Be careful been swiming here since I was a kid now in bringing my kids here but with life jackets and tons of rules be very careful
Really nice river! You can get great pictures in this area. It is also a duck stop (you can see a lot of ducks) just amazing views, and nature!
I LOVE Boulder Beach not so much for the busy hot summer days though Ive certainly enjoyed my fair share, but for the tranquil mornings walking my dog here. Its a great place to energize your soul before a hectic day!
Fun chill laid back no drama. Great place for families to take their kids and good for dogs. Its safe and drug free!
Very enjoyable. Beach area rock diving theres a tree you can climb and jump from I did it was great. I have been around here 15 years but this was the first time i stopped to swim. Dont wait as long as i did.
Nice hike after a snow storm. Very calm and relaxing
Local beach. Grew up going here. Always busy during daytime hours and sometimes into the evening/night. Fun, slack water makes it a usually safe place to swim. All walks of life visit this beach.
Go before 2-3pm if you dont like crowded places, and if you have little kids... Lots of college kids cussing on my last visit.Other than that, its close in town & makes for a nice little swim area. Lots of shade.
Great location to cool off in Spokane. Maybe try the rope swing if youre up to it. Nice place to Kayak
Not bad but it would be better if the grounds were better taken care of.. but all in all still a good place to swim if you need a fast cool down..
Its beautiful to look at, serene and relaxing to chill on a floaty or paddleboard, you can swim and its not too crowded.
It was small part of the short trail but beautiful place for sunset
Overall good river spot for the Spokane river that is. Its been slowly improving over the last few years It seems like Spokane realized how important this river is and how lucky we are to have it as long as we continue with the clean up and take care of it well have it to enjoy for long time to come. Theres a small beach area here some rocks to jump off and a rope swing FYI if you are not a strong swimmer stay to the beach area this river is miss leading and if you dont respect her she will take your life! Sadly she has taken the lifes of many people Young and old. With enough patience and skill and a little luck you can get some nice fish.
Pretty popular area when I visited today but a nice place to walk and take my dog to the water. I like the fact that it is free parking and pretty accessible
Great for swimming, got to see a plane take off from water. It was very fun, especially with baby ducklings swimming about.
Its less than 5 minutes from home and its an amazing place to go to cool off on a hot day. Its right on the Centennial Trail and there is plenty of space for everybody, even when its packed and busy.
I have been going to this area since I was a child and I cannot generally drive by without stopping somewhere along the way. It always gives me and warm feeling oath family that has come and gone have a picnic area where we used to hang out.Family friends and new generations Now find this area also a peaceful place. However now it does get crowded early with beach goers as well as cyclists, hikers, and rock climbing.May I remind you to please if youre carrying in trash and goodies carry it back out and preserve the things many of us love. Thank you.P.s. Including dog messes and cigarette disgards.
Great place to hang out. Rope swing for the adventurest. Cement trail through area.Shallow water at the beach for kids. No supervision provided.
We found good company on the beach and had a great time. The only thing that worried me was the current. I have some beginning swimmers and I get scared.
Nice little swim spot on the river. Not much for parking, but great access if you bike or stop there on a run. Or do what everyone else does and park on the side of the road.
Great swimming and beach area. Family friendly...
Love dipping in to the river with my kids. They feel safe due to the lazy current at this particular beach. And if you like jumping off of Bolders, there are several jumps.
My favorite spot, well one of the top five, in SpokaneQuite during the offseason, and incredibly energetic during the summer months. There are multiple locations to get kyacks or paddle boards in the water.Sandy/dirt areas for picnics, sunbathing, or just hanging out.The water is always a bit cold for my preference to go swimming, but a lot of people really enjoy it.Lock your car and be mindful of pedestrians and children crossing the road during the summer months. Not a dirty area, but a reminder to please take any garbage or personal items with you when you leave. Not everyone does, so I like to bring a few pairs of gloves and an extra garbage bag along.
Loved bringing my son to my old swimming place
Loved it in the 90s. Got my kids sick in the 2000s. Then 2020 its a ran through homeless dump. Very sad.
Perfect getaway close to town. Get there early for a spot for your towels
Nice place to get away and wet your feet
My kids and dog loved it there played in the water and peaceful might go again tomorrow.
One of my favorite places in Spokane along the river. Nice and clean. Perfect for my hammock.
Its a beautiful public beach on the Spokane River. One of the only public beaches that is a great place to go swimming on the river... The one downside is that it gets quite busy with myriads of people inundating the beach. You would be hard pressed to find a spot that affords you any form of privacy.
This is THE swim hole in spokane. It always has been. We used to throw keggerz down there all the time, even in winter time. When we used c.b.radios and a some code words in our chatter. That was better than cell phones even today . Cops would come blazing in and just maKd us all go home after the usual production they would religiously perform tp maximize the effect and fear raising
Parking can be a little tough when its packed but its not impossible. Theres lots of places to get away from large crowds.
