It is amazing how beautiful it was at Duncan Gardens. The flowers weren’t all in full bloom yet, but that really didn’t make a huge difference. Such an amazing place. Unfortunately the conservatory was closed, so I wasn’t able to get any pictures from there. Definitely disappointing.

Beautiful variety of flowers. Many opportunities to sit in the shade. The caretakers have a passion for presentation. For those that dont know, it takes a great deal of time to trim, prune, cull out dying plants and replace, control pests, remove invasive weeds, hand water, ...The results of your passion is appreciated !!!Thank you, youve added beauty to my life.

Manito Parks Duncan garden is lovely in design but the hot pink, orange, red, and yellow of some floral landscaping is combined with deep purple, and sage colors elsewhere but within the same sightlines. I wish the colors of the flowers were more cohesive or seemed like they came from the same color palate. Some run through this garden, others walk, many take pictures, and some bring kids or dogs. Its nice when the fountain is turned on. The Duncan Gardens are a fun little gem in Spokane. There isnt too much parking right by this garden so parking elsewhere and walking to this spot helps.

A peaceful respite and serene park for the enjoyment of all. It is a large, well maintained park containing some formally arranged gardens with flowers, shrubs and fountains. The park is suitable for walking, or quiet reflection in their well manicured spaces. Enjoy your time outdoors.

Spokane might be far from major city hubs, but it has class in its own right. Like the classic South Hill mansions, Duncan Garden creates an atmosphere of sophistication. When my wife and I stroll down the paths, I can see a black top hat on me and a frilly parasol shading her in the reflection in the fountain pool.

One of our favorite places to come for a couple hours and walk through all the pristine gardens. My eye is always drawn to the color selected for each area. Its a gift of love that the caretakers give with keeping this garden so beautiful. If I have any suggestions, it would be to give some more attention to their Butterfly Garden. Each time we come, I have an expectation that this part of the garden would be more spectacular then it is. Its pretty bland and Ive yet to see a butterfly over the 30 years Ive lived in this area.

So Im here fairly often. I play Pokemon Go, Manito is easily the best place in Spokane for this, the Park is beautiful, spawns are plenty, and there are many gyms. Normally this place wouldve gotten five stars, but it was permeated by a funky smell. If youve ever had a compost pile that youve turn too early; before the greens broke down; youll definitely understand the smell.

Everything you could want is on the South Hill. Beautiful old homes, roads made of bricks, some even still have the street car tracks. Every type of architecture youre looking for with numerous Craftsman bungalows and mid-century homes. Intriguing to walk or drive, you can travel from park to park or visit high drive trails. You may encounter a herds of turkeys walking the streets or play chicken with a squirrel. Its a delightful section of Spokane

If you have any free time you will want to go to Manito Park on the South Hill off Grand Blvd. The park has beautiful grounds, Japanese Gardens, Duncan Gardens (beautiful rose and flower gardens) a large wonderful pond and great areas for walking, picnics, family gatherings, etc. In the winter there is a sledding hill or two. The homes around the park are old and beautiful as well - many are of the Arts and Crafts style and date back to the 1920s and 30s (many newer ones too). Give yourself several hours to wander through the park - walk, bike or drive.

We dont have a lot of gardens like this in the USA. I think this must have been designed by some landscaper from the courtyards of France or maybe England, because it sure dont look like I pictured the state of Washington to look! Kidding aside, the gardens are really stupendous. The June blooms were so incredible.

July through late Fall: Beautiful arrangement of annuals that grow well in the Spokane area, nice benches in the shade at one end. We had our wedding at Duncan gardens a few decades ago, so make it a point to stop by the center fountain at least once every summer for a quick kiss. Sometimes we have to come back another day if there is already a wedding going on there!

One of Spokanes finest treasures. This park seems to transport you to an entirely different place and time. I especially enjoy the summer Mozart concerts with Verne Windham.
