack of better words, a dump. No one wanted to go here, but after the renovation it is such a gem. This park is trying to bring people back and is succeeding. They have an ice skating rink in the winter, a carousel for kids to ride ($2 last I check), a dog park, events happening daily, free excersise events in the summer and movies as well. This place is no longer just any old park, but a place where people go to make memories.

A small but well-maintained park, however some of the events held here cause really bad noise pollution. The free film screenings on Friday nights are a great idea, but I seriously don’t think the people sitting right in front of the screen need the volume booming throughout the neighbourhood. Right now there’s some kind of stage and Latin event happening with the same issue.... there doesn’t seem to be any regard for local residents being disturbed. Surely this is a simple thing to address with noise limits?

Last night my friends and I prepared a BBQ on one of the grills by the dog park, only to have someone come over and tell us we had to put the fire out. The grills are advertised on their website, theres fire wood openly available, but apparently youre not allowed to grill there?? I am very confused and disappointed. At the moment she told us to stop, the fire was finally ready to use so I asked if we could just grill our food (cause I was hungry!!) and be on our way and she said no. We had grilled out here before so Im not sure what the problem was. Very upsetting. There should definitely be signs put up about this and you might want to hide the fire wood so you dont keep giving people ideas.

I am still confused about the beer garden and holiday market that was advertised to be here. Yes, Half Full brewing did have a beer garden on site but there was 1 vendor in their tent and 1 vendor in the other tent? We drove down looking for a holiday market and instead found 1 person selling socks. The only good thing about the event was the vendor called The Two Oh Three. They had some great quality stuff. You cant call yourself a holiday market with only 2 vendors.

This whole part of town has gone through a dramatic transformation over the years. This park is now the centerpiece of this urban transition. Great for families, with a beautiful new carousel, lots of grass to frolic and picnic on, great pathways for kid cycling or skating and an adjacent playground area a stones throw from the main hub of the park. Well conceived place of respite in the heart of Stamford downtown.