Its a great place for birthdays and get togethers of course the water is cool
This is one of my favorite places in Spokane! A great place to swim and hike!
I love this place. Took family there was a blast.
Cause I got Cool . Ahaaaa
Not too bad! Some shaded areas and little beach like... the water was a little dirty with a bunch of different things like little feathers, weeds and leaves. But nice place to swim in the city! All family members can swim, 2 ice cream trucks even stopped!
Great place to swim when its not crowded. Make sure to lock your car there is occasional theft.
One of my favorite places by myself and with family ️
Beautiful beach area by the river.
My only complaint is that the word beach suggests sand. Maybe I was in the wrong spot, but no sand.
Im 35 yrs. Old I still go off the rope swing its a blast. As you can see my kid and friends love it too.
A great place to go out walking before hitting the tough part (Upriver Drive between Boulder Beach and Farr Road) and the easy part (Upriver Drive between Boulder Beach and south of Buckeye).
Fantastic spot across from tiny airport on the Spokane River.
Love the atmosphere here peaceful
Great place for kayak
Its a really nice place to swim
Great place to walk safely near the water.
Much fun and great place to launch a small raft
Beautiful place to relax and take in a quick getaway to instant hiking trails and disc golf.
Peaceful place to stare at a full moon
We had this beach practically to ourselves early in the morning this week after a walk through the camp/park area just north (which burned the next day!). The water and view were beautiful. It was already warm and pleasant at 11 am. Also enjoyed visits from ducks and ducklings (but please don’t feed them). If it weren’t for he smokers who feel it’s ok to throw their nasty cigarette ends on the ground, it would’ve been flawless.
Theres limited parking and the water is cold and murky but theres lots of ways to enjoy playing in and on the water on a hot August day.
Good place to take dogs, pretty view and DUKS
I have brought my son, family and friends here for the last few summers and we really enjoy the area. Some days are more packed than others, the water is easy to tell where the shallow area ends so even the littles can have fun without too much worry. Great place to play, float, swim, jump off rocks, jump off the rope swing, and to bury each other in the sand! This review is missing one star only because the sand isnt as sandy as Id personally like and the water seems to be pretty cold year round compared to other warmer spots (without the sand though!) Overall this is a great place for all ages to have fun!
Not many people swimming this time of year
Absolutely beautiful.
Fun area to hang out with family and friends. It is mostly clean and has a good sized beach on the Spokane River. My family and I enjoy paddle boarding off of the beach and floating around on the calm water.
One of my favorite places to spend a sunny afternoon
I take my senior dog on the trail that goes from the Boulder Beach parking lot to Upriver Dam all the time. Pretty packed in the summer but one of my favorite Spokane walks in the spring and fall.
Nice place to sit and collect ones thoughts
It was very clean and beautiful to walk the trails
The city needs to chop down a few trees so there is more sun inn the beach!
I love to sit and watch the river.
Someone drowned while I was here. First time
Easy to find, right off the road. Good amount of space on the beach, small parking lot
A quaint little swimming hole reminiscent of my younger years. There were several other people but not too crowded. There was a 17-20 year old crowd jumping from the rope swing but they were respectful. We had a great time and will be back.4 stars instead of 5 bc theres no flat area, its mostly sloped.
Dangerous place to swim, if you still decide to go wear a lifejacket.
Its peaceful and quiet this time of year (fall). The Dam was closed so the water was way high covering the beach but it was still nice!
I think its a great spot! Just wish there was sand. But really other than that its pretty nice
It was great paddleboarding for the 1st time this season!!!!
No sand unlike liberty lake park.
Area was dirty and had too many transients
Good place to go and have a swim
I had a really good time
Good place to go if you want to feed the ducks!!
The river is so full, there is not much beach. But it remains a pretty spot.
We had a blast today....I walked around and caught 4 crawdads BY HAND! The boys were so impressed... and I know my Dad is Proud!
Super fun beach by the river! During the weekends and holidays it is quite busy with locals, but if you visit during the workday youll enjoy a calm river for swimming, boating, or even fishing.
Nice place, awesome view)
Clean and easy access.
Local free beach, it gets crowded and sometimes dogs are off leash, dont bring your dog if they arent friendly with other dogs.
They really should have bathrooms.
Not alot of places to swim in Spokane, unless you go out of tiwn or swimming pools. The water that fills the river comes from lake Coeur DAlene and is cold up until mid September.
Great community beach
Fun place, pretty busy when it was hot, but has a rope swing and many places to hang out and just relax, and there is swimming access. Definitely wanna go again.
Kayaking or cooling off on a summer day, great section of Spokane river
Love this beach! Gets busy on hot days but the water is nice
Soil is hard but not a big deal. Theres a port a potty. Dont come here to swim unless its the middle of the day and a 95 degrees out
Parking is a bit difficult but a great place for swimming and kayaking
