How have I lived here 6 years and missed this treasure! My beautiful fiance was born and raised here, she didnt even know it was here. THIS is a must see city park. Yes, there are a few bugs. Yes, if you walk the creek youll get muddy feet. BUT what an amazing, delightful, and beautiful park. There are trails everywhere, adventure and enjoy. If a trail into the canyon is to steep, walk down the main trail a little more and youll likely find an easier way. Thank you to all of you that carry out what you bring in. Thank you also to all you respectful dog owners who leash and pick up after your furry friend. The majority of the park was clean, neat and natural. Oh oh, except for the moose droppings, the moose obviously have not been picking up after themselves (but Ive come to expect that of moose).

I am born and raised here in Spokane. 1st of all Ive never heard of this secret oasis! 2ed of all this is the most beautiful place Ive ever seen right here in Spokane! Truly worth it. It is very steep path so dont try in candles.

Beautiful and quiet! The walk down to the waterfall wasnt very far, about .5 mi. But there are also other small trails throughout the entire park. They are worth checking out. Plus a creek runs through it all.

Such a beautiful place!! So many hikes to go to different places and scenes. The hike to the falls were alittle on the muddy side but had rocks to hop across on. The kids had a blast and the falls were so pretty and alot of fun for our family. Kids hiked really good ages 6 and 5 and wanted to keep going. Highly recommend for everyone.

This hike was very fun, if a bit more people than I would have wanted. We went on a Sunday and the area was very busy. Be prepared to have to wait for people to finish their selfies. I would also strongly suggest using some bug repellent. Due to the water there are a lot of mosquitoes. There are several steep areas both on the way down and back up. If you arent wanting a strenuous hike you could always explore up above. There was a lot of pretty scenery without having to go down. Over all I would say this hike is very worthwhile.

I hiked Indian Canyon Falls on 3/10/18. It was beautiful and totally worth it. This place is a hidden gem less than 10 minutes from downtown Spokane. This makes a great winter/spring hike. In the winter the waterfall freezes over and in the spring the stream flow is high. In the summer the waterfall is just a trickle.Make sure you wear shoes/boots with great traction in the spring, as there was still ice on many of the trails. Also, be careful not to walk through soft areas, especially on slopes, as this can destroy the trails. You have to cross the stream a few times, but there are plenty of rocks/logs to keep you dry.Make sure to drive or hike up to the top of Palisades Park to take in the almost 360 degree views of downtown.

Fun easy trails. Getting down to the waterfall was steep, but doable. My 3 year old twins handled it really well. I definitely had to help them a little, but overall they did it and had a blast! Id say altogether it was a half mile give or take to get to the waterfall. This was taken at the end of summer, but Ive heard the waterfall is spectacular in the spring!

For one, this is a beautiful place to hike. At this time there are lots of bloodsucking soulless sqitters, but other than that its quite worth it with plenty of bug spray for which me and my wife didnt have. Take trail 121. It is a loop that will take you to the fall next to a small cave. I will say for the trail kinda got hard to find here and there, JUST FOLLOW THE WATER. in 3 areas we had to cross the stream with minimal difficulty. People have placed rocks and lots if fallen tree pieces to give you a slight walk way. Totally worth the effort!

Beautiful little area minutes from downtown. Bring bug repellent if youre frequently bit, the mosquitoes are often thick. The falls dry up to a trickle quickly in the summer months. Good chances of muddy feet and bring your balancing act as there are areas youll need to cross the stream on small logs and rocks.

Beautiful, the walk to get there was fun too. The trails have a couple of thin passways which make it scary for a big person so just be careful. At the end of trail right next to the waterfall, there is a couple (man and woman) with a dog on a short leash who wants to attack anything that comes close to their campsite so we as tourists couldnt get close to the waterfall. Thats why I gave it 3 stars. Tweekers are camping at many of the Washington historic sites and trashing the area so remember to always be on the lookout for them and needles, sad to say but that is the reality for now.

Beautiful hike and waterfall minutes from Spokane. There are a couple ways to get to it. Either you can park about half way up Greenwood by the two closed gates on the left side of the road (not in front of the gates that is a fire lane, just park on the side of the road) and hike up to the the waterfall or you can drive up next to Indian Canyon golf course and there will be a little parking lot on the left that is a less than. 5 mile hike down to the waterfall. It really is make your own adventure to get down to the water fall which is best done from the west side. There are some very steep trails and some easier trails down, you are hiking into a deep canyon but it is very worth it.

Its relative. If you want a quick hike 10 minutes from downtown punctuated by a nice waterfall, this is it. The falls can be seen from a distance or you can hike down a steep embankment to get a closer look. The trails are obvious but study the trailhead maps. Always take water even on a modest hike like this one in case you get lost in conversation - guilty - and lost in the woods. Good for dogs & children with some control over both.
