Such a wonderful spot for this time of year; the fragrance of the blooms with each scent unique to the color, and bumblebees stumbling and bumbling about. Im glad we have a free city park with free parking to go and enjoy. The rest of the park is amazing too!

Beautiful place to spend a few hours looking at all the flowers. Name placards in front of most plants to help identify what type they are.

The lilac citys best display of its foliage in town, with the exception of my neighbors 30 lilac tree/bush. Can you call it a lilac tree? Park, if you must, at the Japanese garden or mirror pond, then walk a few hundred feet.

Of all the public gardens Ive visited, Manito is one of the most satisfying, with its balance of pond, rock, deciduous trees & towering evergreens, huddled shrubs & bushes, annuals, perinnials, formal gardens, play area, shelters, and a charming park cafe stand. Oh yes, and the lilacs modest & yet stunning, a perfect subject for the impressionist with an aroma of home. Winter maintains Manitos soul with a sledding hill and a frozen pond for skating right off the cover of The New Yorker. Manito Park -- a charismatic & charming place to take time to smell the lilacs of Spokane.
